Roger Waters - On Tour 1999

Columbia Recording artist and Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters toured the United States for the first time in 12 years. Waters' "In The Flesh" tour opened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 23, 1999 (see itinerary below), and is the rock legend's first tour, anywhere in the world, since the 1987 "Radio K.A.O.S." trek. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer last performed live, in 1993, for Don Henley at the concert for Walden Woods.

COMMENTS:
Jon Rosenberg > The pre-gig gathering is at "Major Goolsby's" on 4th & Kilbourn starting around 5pm. It's listed in my instructions. This sports pub is a block away from the venue and a great place to party. That's where we always hold our gatherings. The Safe House is a tourist spot blocks away. The radio stations like to use it. Yuck.
Michael Simone: President of REG - The International Roger Waters Fan Club > REG Members - Meet at Major Goolsby's at 4th & Kilbourn at 5PM before the show in Milwaukee. Sound Good. Hope to see ya there.
Brian Sleeman > The Mecca, for anyone who hasn't been to Milwaukee, is right downtown and is part of a larger building. I couldn't believe how small the building was when I saw it. This will be the first show he's done since the end of 1987, and the first concert I've ever been to, period. Can't wait, less than a month!

I think there have been plans made by others for a pre-concert get-together at The Safe House. Don't know where it is so I probably won't be there.

Steve > Time to party old man
Jason > The Safe House is the place to be on July 23. It is the official pre-show party. If you have not been there, this place is the coolest bar/resturaunt in the country. Check the safehouse website for address. its in downtown not far from the venue (maybe walking distance).
Angela Baerwolf > Does anyone know of a good place in the arena where we could catch Roger (even a close glimpse) after the show? Do you thing he'll go anywhere in town afterwards?
Ken > The Safe House is going to be a BLAST!! I have friends from Michigan and Illinois meeting me there. If you've never been there it is actually a mechanical maze which is fun to try and escape not using conventional exits (which are clearly marked). If your unable to find a secret exit ask me, I'll be wearing a WKLH shirt. Well worth the visit especially if your from out of town and have never been there. SHHHHHH...mabey we can even have a Pre-Party smoke down...SHHHHHH :) Hope to see you there. I've seen no suggestions for a post-show part ...Maybe Kelly's on Bluemound (52'nd and Bluemound). Just a thought...I'll be partying no matter what. : )
Scott Branen > I need information!! I am going to see the show from TX, so i would like to know a good gathering spot and a decent hotel. Thanks.
pinkwaters > Well it is time to welcome the machine to our lives enjoy the so wish you were here!!!
Roger > We are going to Major Goolby's.
Mikel Orsborn > I'll take Ron's suggestion and go to the close bar rather than the tourist trap! I'm flying in from Seattle for the show, can't wait! Last tour I left town for was Marillion a couple years back, so I'm really excited. Guess you're never to old for rock 'n roll!
Chris Bockay > I'm coming up from Chicago to attend this show by myself, so I am hoping to hook up with some folks beforehand.
Kevin K. > Goolsby's is staggering distance and quite nice. No cover charge. No bullshit. But no place safe to pinch one before the show. The Safe House is tourist trap but interesting in its own right. About five blocks away. Beware of local cops along the riverwalk. Gonna play it safe and get 'prepped' for the show at home. P.S. Check out the rehearsal Thursday night at MECCA . . . gonna try to sneak in with my kid to show her what she's missing! p.p.s. Also going to Chicago show 7/24. Anyone need a ride? PEACE AND ROCK ON!! * Note: = Beware local cops but have fun. Party safely. Party hearty.
Scotty J > Both The Safe House and Major Goolsby's are fine. It seems as more people will want to hit the The Safe House. That's where I'll be. It's only 3-4 more block s away. Remember *I'm looking for a safehouse.* (Regarding post-concert gathers) Water street of course. Start at one end and see if you can make to the other.
Davis > We may have 6 Pine Knob lawn seats available. Look us up at BOX 48 Left Side facing stage. We are staying at the Ambassador on Wisconsin at 23rd.
Greg Surges > I saw the stage today (Thursday, July 22)... very intersting. You can enter through the back and the security guard by the door won't give you any trouble. The other guard turned out to be a floyd fan and he let us stay for a while. We saw the light check and heard a tape of what I suspect is Roger's new song...

COMMENTS:
donkyFliP > More Information on the Rosemont Theater.
Mark Strand > The Rosemont Theatre charges $10.00 for parking.
Michael Simone: President of REG - The International Roger Waters Fan Club > REG Members - I don't know Chicago. But I have been to the Courtyard Marriott there. Lets meet in front of the Marriott Courtyard hotel in Chicago around 5 PM before the show. Then we maybe kick it at a jazz club on the Navy Pier. Hope to see ya there.
RonToon > There's a bar at the Holiday Inn just across the street. It's probably the only place within walking distance for a gathering before the show....not much around there otherwise.
John Meskill > I am not familiar with the Rosemont area very well, but I love meeeting other people who love Roger Waters.
Daniel Mortlock > I've got my tickets to Roger's Chicago concert, and will be flying into town on the morning of Saturday the 24th (i.e., the day of the concert). Are there any other echoesians (either locals or other out-of-towners) who would be interested in wandering 'round the city (including Hip Cat Records) in the afternoon? If so, please reply to me. If not, then hopefully I'll see some of you at the show.
Mikel Orsborn > Bunch of us out-of-towners are staying at the Rosemont Holiday Inn - how about a preconcert meeting at the bar there? I don't drink (anymore) but it should still be fun. If you're interested, leave me an email or call me at the hotel on Saturday afternoon. Well, as for a post-concert gathering... how about my room? : ) Thanks to all of you who put up with my repeated, desperate, sniveling plea's for a ticket, both in Milwaukee and Chicago. And thanks to marckstr for the Milwaukee upgrade (only $100!) and RonToon for Chicago (only $200!) for helping. I really appreciate it. And thanks most to Craig Burnside, who sold me my initial Milwaukee ticket at face value, even standing in line to get it. Waters fans take care of one another. And *#&+ all the ebay and ticket service jerks, ripping off the real fans to line their own (bloated) pockets. See you there!
Jon Kruse > My wife and I are staying at the O'Hare International Holiday Inn. I guess it is literally across the street from the Rosemont Theater. If any die hard Floyd fans are interested in a good meeting spot for the Chicago show, I would suggest this hotel. Feel free to e-mail me for suggestions.
James Persenaire > I think I've waited for Saturday night for the majority of my life. It's going to be incredible to see a man perform who I place on the same lyrical pedestal as a Dylan or a Lennon. I'll be in Row Six somewhere on the right side on the main floor (I think). I'm about 6'4" with a goatee, so hopefully that will be enough to find me. I party well & stay out late so drop an email if you got any good info. Thanks.
Michael D'Angelo > Hyatt Regency Rosemont has a great bar at the top of their hotel. Get to see all the planes fly over approaching O'Hare International Airport. Who knows, Maybe Roger is staying there. See ya there!!! P.S. It's right across from The Rosemont Theater.
Aja Rossman > I met Roger after the show. Wow was that amazing. What the hell do you say in 3 seconds to prove you are the one he needs to talk to.......I think I did a good job though. &tl; lol > I'll never really know...

COMMENTS:
Larry Morris > The roads in the area are VERY screwed up with construction so if you have never been there you should be sure that you give yourself extra time for driving.
Cajer > Roger (if you surf the net), how about stopping by Memphis so I dont have to drive 12 hours to see ya play.
Cliff Williams > I've awaited this concert for years. I can't wait!
Nikhil Kumar > Proud Echoesian
Robert Goodman > I will be at various record stores that day in the Detroit area, as well as Holiday Inn in Auburn Hills, MI the night before. Can someone suggest some good record stores in the Detroit or surrounding area?
Eric Van Zegeren > We are staying at the Motel 6 for the weekend in Auborn Hills, want to know if anyone else is? We have a group of 6 diehard waters fans who would enjoy the company of other fans who are staying at the Motel 6 or nearby--we did the same at the Floyd concert in 94 and had a good time e-mail me.
Mark Strand > (Tue, 13 Jul 1999 21:48:38) For the last five days I have tried to get a Pine Knob ticket for a friend. I can not even get one lawn seat on the net, they maybe sold out.
Jordan Taylor > For those that don't already know..there is/was a GREAT rib joint near Pine Knob (a little further north on I-75) called PX's (just south of FLint and north of Pine Knob)
Jeremy Bierlein > ... lemme know if anyone is doing anything before the show. I took all of Sunday off and have only met one of you before and would like to hang out for a while before the show. Bar or parking lot, just lemme know. Please reply to me 'cause I'm off the list for the summer.
Jeremy Bierlein > I guess no one appears to have much planned or anything so I'm gonna get there in the early evening, park in the grass lot to the left as you pull in and hang out there. I'll have a white Toronado with smashed rear end. If you plan on having a beverage, you'll need to camouflage it because the attendants in Miller Lite shirts take away anything with alcohol, even Miller products. I'm about 5'10, dark hair , glasses, goatee, and will probably have a white Redwings hat on and a white t-shirt that says "MORE BARN." See ya'll there.
J > (regarding post-concert gathering) The parking lot! Those of you who have not been to the Pine Knob, make sure you have some cool drinks & comustionables waiting for you in the car for after the show because you're not going anywhere for awhile.

COMMENTS:
Mike Grega > I was thinking about the Hard Rock Cafe for a PRE-show meeting?
Barry Valentine > I think Mike's idea of meeting at the Hard Rock Cafe before the gig is a great one. Email me for more information if you are interested.
{ Unc } > I noticed the Cleveland notes, if anybody wants to meet, Gund Arena has a food court, I will meet there and if needed I will come early, I will be with one of my parents, just about the oldest couple of Pink Floyd fans. I'm excited I've got $50 tickets. I am on digest so mail me in private if you would like to meet.
Mike Grega > In effort to accommodate everyone I'll be at the Hard Rock Cafe at 4:00pm and then I'll be meeting Unc at the food court on the arcade side of the Gund at 6:00pm. Unc will have his Father with him and will be unable to meet us at the cafe. I'll have on a black Berlin Wall'90 jean jacket and a black PF base ball hat."

There is a tunnel we can take from the Mall to the Gund. BTW: the Cafe is on the 3rd floor of the mall downtown. There is parking under the Mall. Normally it's $4.50 but it might be higher for this event.

E-mail me back with the exact number of people you are going to bring to the cafe. I've talked with group sales and have set up reservations for our own area. It should be cool! I need to know the exact number of people you are bringing. When you show up just say you are with the "Waters Group".

Frank Grarrett > Right next to Gund Arena (Local Pubs everyone locates at) you will see patio and WMMS Banners. Gund Arena is underground so seeing Waters will be hard and it next to Jacobs Feild (they connect underground). Fans send me email and if there is enough fans I will pick a place out to meet !
Time to Tear down The Wall In The Flesh at the Gund Arena. And I hope there is a single up-front seat onsale that day. I will be there trying to get seats fromthe box office! Fans outside of Cleveland Club Levels are ok and Rows 1-8 are good on floor. Be careful of scalpers if Cleveland Police are around. If they see you buying or scalping you MAY (Notice May) get your tickets taken as it is illegal in Cleveland (Suppose to be ?) and if buying from scalper Day Of Show be careful on area and again police. Fans again be careful, look on ticketmasters Generic Gund Arena Map for seating. SEE YA ALL IN THE FLESH
Chris > I am so exited. I think I will actually poop my pants while waiting for Roger. If there are any girls attending between the ages of 16-22 then e-mail me.
Barry Valentine > What about we meet by the fountain in Tower City Mall at 7pm, make the ROGER WATERS ceremonial walk to GUND ARENA at 7:15-30, and then look for all the goodies at the venue? E-mail Me
Tom Stock > Please be advised that the Cleveland Indians are playing a baseball game that same evening at Jacob's Field which is located right next to the concert arena. The starting time for the game is 7:05 p.m. Parking will be at a PREMIUM as the ballgame is sold out every night (43,000+ fans). Around the stadium, parking can be anywhere from $20.00 right next door to as little as $4.00 - $5.00 a bout 8 - 10 blocks away.
Rick Myers > (pre & post-concert) Will be at Pete and Dewey's PLANET (right across from The Jake and Gund) about an hour before the show!!! (hotels) Don't stay in downtown... There are alot of hotel/motels in the Rockside/Independence area... 20 minutes south of downtown of Route 77 (Rockside Road exit)... Mucho more reasonable...

July 28 Landmark Theater Syracuse, New York seating chart and driving directions

NOTICE  : This show was rescheduled to August 10th due to a change of venue to the Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York.

All Information has been moved to August 10th (see below).

D. Razi > The show is canceled. It is rescheduled on Aug 10 in Albany. I was not able to exchange my ticket. The TicketBastard outlet only offers cash refunds. They do not deal with exchange and have no information about how and when this may be possible. If anyone has any information, please post here, or on echoes, or email me (D. Razi). Thanks in advance.
D. Razi > I finally talked to a person from Landmark Theatre on the phone. Tickets can be exchanged at Landmark on 02aug99 at 10:00 AM. Meanwhile tickets for 10aug99 Albany gig are on sale. I was first in line at 10:00 at the TicketBastard outlet. I got a side seat. Supposedly they are keeping the front floor seats for exchange; or at least that's what I am hoping for since I had a 4th row floor seat.

Benoit LaPointe > Hello. I have a ticket to sell for Roger Waters at L'Agora Quebec. You can reach me at 1-800-667-4637 at the Pines Resort where I work as sous chef. When calling, don't forget to ask for the kitchen department. If that doesn't work, you can send me e-mail.
One more thing I would like to say is that I am going to see Roger at the Molsen Center, Montreal (July 31) and Molsen Amphitheater, Toronto (Aug 1) so I am very excited. This is going to be my first concert of Roger Waters since 1987. Last time I saw him it was in Toronto and Quebec City. Also, I saw his first solo tour in 1984 at Montreal Forum. So, this is it for now. Best Regards.

Jean-Fridiric Brunet ZeBlob > I'll be going there with friends, but to meet up Echoesians as well will make that night the more memorable... We often meet at the "Cini Express" cafi on Ste. Catherine (roughly a 15 min walk from the new Forum (a.k.a Molson Center) This cafe has a "The Wall" wall (some Scarfe drawings painted, like the LP cover, I think as I don't have TW on LP) which would make it a related place to meet, either before of after.
Stefano Pedini > I'm just waiting 5 years for that show.
Jean-Fridiric Brunet ZeBlob > After discussing with a few people, it seems the pre-show meeting place I proposed on the Meet Me In the Flesh web page has had some aceptance... (Cafe Cine Express on Ste Catrherine, between metro stations Atwater & Guy) Yet, too few people, in my oponion, actually answered my first private mailings... So, to anyone who'll be at the Montreal show... Who wants a pre-show (or after show) meeting to take place? Any better idea for a location?
Someone mentioned a trip to record stores... If we all meet quite early, such a "store tour" might be fun (I know a few places with RoIOs and/or rare stuff...). Whatever we do, I hope we have some great time!
Patrick Talbot > For the post show, best place to gather is at Ovation. Ovation is a bar/restaurant in the Molson Centre building. The outside entrance to the place is right beside the main Molson Ctr. entrance on La Gauchetiere Street so we'll meet there. After that we'll decide where we are going. Hope to see many of you there.

COMMENTS:
Phillippe Van Roy > I'm from Belgium and I will arrive in Toronto on 29th july and will be leaving on 4th August.
Richard Dalzell > Flying in from Glasgow, Scotland on the 29th July with another guy from England.
Calvin West > Myself and Curt are flying in from Colorado, USA on Air Canada Friday,July 30th. Toronto will be immersed in the largest Cultural Festival in North America through Sunday, August 1st with CARABANA -- a festival of unmatched proportion and full of Carribean food, costume and frolic. Many hotels will not take reservations--just show up and get a room! Please e-mail to rendezvous for a be er after the show!
Curtis Carter > How'z aboot we try all gathering at the Island Tropicana (if it's still called that...little bar/club located on the Ontario Place premises)..from there we can figure out where to go. Perhaps an easier sight to find (but might be a 5-10 minute trek) would be the giant golfball (Imax cinesphere). I'm from Toronto, but I haven't been to Ontario Place in years. email me if you have a better idea. : )
Ross Hattin > (regarding pre-concert gathings) Ontario Place has several pubs/bars available for meeting/grogging. There will be a fairly large group of us going out afterwards, probably into the theatre district which has some honkin patios and great pubs...
John Blue > I have an extra ticket 12th row floors centre sec 101 row L for the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto Sun,Aug,1. Asking original ticket price of $60. Send me e-mail.
Luis > I'm from Venezuela (now in Ottawa on business trip). Will arrive to Toronto the day of the concert, and leave on Monday.
Dave > I have 3 very good seats for sale (cost+service charges).
Dwayne L. > Roger will not disappoint !!
Curtis Carter L. > In the theatre district there is a good place with really cheap prices...Peel Pub.  : )  ie. 160 oz pitcher =$20.  : )  and food is pretty good there too...kitchen is open I believe until 2 am. It is located on King St. West (on the north side of the street)...just a few blocks west of University Ave.

COMMENTS:
MM > I'm flying from San Francisco to Newark, N.J. on the 3rd, then Amtraking it up to Boston on the 4th. From there a fellow I met through the internet fanzine Notes From The Edge (Yes) will be taking care of me. He gets to return the favor, each time Yes tours the west coast he flies out and I give him a hand up. This internet thing is way cool.

I'm hoping y'all can tell me where to go (careful!) for after show festivities, I live in Napa and will be bringing some of California's finest with me (Woooo HOOOOO!!!!!!).

G. Murphy > Just a word of advice. the cops can be pretty tough on drinking in the lot before the show, be sure to have any beers or drinks in cup. There ARE undercovers lurking around so be careful. And don't arrive too early, the lot won't be open.
Terry Shea > I second the Parking Lot comment. If you're cool, then Security is no problem. Beers in cups, smoky treats discreet... speaking of which... the guy from Napa...I think we're sitting relatively closeby? Care to share? Be good to yourselves... see you in Mansfield (it's not really in Boston, for those who've never been. Let's see if Roger says, "Hello, Boston!!!!")
Steve > I'm looking for a good camping area.
Jim > After over 50 shows at the Great Woods-Tweeter Center one thing can be said about the area, not much. The best scene is usually in the parking lot. ok to grill food play frisbee etc... but if you drink make sure it's in plastic. Anything but clear plastic. Keep coolers in a locked trunk. A good time can be had but the police are relentless looking for easy targets to keep our local courthouse's in business. Avoid the back parking lot at all costs. Unreal Traffic. Get there as soon as gates open for best parking. The best beer tent inside is to the extreme left as soon as you enter the venue. Remember there is no dark side of the moon as a matter of fact it's all dark. Which of the buggers do we blame for the demise of Floyd? It does not matter, Roger Waters the musical genius, is here to show everyone how it's done.
Tom Page > It would be really cool to meet up with other Roger Waters fans at the Gruvis Malt show at Bill's Bar (on Lansdowne St. in Boston) after the show at Great Woods. I have a friend coming in from out of town for the RW show. The last time he was in town, in June, we went to the WBCN River Rave (at Great Woods). We discovered Gruvis Malt there - one of the best new bands on the Boston scene. They were one of the best bands we saw that day (out of at least a dozen). I'm totally psyched they're back in town & headlining at Bill's on the same night as RW. It's going to great! The band doesn't even look old enough to get into the bar, but don't let that fool you... This band kick ass! Their funky rhythms will put you in a trance. And, it's just $5 to get in. Bill's Bar is really easy to find too. It's literally right across the street from Fenway Park on Landsdowne Street (in downtown Boston near Kenmore Square) (I-95N to Mass Pike; east to Cambridge exit; north on Cambridge St. to Storrow Dr.; east to Fenway exit; right on Beacon, left on Brookline (at Pizzeria Uno), left on Landsdowne.) Hope to see you all there.
Andy > Just an FYI for nayone else heading to tonight's show. Outside the main parking lot, to the right if you're looking at the main entrance, is a small parking lot that charges $20. I know, I know, $20 sucks, but you know what...you can do whatever you want there, with NO hassles. It used to be that only during the harder (musically) shows that you would get harrassed by Tweeter Center security for drinking in the main parking lot, but now, everyone is a suspect to these guys, even older folks like me and my wife, and this is for plastic cup or not. The lot next door is private, and the owners really don't care. The other thing is it shaves an hour or two off your commute, so instead of still sitting in the main lot, I'm already back in Boston by 11:30. It's not for everyone (used to be $10--would prefer that) but if you're carpooling at all, it's WELL worth it.

Lyra Goldbloom > I also want to know if anyone wants to "tailgate" before either of these shows (PNC or Jones Beach). I am thinking of bringing a grill and lots of hamburgers and lots of beer. If anyone needs a ride from the northern NJ area, I will be happy to provide. (also see new message below)
MM > I fly in from San Francisco on the 3rd, Amtrak to Boston on the 4th, return to N.J. on the 5th, then Par-Tay! all day the 6th. I haven't seen a lot of my old friends in years and the word has gone out to them that the party starts at my parents house in Woodbridge at noon. Bunches of us are going to the show, then we go back to my parents afterwards to continue the trouble-making (although I don't expect many after-show revelers, we're all in our 40's now and getting fat, stupid and lazy.) California's finest will be on hand. Party 'til you drop or until the cops show up. E-mail me for more info.
Thomas Dobberahn > I`m flying from Frankfurt ( Germany ) to Newark on the 5rd and arrive at 15:55 PM.I`m in need of a ride to the shows at PNC (Hotel ? Accommondation ? ) and Jones Beach. Thanks of any kind of information.
Pinaki Ghatak > I'd like to meet someone. I do have a extra ticket. (women only)
Lyra Goldbloom > I want to invite everyone to my place for a pre-concert party, unless it is easier to meet in the parking lot (I live in northen NJ). Send me e-mail if you would like to attend.
Lyra Goldbloom > I am having a pre concert party at my place. It will start at 12:00 and I live in Lincoln Park, NJ. Email me for directions.
vijay > Can't resist after hearing about Milwaukee reviews.
Steve > I'm looking for a good camping location.
Warren Warshaw > I have one ticket in the 17th row that I'm selling for face value. Email me for details.
Steve > Unfortunately, there are a bunch of different parking lots at PNC, so picking one and trying to tell someone else where it is is probably fruitless. But anywhere there is a group of fans listening to Waters/Floyd music, enjoying a cold beer or some munchies, or generally enjoying themselves sounds like a get-together to me.  :-)  FYI - the parking lots a bit farther away from the amphitheater are FREE!!!!! At least they were for a recent Black Crowes show. So if you want to save 10 or 15 bucks, park a bit farther away and walk.
Bob Cooney > Actually there are only 2 lots....One big one up front (which is divided in half with a meridian/island in the middle) and one down the hill (where shuttle busses take you to the amphitheater)......Best bet, if your there early enough, and they're still letting you park up front, stick to the left side of the big lot (easier to exit). That's where I'll be....what car I'll be in, or what identifying markings I'll have set up, I haven't figured out yet, but I'll post them as the day approaches (and so should everyone else, and maybe we can narrow it down to one such car/marking to keep our eyes out for) because I'd really like to meet some fellow echoesians for the show.....If your parked in the lower lot down the hill, take the shuttle up, get out, and look for the car/marker that we agree upon.
Je > I need tix. looking for actual seats for this show, not lawn seats, anyone w/tix for sale please write asap. Thanx. Also, anyone from Monroe TWP. NJ. or sorounding area going to the show let me know cause I may also need a ride.
Je > HELP! I'm in desperate need of a ride to the show. I live in Middlesex City. Spottswood, Monroe area. I will be home from work about 4;30 p.m. and ready to go. Please e-mail me ([email protected]) if your in the area and would like some cool company. Thanx! God I hope I make the show!!
Tom > Okay all, this is it! Anybody coming to the Roger Waters show this Friday is welcome to stop by the Echoesians party in the main lot of the Arts Center. We'll be there as soon as the gates open, so stop on by! You'll be able to find us by a banner that Lyra is making which says "Echoes" on it, plus the Floyd music at full blast will be hard to miss. Hope to meet all the Echoesians there.

Joe Creamer > (regarding Jones Beach parking lot parties) People grill and drink all day as long as u are discrete the rent-a-cops will not bother you. People get arrested because they are stupid so put beer in cups. NOTE: Go Fishing
FloydPowR > A word of advice. If your gonna party in the Jones Beach parking lot, do it discreetly, as the cops tend to be very strict. And be advised that NO BEER is sold inside the venue. Plan your party wisely!
MM > Wooo HOOOOO!!!! Check out those seats!!!
Warren Warshaw > I live in Staten Island, 2 blocks from the Verrazano Bridge. I am in need of a ride to the show. I will gladly contribute for gas, tolls, food, beer, etc.
Thomas Dobberahn > I'm flying from Frankfurt (Germany) to Newark on the 5th. Any kinds of information are welcome.E-mail ! Thanks !!!
Lyra Goldbloom > Do we all want to meet in the parking lot? If so, email me and we can plan a place to meet. As I said before, I am bringing lots of food and beer.
Lyra Goldbloom > Willey suggests tailgating in parking lot 6, since it is equipped with BBQ grills and tables right in the sand. Parking lot 6 is directly East of The Needle and directly across the highway from the Amphitheater. As it grows closer to show time, he suggests that we move to the Amphitheater parking lot, just a short jump across the highway. I think this would be a good place to meet.
Steve > I'm looking for a good place to camp.
Tom Reizes > Just a warning, cops at Jones Beach (a state park=state troopers) can be jerks. I have had friends arrested for selling tix at face value, as well as for being spied on and photographed enjoying herbal inspiration. I have also had great times there and never had any problems personally. Of course the last time I was there was in 91. The parking lot is THE place to hang out before the show. Don't worry, just be cautious and be cool. (Post-concert) Saturday nites down that way offer a couple night clubs on the beach that may not be rog heads cup of tea, but you never know. Saturday nite in the middle of LI also offers The Zen Tricksters (premier Dead coverband) at the Right Track Inn in Rockville Centre (???)
Mark > Two of us coming from England, need advise on where to stay and more importantly - drink.
Adam > 3 TICKETS FOR SALE - good seats - section 12R Row FF seats 14, 15, 16. Face on the tickets is 32.00 I will take best offer- I 'll sell you one, two, or three tickets. Raging Roger Fan in New York.
Bob > I am looking for one ticket. Can anyone help out?
Robert Milazzo > I have a TICKET FOR SALE for the Jones Beach show. Asking face value ($32.00) or best offer. Not sure of the location off-hand (don't have the ticket in front of me), but it's on the lower level. Send me e-mail for more informaiton. Thanks...
Eric Welsch > What time are the tailgate parties starting...sun up? :^) Any one taking the Bridgeport ferry to Port Jef. on Saturday morning?
Marc > I have one 10th row ticket available for face value. Please contact me ASAP if you're interested. I'll check my mail until the afternoon of the show, so don't hesitate to email Saturday morning if needs be.
Lorraine > In the Jones Beach Theatre parking lot, there is a beach with a snack bar that sells beer till 8:00. I've never been to the snack bar but usually just hang in the parking lot. I've been to 6 concerts there this summer and have seen many many people "get away" with drinking beer as long as it's in a cup. I've also seen people "get taken away" in cuffs for being idiots. So be careful. Mother should I trust the gov't? NOTE = We will be wearing the hammer arm bands. Very psyched
John Wilcock > I have a spare ticket in section 12L. Face value, please contact me ASAP. . I'll also consider swapping my 2 tickets in this section for one elsewhere, plus the cost of the extra.

Steve > I'm looking for a good place to camp.
Miguel Reyes > I would be happy to meet any Roger Waters' fans.
Bootleg Bob > The Oakdale Theater is a bit out of the way and in a definite rural area. The best place I know of is the Trout Brook Brewing Co. (food and drink) and it's probably 3-4 miles away. Beware if you're tailgating: Security is everywhere. They're not intrusive for the most part but they hate scalpers or anyone they perceive to be one. I was given a stern, unfriendly warning while waiting for someone before the recent Santana show; I am not a scalper but they didn't care. Security knows Waters sold out quickly so they'll be out in force.
Dan > Never been to the Oakdale. Does anyone know how they are about tailgating? Would like to barbecue, drink beer and listen to some music before the show.
Rudi Riet > The Oakdale is accessed primarily by the Wilbur Cross parkway and a two-lane frontage road, and traffic to shows can be *very* slow, so plan accordingly. Tailgating is usally discouraged in The Oakdale's parking lot (the venue is used for non-muslcal events as well, such as craft fairs, which attract crowds which are more sensitive to post-tailgate messiness). Also, the Wallingford police a re not the most friendly when it comes to drunken behaviour - please drink responsibly, because you don't need chamical enhancement to fully enjoy a Waters show!
Ken > I am looking for two tickets for me and my wife, please contact me, thanks.
Mouse > Ok, I'm including my name on this page more for after the concert than for meeting there. If you try to approach me I will shatter in fear (as I am a shy mousie), and my companions are not stranger-friendly. BUT I will be more than eager to trade stories and otherwise talk about the concert through e-mail afterwards. (!)
Steve Keisling > Can someone please give me directions to the Trout Rivery Brewing Co. I will be traveling north on the merritt.
Jeff > There is a pizza \ italian resturant with bar just past the entrance to the Oakdale on the left ( if the oakdale is on the right) good cheap food & drink.

I was first in line at 10:00 at the TicketBastard outlet. I got a side seat. Supposedly they are keeping the front floor seats for exchange; or at least that's what I am hoping for since I had a 4th row floor seat.
Aaron Altshuler > Tickets go onsale on Friday July 30, at 10 am est. They are 45 and 30 dollars.
Tom Casey > Right behind the Pepsi Arena is a parking garage. It extremely easy to get to, in fact its sort of got it's own exit off the highway. If you are traveling on 787 North or South it's the Empire State Plaza exit, just look for the tall buildings with the egg next to it, once on that exit you will see Pepsi on right, can't miss parking garage exit also on right hand side, If anyone wants to meet, let's meet on the roof of this place, the top deck. Right next to arena, easy to find. Hope to see you there!
Tom Casey > Right behind the arena is a parking garage, it's convienent because it has it's own exit. I have already talked to many poeple including our group of ten, we are going to meet on the roof (top deck). Take 787 North or South, Empire State Plaza exit (just look for the tall buildings with the egg next to them), Pepsi is on right. Right after Pepsi Arena same side you will see this parking garage. It is really easy to find. Hope to see you all before the show,we will be thier early.
Bruce Davis > Sorry to hear anyone had a hard time exchanging tickets.I know it's short notice but if you call 1-800-331-2582 and ask for Jeff Hecker he will explain how to go about it by mail. If you had good seats for the Landmark then it's your best bet. He gave me 11 row center stage for 12 row right center at the Landmark. Also I may have some awsome extra seats for the Albany show. Section 2 Row L. Name Price????

*** OLD COMMENTS *** The following comments were submitted before the venue was changed to the Pepsi Arena
Jim Hooks > The World Famous Dinosaur BarBQ...just a couple of blocks from the theater would be great place for pre-concert meeting. Friends from Philly and Miami are flying in for this one..12th row..bought the whole row....Yeah baby !!!
Steve > I'm looking more for a good camping area.
Rob Picciotti > I'm not sure if this bar is still around, but I'm headin to Kennedy Station. It's right around the corner from the Onadaga War Memorial and not too far from The Landmark. We'll have a large group with us so stop in and let's PARTY!
John Biamonte > I'm Hungry for blues and BBQ ( The Dinosaur baby).

COMMENTS:
MM > This'll be my dad's first concert. Mo' bonding! Mo' bonding! Think he'll partake in CA's finest??? I do...
Tim Brannan > Glad I'm finally getting the chance to see Rog. Can't wait.
Thomas Dobberahn > I`m flying from Frankfurt (Germany) to Newark on 5th. Any kinds of information are welcome. E-mail ! Thanks ! ! !
Chris Stein > If anybody's interested in hanging out before the show drop me an email. There's not much out by the e-center except parking lots, but we could hook up in that park area across from the entrance. I cant wait!!!
Colleen Carosella > I would like to meet up with people before & after the concert! Please advise as to where? If anyone stays at the Comfort Inn on Columbus Ave, they can take the ferry at Penns Landing to the E-Center in NJ (within walking distance from the hotel to the Ferry). Ferry cost about 7 dollars.
Doug Craig > ROGER WATERS!!!! This concert is gonna be great, I'll tell Roger you a ll said "high."
Tom MacNeir > Just interested in chatting w/ fellow roger fans about the show.
Ofey the Dofey > ok anyone going to this showing park in lot 7 . that is the party parking lot. I went there for steve miller and the parking lot was crazier then the concert. If anyone doesnt think they can find it or want sum partying buddies email me ([email protected]) privately n such
Scott Pompa > Alternative way of getting to the E-Center. Stay in Philly and take the River Ferry from Penns Landing over to the Camden side. It cost about 6 bucks (round trip) and only takes 10 minutes. It beats the traffic congestion after the show. Very easy to do and worth the while. Once on Camden side..about a 5 minute walk to the E-Centre. Many people do this. Ferry runs for 45 minutes after show to get back.
Carl Steinmetz > Philly Rock or Hooters are good places to meet before the show. Also in the parking lot waiting for the ferry. I've waited for twelve years for Roger to tour again, my dream has finally come true. I am going to see him in three different places, i.e. Camden, Montage Mountain, and Hershey Stadium. Wouldn't mind meeting up with someone before, during, and after the show to do a little "attitude adjustment" if you know what I mean.
Glen Lockley > Gang ! There is NO good place to get together in Camden. Getting together in Philly then going to Camden can be too crazy. I suggest tailgating. There will be tons of people there with BBQs, ball playing, music cranked, and quite possibly some drinks too. Just mingle. . .
Matthew > If you are coming from the Jersey side, recommended lodging would be in the Cherry Hill, Mount Laurel area. Close enough without being in Camden. (1) Holiday Inn - RunneMeade, NJ (2) Hilton Courtyard - Cherry Hill, NJ or (3) Doubltree Hotel - Mount Laurel, NJ
Any idea why Roger has chosen to play mostly outdoor arenas? And why not the more popular arenas (Continental arena, MSG/NY) ?

Jussi P. Korkala > If anyone needs tickets for this show, I have two tickets in will-call - I am unable to attend this show myself. I will offer these tickets at face-value to anyone intrested. Please e-mail me.
Thomas Dobberahn > I`m flying from Frankfurt (Germany) to Newark on 5th. Any kinds of information are welcome. E-mail ! Thanks ! ! !
Scott Pompa > Looking forward to this show! Very easy to get to off I-81. Montage is a pretty neat place to see a show. They are very strict upon entering and it's a long walk from the parking lot to the entrance so don't take anything with you other than blankets and binoculars because they will make you leave it or take it back. Umbrellas not allowed. After the show, be patient. Not the smoothest flow of traffic upon exiting.
Eric Slacktish > I'm a local... if you have any questions or need any help, I'll try my best to help ya out.
Ruffer > If you intend to party in the parking lot before the concert you need to be careful. They have Police (or rental cops) driving around and they will confiscate alcohol- so bring plastic cups and keep things low key. It is also not unusual to see some dogs making the rounds. so careful with your other party substances!
Scott Pompa > * Note: = August 5th.....Ticketmaster has just released some great seats for this show. I just picked up an extra ticket in the very front row. Tickets still available for Row 0 (15th row), Center Stage...can't beat it...hurry up. See you all there.
Sandro > Hi! We're two Italian Brothers staying in Manhatttan. We had thought of renting a car and coming to the concert, but it looks too difficult.... is anyone from the NY area willing to give us a ride? Sharing all expenses obviously. Please help us. Sandro and Massimo.

Mark DiPrima > (Preconcert) Darein Lake is a cool atmosphere to chill out in. Parking in the grass is cool, packs up quickly...u can drink freely and smoke your grass cleanly here. 2 problems---(1) only 2 port-o-lets in the park, and (2) takes forever to get out of the lot...besides that its cool...Anyone like to smoke...lets meet up somewhere...let me know.

COMMENTS:
donkyFliP > Does anyone know a good place to meet before or after the show? I'd love to meet other Echoesians and have a good time. I'm from Lexington, KY. so I don't know a thing about Columbus.
Amit Sogani > Reaching columbus on 14th early morning leaving 16th afty.
JD > I have an extra ticket to the Columbus show, right side row 5, if you're interested E-mail me an offer.
Dave Cummings > Can we expect lots of roios flying around during this tour? If so I want in.
Simon Wimpenny > Hi, Coming from England, will be there on the afternoon of the 15th, would like to get togther with fellow fans, let me know when and where.
Barry Valentine > What about going out for a postconcert drink at a bar right outside of the venue? Email me with your seating location. We could make this a monster! I am staying at the Holiday Inn Express down the street on W. Broad Street. Anyone else staying there?
John Pease > Looking forward to the show, early reviews about Rogers tour are fantastic. I saw Pros/Cons in Atlanta, greatest spectacle I have ever witnessed, blows away my two GilFloyd shows....... Will keep in touch!
Brandon > Well, I did have 12 Row center, but it will be a couple of more days before the new tickets arrive. Why can't Ticket Bastard figure out a way to make things EASY! Hope to see some of you before the show. Saw the Pine Knob show last week, and it was killer!
Maria & Ron > I can't believe that Ticket Master has switched venues at yet another show! After a half an hour of aurguing I finally got my tickets switched - they wanted me to get a refund a buy new ones when they went back on sale. They said that ticket exchanges would continue until Aug. 6 when all tickets would be put back on sale. (Everything else goes on sell Aug. 2).
Paul Williams III > Hi plan on getting their on the 15th if anyone is interested in doing some bootleg swapping I'll be bringing in a few anyone is interested. By the way has anyone figured out a good hotel near the university?
blt4futr > I was thrilled when I found out that my exchanged seat for the new venue was identical to my original seat. 6th row near the center, not too shabby. I applaud the good people who were responsible for the exchanges, because I got reamed by those crooks at the Lakewood Ampitheater in Atlanta. So, to all the victims who originally bought tickets at Chastain, BLAME LAKEWOOD !@! ! They are RESPONSIBLE, and no-one else. Can someone tell me how far the Schottenstein Center is from the airport ? And, if someone wants to do some trading, let me know what you're looking for and let's work something out. Where are the pre and post show parties ??????
Barry Valentine > Let's fiesta at the Mexican restaurant Scott recommended!!! See you there on the dark side of the moon...
Traveler Advisory: Went to AAA yesterday and found out there is MASSIVE construction all around the circle of I-270. They have been working since April!! Some parts of I-270 are resulting in dead stop traffic. Allow extra time if traveling near or on I-270.

COMMENTS:
BUZZ > The Pittsburgh, PA 8/18/99 Roger Waters show at the I.C. Light Amp. has been changed. It was moved from a 5,000 seat riverside pavilion to the Coca-Cola Starlake Amphitheater in Burgettstown, PA. (about 35 miles out of town). Starlake can hold about 20,000 somewhat comfortably, but at this year's OZZFEST, they jammed in over 25,000. It was miserable, needless to say, but the music stood up to it. You can exchange tickets starting tomorrow (Thursday July 29). Hurry to get the better seats. I was told that it's a first come first serve kinda thing. The rest of the tickets to those without, will go on sale Saturday (July 31). I'm still a little bummed about the change, but now it frees up some tickets for the masses. Hope to see you there.
Jeff Barnhart > (Pre-concert) Look for signs that say "REG" in the parking lot and bring your membership card if you belong. BEWARE- cops will try to purchase "goodies" from you at the Star Lake parking lot. Party carefully! (Post-Concert) There is a camp-ground a mile or two away. I'll have to get the name and directions, though. Star Lake is a pain in the ass to get into and out of, so don't be in a hurry! * (Ticket Exchanges) If you have tickets for I.C. Light Ampitheater... Go to where you purchased them and exchange them IMMEDIATELY!!!! I just exchanged two "no-so-great" seats that I was trying to sell and they gave me Pit Seats in return!! You see, TicketMaster will exchange tickets for comparable seats at the new venue. The pit seat, however do not exist at I.C. Light, so they must be using them on a first come first served basis! If your still reading this, shame on you- you should be on your way to the TicketMaster Outlet!!!! -I hope I got this info out soon enough-
Jeff Barnhart > When you exchange your tickets (now until 8/6), you will receive the "best available" in the price range ($39.00 - covered seating or $31.50 - uncovered), not necessarily comparable to your location at I.C. Light.
Brandon > I just happen to have the day off of work, so I can take a little road trip. Does anyone have an extra ticket, or know how to get one? Saw the Pine Knob show, and am going to the Schott in Columbus, wouldn't mind seeing him just one more time!
Roger V. > We need two reserved seats. Please e-mail me. Also will be in Hershey the show.
Ishai Ravid V. > Dear God all mighty am I looking forward to this. It's going to cost me a couple of hundred bucks (have to fly all the way from San Francisco - can't wait till "Spring 2000"), but Roger, live, my God. Thought I missed that oppurtunity. Anyway, I've got a really excellent SEAT, section 2, right in the middle of the second row. I would gladly, however, exchange it for a Pit ticket. If anyone's interested, please let me know.
Egon Brenner > Hello!! I am from Austria (Europe!) and I have just seen that the concert moved to Star Lake Amphitheatre, but I have "tickets" for the I.C. Light amphitheatre. Now I should change the tickets until 6th of August. In fact I have only the confirmation number from the Ticket Bastard order and the confirmation from my visacard that I have already paid the tickets. I have to pick up the tickets on the day of the concert in pittsburgh!!!???? So how should I change the tickets?? Is there anybody out there???? Once again I am from Europe and visit the USA first on August 13th (Scranton!!!!) Thank you! Egon

*** OLD COMMENTS *** The following comments were submitted before the venue was changed to the Star Lake Amphitheater.
Eric Shepard > I do not have any location specifically. I know the I.C. Light Pavillion near the riverfront. I have heard it is a large tent that is set up during the summer. I am staying with my family near the city and I am open to any locations for meeting other admirers before or after the show. I do not know Pittsburg well enough to suggest a site close to the Pavilion.
Luke Williams > I want to see other good hearted fans at this concert.
Jeff Barnhart > (regarding pre-concert gathering) There are PLENTY of bars in Station Square where the IC Light Tent is located. Stay away from Woodson's and Hooter's and go for the smaller joints. I'm working on getting something together for after the show. The Sheraton Station Square is a great location, but a little $$$. However, you can park your car and forget about it! The hotel, bars, restaurants, and the IC Light Ampitheater are all within easy walking distance within Station Square (a sort of self-contained dining and entertainment area).
Dai Willey > (Preconcert) Bobby Rubino's Place for Ribs - 412-642-7427. This is in the Station Square Mall near the amphitheatre <HTTP://WWW.STATIONSQUARE.COM/DINING.HTM>. The website lists other places nearby.

COMMENTS:
Lisle > FYI: The Orioles are in town on Aug. 20 and because Baltimore Arena is only three blocks from camden yards parking will likely be at a premium.
Dean Hebert > I just called Pier 6 myself & confirmed Mike's info. Exchange at Pier 6 or the Arena only. I asked specifically about Ticketmaster & the woman said "no." 410-625-3100. I think we should all call them & ask the same question -- hey, if we all gotta shlep up there to exchange tickets after paying the Ticketmaster "convenience" markup once already, we can at least annoy them by making them answer the same question over and over.
Bobzilla > I'll be hosting a get together prior to the show, Aug 20, at the BBC (Baltimore Brewing Co.) starting at 4:00 PM. Look for us under the (echoes) Mugs sign. I'll be wearing a black NASA baseball cap. >%^)   see ya there! Boogaloo!
nikhil > Fans can exchange thir their Pier Six tickets for Baltimore Arena tickets as follows: Tickets originally purchased at the Pier Six box office and Ticketmaster outlets can be exchanged at the Pier Six box office starting Monday August 2nd at 12:00 noon. Tickets originally purchased from Ticketmaster Charge By Phone will automatically be exchanged through Ticketmaster.
nikhil > I decided to go to Pier 6 to do the exchange today. Long story short, I think seats are pre-assigned. I think I ended up getting better seats than what i started off with, but I'm not quite sure. I had row L (10th or 11throw) and now I have section 104 row F. All in all, I believe one can wait until the day of the show, and get comparable seats.
Glen Lockley > If anyone did not know yet. Tix for the Baltimore Arena - Roger Waters show went on sale at 12PM Monday August 2nd . Thought I would let everyone know.
Bob Petit > I have a pair of 2nd row floor seats but can only use 1 ticket if anyone is interested in other seat. I am only looking for face value for pair sec.114 row F seats 1,2
Ray Markey >I also have two tickets available in Section 216 Row J. You'll be sitting with some rabid Waters fans, so if interested the tix are for what I paid ($49.50 including convenience charge.)
Dave from PA > I was at the Hershey PA show and had to see it one more time! I have 2 excellent tickets on the floor - Section 6, Row K - to sell. Will accept face value ($50 which includes Ticketbaster "fees"). E-mail me or look for guy at Arena saying, "2 great seats for sale." You will leave the show stunned and in awe! Worth every cent!!!

*** OLD COMMENTS *** The following comments were submitted before the venue was changed to the Pier 6.
Tom > Help!!! I need 2 tickets. Live in VA Beach so had to use Ticket Bastard by phone...never got through before sellout. "Need a Miracle!" Thank-you.
Lisle > I need tickets.
Dana > I need one ticket in any location (seat or lawn) in the Pavillion, just want to be there.
Jeff &Tammy Porter > Don't know the area that well, but we would be interested in meet ing up with some other Floydians.
Jussi P. Korkala > (Pre-concert) Renaissance Harborplace Hotel sounds good. Or some place in Little Italy. (Post-concert) Let's see where we end up. Any parties planned? (Note) Finnish Waters- followers Mr. Jussi Korkala and Mr. Ville Norrman will attend this concert. We'll be staying in Baltimore-area thursday-saturday, please mail me if you'd like to meet. Parting saturday for Washington, D.C. and NYC.
Dan > I was wondering. I looked at the seating chart and it didn't make any sense. Could some email me that knows the venue and tell me if my seats are good seats? They seem, or rather sound close, and that would drive me insane:)

COMMENTS:
Brent > It's official, those of us with good tickets have been SCREWED by the move to Lakewood! I had 6th row seats, and if I exchange them I'll be back in section 204? This is BS!! How did that guy in Chicago get in touch with Roger about scalping? Maybe he would be interested in all the crap his fans are going through in Atlanta!
Adam > Looking to sell my tickets - Good seats - Face of 32.50 - I paid just under $100 for two - I will sell to best offer. Send me e-mail.
dB > They're supposed to let us know when to go to the Roxy and exchange our seats for Lakewood seats. I hope we don't get screwed.
Brent Bridgeman > Posted a couple of hotels close to Lakewood, but not sure about the neighborhood. Downtown Atlanta is only a few miles away, and it should be easy to look these hotels up on the web.
David Gilmor > The Lakewood area is not a good neighborhood unless you party tailgate style in the parking lot. In other words there aren't any good bars or restaurants close by. Downtown has only an Allstar and Hardrock or hotels. Other options Buckhead with 30 other locations. However it's on the other side of Atlanta from Lakewood. Really the most practical would be the Marriott downtown or parking lot tailgate. NOTE: Lakewood has metal detectors and through searches just FYI.
Ken > For anyone who wants to know about Lakewood and the surrounding area it is not as nice as the former venue. It holds about 18,000 ; 7,000 seats (mostly covered) 11,000 lawn. The area outside the venue is not as nice residentially. Also the security at the venue will search you pretty well. The upside to the venue is there is not a decibel level so it will be much louder. The venue is a lot closer to the interstate than the old place. If anyone wants to know more about the place just email me. I worked there for five years so I know the place inside and out. See you guys there.
_pink > Bruno, in response to your posted question... I'm damn sure gonna try... ; )
David H. > Existing ticketholders are definitly screwed -- I talked to the original promoters today and they said Lakewood is holding back the entire front seating sections and they will not be used for exchange. This is a nightmare--we bought tix the first day when series tix went on sale and had to buy for other concerts we couldn't even attend so we could get good seats for Roger. (the scalpers still got the best seats anyway) This screw-job is from TicketBastard and Lakewood Amp. concert southern (chastain) should've found some way to protect us from this . I'll never buy tix for another Chastain or Lakewood event after this. Roger--next time book in Jacksonville, Fla. or Tallahasse. This really hurts! Atlanta--burn in hell!
Mark Carbone > Folks, your best bet is to tailgate. There really aren't any good watering holes close by, and you certainly don't want to have to drive very far after indulging in a variety of pre-show party favors! (Post-Concert) If you park in one of the smaller, private lots (ie: a church parking lot for $5), as opposed to the main lot, the cops won't make you leave so soon after the show. If the weather is nice, it's fun to hang out for a little post-show tailgating. (NOTE) I, too, would like to express my disappointment in the way the change of venue thing was handled. It seems that nationwide all of the great little intimate venues that were originally scheduled are now being forgone to accomodate this influx of ?nostalgia? seekers that didn't make a serious effort to buy tickets the day they went on sale. Where were you when Roger was playing half-empty arenas on the Radio KAOS tour? The truth of the matter is that I don't really mind the issue of trying to make the shows accessible to more fans. HOWEVER, I think it's a terrible irony that those of us who made the effort to get tickets at 10:01 on the morning they went on sale are now being moved, en masse, to the back sections of the venue. This way when the new onsale date arrives, all of the scalpers and johnny-come-lately's will have a great shot at premium seats. What the hell is this all about? The people who were first to get tickets (generally those with a deep love and understanding of Roger's work) are now relegated to the back of the venue!?! It just doesn't sit well with me. Call me crazy but this reeks of the exact same kind of profit-motive that created such alienation on the '77 tour (and eventually led to The Wall). Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to have an opportunity to experience his brilliance in a live setting again, and I am happy that this has the makings of a fincially successful tour, but I have a feeling that many of these recent decisions were taken out of the hands of the artist and left up to the promoters (and TicketBastard). In any case, I look forward to seeing all of you die-hards. Please e-mail me if you come up with any good meeting spots. Thanks.
Jason DeGraf > My tickets were vastly improved. I now have section 102 Row L. I did have tickets from Ticketmaster and I know of others who were put in this center section, up close as well. I think those who ordered from Chastain direct are getting screwed, but Tickemaster folks are getting the best seats.
blt4futr > For those of us who got on the phone Apr. 11 (Sunday), and intentionally bought tickets for at least one show we probably wouldn't see, but in effect "bought" the right to buy a decent seat for Waters, well, we feel like we've been fucked by a flagpole. Kinda like Waters felt when Dave, Nick, Bob, and Rick made a Pink Floyd album. Maybe not as bad as that. It's enough to put a taint on a concert, especially when you've got to drive 6 hrs. On top of this insult, Rog should have stuck to the game plan, screen or no screen. That's what the tour was supposed to be about, not playing hockey arenas and these shitty ampitheaters, it's like going to the mall, with $5 beers.
Mars > I am in the Denver area, and I am going get 2 tickets for this show in Atlanta. I have never been to Atlanta, but have always wanted to go. I have never seen Roger either and have been dying to see him live. I have a chance to do both, I am looking for anyone in the Denver Area that is interested in going. I haven't decided if I am going to drive or fly. I hear there is one way tickets for $69. Anyone interested, Please email me [email protected].
Brent Bridgeman > OK, now I AM pissed! Went to Ticketheister and got my new tickets (got a refund on the Chastain exchange), and I was first in line and got my tickets right at noon. Well, now I'm in section 207! Worse than the 204 I would have had! Anyone else want to do a class action suit? This is bullshit! I had 6th row tickets at Chastain and now I have these crappy seats? I should just go create my own mosh pit by throwing someone out of MY seats!
Enough bitching. The guy I was in line with was from England, and he told me that his brother lives in Portugal, and last year he was sitting in a cafe and two guys sat down at the next table, being pretty raucous and having fun. Well, a street musician comes along and is playing "Wish You Were Here", and these two guys break out laughing. When the musician asks why, they say "We wrote that son!" And it is Gilmour and Waters, together. He says his brother ran home and looked up their pictures and it was indeed them. Now, this is a second-hand story, and I know it could be an urban legend, but it sounds pretty authentic. Roger doesn't sound so bitter in his recent interviews, he just doesn't want to do the Floyd thing again. You never know, it could have been them...wish I were there.
David Gilmor > CLICK HERE for PRE / POST show meeting information.

The experiences of the administration establishment that we all have had was obviously also experienced by Roger Waters by his lyrics 22 years ago when he gave us "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" where he explains about the "Well healed big wheels with their heads down in the pig bin saying keep on digging, pig stain on there fat chin what do they hope to find down in the pig mine"?""".. $$$ The up side is that the screen is 80' tall so I really think we're all in for a treat. I saw the Pros & Cons and the KAOS tours. There wasn't a disappointing moment.

George Wright > All I can say about the switch from Chastain to Lakewood is GOOD!!. That place sucks! Here's why. Their concert plan is only based around those with unlimited money. I knew about Roger coming here months ago but couldn't get tickets unless I poured more of my (very limited) money for shows I could care less about. I've been there in the past and people who are there are absolutely oblivious to whoever is performing and talk and chat throughout the show which you can't hear because of there "noise ceiling". I now have tickets and am ecstatic and I will be there with fellow Water's fans; not Chastain groupies AND I will be able to hear him. I'm probably the only Georgian who believes Amused to Death to be among his finest work ever and can finally see it live (some of it). For those who really want to be at Chastain; go there anyway, play a Water's cd at about volume level 3, eat some brie cheese and sip your wine, talk about your day at work and you won't even notice he wasn't there. See ya' at the show!
Ken > Alright George!!! That's tell them like it is. I've done Chastain many times over the years and you're exactly right. You are not the only Georgian (actually from Philly, been here ten years now) who believes that ATD is a masterpiece . Leave your email address or email me so we can hook up.
Dave H. > Hey Ken, a poster on the ATD message board mentioned a restaurant/bar "on the grounds" up the hill between 2 gates. Can you give more info on this place? (Sunday hours, Name, shared parking with venue within walking distance of main entrance?, etc.) we would like to arrive at lakewood early and not have to move our vehicle once we're there. it would be nice to have somewhere to get out of the heat without driving off premises. see ya'll in 7 days!!!
Jeff > It's been a long time!

*** OLD COMMENTS *** The following comments were submitted before the venue was changed to Lakewood Amphitheater.
Concert Ken > Needs tickets. Seen every tour since '77. Missed out when they went on sale. Only need one, possibly, two tickets. Thanks!!!
Jason DeGraf > Come on Atlanta folks, we are coming a long way, pick the spot and we are there!
Canito > Flying 10 hours from Lima, Perz. Any help about hotels near Chastain, anybody?
Charles Turbiville > I'm driving 1,000 miles from Texas to see Roger, and wouldn't mind meeting somepeople crazier or as crazy as myself. I've never been to Atlanta but know of a few good bars, or so I'm told (see PRE-Concert listing). I'm staying at the JW Marriot, I got it for $100/ night through priceline.com. We're all goinf to see Roger Waters!!!!! I'M 22 years old so this is my first chance to see him. I've heard rumors of a second leg of the tour and Roger coming to Texas, but I'm taking no chances. I'm going to see Roger if it kills me!!!!!
Eric > Looking for anymore info from the local folks on hotels, get-togethers etc. Have been anticipating this since missing out on the '87 KAOS tour. Hope to see everyone there! Mahalo!
Scott Hurley > I need hotel info close to the venue.
Faisal Moro > Just need some help as i will come from Italy to see the concert. If you have any useful news please mail me. Thanx.
Richard McCray > There are no close hotel/motel accommodations in the chastain park area. The area is residential so be prepared to find housing that is , from what I told , is at least 5 miles away.
Scott Hurley > I already have seats, but I'm interested in up-grading. Anyone have extra seats for tade or sale? Is there anybody out there????????? Also, let's nail down a pre-concert meeting place.
Bruno Barreyra > Is anybody taping this? : )
Chris Brewer > The concert has moved from Chastain to Lakewood. Let's hope our seats remain the same...

COMMENTS:
Keith > A large Hoosier welcome! Deer Creek is a special place, tucked away amidst the cornfields northeast of Indy. Basically the parking lot IS the meeting place. All the roads and highways deliver you to the entrances. Tailgating is welcome, just get there early - 7:29 start time! My advice if you're coming from the NORTH: take Hwy 32(Noblesville Main St.) east, across Hwy 37, and follow the signs. Access from I-69 can be a drag. The 32/37 way lands you in a smaller, easier parking lot than from I-69. Don't worry about the 'early' start time. Unlike Pine Knob, the sun sets behind the stage at Deer Creek. Get ready for a wonderful show!!!
*** Email me if you need TWO tickets. Miscomms caused me to overbuy, and I have two LOWER PAVILLION extras. And guess what? I won't gouge you on the price. First come, first serve... peaceout :- }
Will Taber > The Omni North has been a common place for the artists to spend the night. I partied with the Allman Bros there in 1994 - had a great time!
Robert Goodman > (PREconcert) Parking lot is a HUGE meeting place---best place I can reccomend is maybe 1/2 hr before the show everyone meet at the footbridge right in front of the entry/box office gate. I will be at the water fountain on the left side of the stage (when facing the stage). At intermission--I would love to meet any of you that I miss before the show. Security is tight there at the door--so be careful if planning to sneak in recording equipment. Usually they only have detector wands at the metal shows like Ozzfest. I will be wearing my black Roger shirt from this tour and i have dark hair and a goatee--if you see me in the crowd yell at me : ) See ya there! (POSTconcert) Hmmm...I will probably have to get back after the show since I work the next day :( I will leave that to someone who knows Indy better than me. Anyone heading north afterwards--we always hit the Steak and Shake in Kokomo on the way back---the one on the LEFT of the road (there are two).
Robert Goodman > (POSTconcert) I goofed - I was tired when i gave you the post-Deer Creek show info. I should have said when heading north on us31--the steak and shake on the left once you enter stop-light hell (5 or 6 stoplights within 2 miles). Hope that helps. Thanks!
Michael Rankin > (PREconcert) Being in it's location, the parking lot is the only logical place for a party/pre-concert gathering. There are lots of ways to converge on Deer Creek, from every concievable direction.
(POSTconcert) I think of no convienient post-concert meeting place. I will be heading toward Richmond on State Road 38 but I can't imagine too many other people going back that way.
If Andy Reynolds or Carl Hayes is attending this show. Meet me in the main concession area 1/2 hour before the show, I'll be located close to the picnic tables or trees in the center.
Scott Hendricks > Meet at my bus. No lot action at any shows. This is the last show, lets party. Look for the red OR white bus. I'm willing to trade any music. I will have lots on hand, all cds. Any one wanna trade, seek me out. POSTconcert meet back at the bus again. TEAR DOWN THE WALL!!!!!!
Mick G. > I'll have on a blue t-shirt with a sun on the front and a quarter man in the moon on the back.... Deer Creek is not a good venue. It's a shed & every time I've been, very poor sound. i'm sure this will be differant. NOTHING is allowed in other than bottled water and blankets, and the usual stuff. You'll be patted down and if carring a bag they'll take a look inside. Anyway if you see a older guy with salt and pepper hair in his hippie tee shirt with his blonde girl friend stop and say "High". If not ... On with the show....
(PREconcert) Deer Creek's parking is easy to get into but a pain to get out of so a post gathering would most likely work best. I was there over the 4th of July and it was an hour before we could start the car, and another 30 min to exit...and maybe not the way you want to head... stay calm. By the way i think it's like $7.00 to park... pigs. (POSTconcert) The parking lot...If any plans are made let me know ...M'kay? (Hotels) hey pick a fave 800 # ask for something around Carmel, Noblesville, the I -465/ 69 area. Always Peace....
Robert Goodman > Change of plans---I will be wearing a brown Ummagumma shirt that I just bought - with a picture on the back of a shirt, with a picture of a shirt on it,etc...-and I now have buzzed hair. Typically we park on the left side right as you come in (right after the "pay me" people...thats usually our spot). Parking is $6-8 (the b*stards!). I will try to find that *party van* afterwards : ) Anyone interested in sticking around to see if he signs autographs?

Randy Borror > pre and post concert meetings: not sure of a good place for before or after. I am not 21 yet so I cant get into any bars. there really isn't anything else near the place. it's sort of out in the middle of nowhere. Also, I am coming from a suburb of St Louis in illinois so maybe a seperate meeting place for the Illinoisans to meet and travel en masse?
Mike Hake > (Preconcert) There is a cool place close by the doubletree inn called "DAVE & BUSTERS" It is a combination Pool tables, food, and virtual reality sensory games. Also you have a bar a couple miles from site called "Cadillac Jacks." (Postconcert) A bar a couple miles from site called "Cadillac Jacks." Located off of St. Charles Rock road west of 270 on the left handed side. There is plenty to do in and around the Riverport area. There is a casino located a fe hundred yards away. Also the St. Charles riverfront area has several rock and roll bars for after the show. I am looking for better tickets.

Jon > My seats are very close to the stage (Stage left) (3 rows up) I am willing to trade my 2 tickets for floor seating E-mail me for further info.
Tom Crain > Hotels are becoming scarce for that weekend so you better start looking now if you don't have one. The Best Western was the closest one to Kemper that i could find that had any rooms left.

It is anticipated that the Roger Waters "In The Flesh" Tour will resume with a series of West Coast dates in Spring 2000.

Material for Waters' shows presents a full cross-section of his music drawing primarily from the repertoire of songs penned for Pink Floyd as well as selections culled from his solo albums including "Amused To Death." Waters cofounded the groundbreaking Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett in 1966 and became the group's sonic architect upon Barrett's departure, creating such undeniable classics as "The Dark Side Of The Moon," "The Wall," "Animals," "Wish You Were Here," and "Final Cut."

Roger Waters (guitar, vocals, and bass) is touring with a full band of top-flight musicians featuring Snowy White (guitar), Andy Fairweather-Low (guitar), Doyle Bramhall II (guitar and vocals), Graham Broad (drums), Jon Carin (keyboards and vocals) P. P. Arnold (backing vocals) and Katie Kissoon (backing vocals).
