It's almost summer-time again, and that means festivals. The pick of the crop this year is probably the Pav Corporation's Glenworth Vally Weekender '99 which will showcase not only the cream of Australian talent but also host some of the best performers this little planet has to offer including Foo Fighters, Fountains of Wayne, Suede and The Offspring.

EVENT BRIEF
Glenworth Valley Weekender 99 is a three-day music festival which will
take place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October.  Located on a picturesque
2,500 acre private property approximately one hour north of Sydney.
Glenworth Valley will focus on providing a safe and controlled environment
with quality entertainment and attractions.  Festival patrons will
experience three days of entertainment, 200 acres of riverside camping,
cinema, amusement arcades, rides, late night club areas, healing field,
food fair, markets stalls and other youth based activities.

Gates will open at 12pm Friday 1st October and close 12pm Monday 4th
October.

PERMITTED - THOSE WISHING TO CONSUME ALCOHOL MUST BRING PHOTO ID.

HOW TO GET TO GLENWORTH VALLEY

GVW99 is located 1 hour north of Sydney (near Gosford)
By car from Sydney - take the F3 freeway all the way to the Peats Ridge
exit (Those travelling from Newcastle take the second Peats Ridge exit).
Head along Peats Ridge Road until you reach Cooks Road which takes you
straight down to Glenworth Valley.

By train:
Trains run from Central and Newcastle on a frequent basis for more info
call 131 500 or check out their website at www.cityrail.nsw.gov.au

Festival shuttle service:
PUBTREK Australia will provide a regular shuttle service, which will run
between Gosford Station and the festival site.
A $5 charge per person one way will apply. This will also include the
second half of the journey into the property.

All times will be subject to change in the event of a traffic jam or
something behond our control.

All buses will be marked with PUBTREK shuttle.. (Glenworth Valley).

GENERAL A-Z INFORMATION

ACTIVITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment for the weekend includes the following:-

Open air cinema
An open-air late night cinema will screen popular movies such as Austin
Powers, Baraka, Grease, Barbarella, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels &
Blade Runner (original cut).

Healing field
The healing area will provide more spiritual and include massage, yoga,
tarot, meditation and aromatherapy etc.

Late Night Clubs
Glenworth Valley Weekender 99 has three resident clubs - Pure Pop, Club
Kooky and Firehouse - all  happening nightly from around 11pm - 4am.

	*Pure Pop
	Stretching over 3 nights club sounds will be brought to you by the
folks at Pure Pop. 			Featuring pure indie pop with DJ's
Melle and V spinning the best sounds of Britain - dropping everything from
retro classics The Jam, David Bowie and The Smiths, to the latest wave with
Oasis, Blur, Radiohead and the Chemical Brothers.

	*Club Kooky
	Club Kooky featuring the kooky beats and sounds of Tsuyushi Suzuki,
DJ Gemma, Seymour Butz, Boo Boo & Mace, Juju Space Jazz, Artificial & Pavo
Cristatus

	*Firehouse
	Firehouse. A musical excursion of Drum & Bass from the hey day of
reggae to the sounds of 	contemporary Jamaica. Featuring Jeff Dread
L Static, Mark-O, Nardo, Ras Ronni (singer) & Rassiah (DJ).

Internet café
For those who fancy a coffee break and surf on the net, an Internet café
will be set up on site.

Food & markets
The Glenworth Valley menu will comprise of dishes from all around the
world.  The selection will be large and varied, with the emphasis
remaining on quality.

Amusement Arcade
Pool tables, air hockey, fussball, pinball machines and all the latest in
arcade games (Rally Daytona , ManxTT, Suzuka 8hr, House of Dead, Time
Crisis) along with the  classics (Space Invaders, Defender Centiede,
Pacman, hyper Olympics).


Interactive Entertainment Area
Featuring Australia's only free standing inflatable rock climbing &
abseiling mountain, a dual lane horizontal bungee jumping, the velcro
Barfly Wall, the Titanic Slide & the Gladiator Duel. Fun for everyone! For

ALCOHOL
GVW99 is a licenced event.  NO GLASS and NO BYO - those wishing to consume
alcohol at the event MUST BRING PHOTO ID.

ANIMALS
Animals are not permitted on site.

BANKING
Eftpos terminals will be available on site.

CAMPING AREAS
Dedicated camping areas offering a 24 hour general store / cafe and camp
site marshalls on site to patrol the area and assist with any questions.
Toilet and shower facilities will also be available in the camping areas.

Festival campsites provide ideal working conditions for thieves.  Never
leave valuables in your tent and don't bring anything to the festival that
you would hate to lose.

Tents are very flammable so camp-fires are not permitted.  Be careful with
gas cookers - make sure you light them outside your tent and smoke with
care!

ONLY GAS COOKERS - NO OPEN FIRES!

DRUGS
Drugs are just as much illegal on the festival site as they are off it.
The sale or display is strictly forbidden and police will be patrolling
the site.

Please remember that anything taken to excess is a bad idea and drugs can
be life threatening.  If you happen to see someone in trouble, please
notify event staff or St Johns immediately.

EARPLUGS
If you plan to spend a lot of time in a noisy environment, earplugs are
highly recommended.

FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED
Viewing platforms and toilets will be provided.

ST JOHNS / FIRST AID
There will be first aid available from the medical tent if needed.  We
will also have emergency services on site throughout the weekend.

INFORMATION OFFICE
The information offices will answer any general questions relating to bus
and train schedules, where to find stalls, site directions and performance
times.  These offices will also function as Lost Property offices,
therefore any lost property can be handed in at these locations.

Lost property that is not collected by 12pm Monday the 4th of October will
be handed over to the local Police.

MEETING POINTS
Meeting points will be located at on site.  Message boards will be set up
at these points.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography with ordinary hand held cameras is permitted, however video
recording is forbidden.

RUBBISH AND RECYCLING
Although there will be a cleaning company on site, please be considerate
with your rubbish and place it in the bins provided.  If you will require
extra bin bags for you camp site area, please inform the camp site
marshall's who will be able to supply you with extra bags.  Please also
try to recycle your rubbish by using the receptacles provided as far as
possible.

TELEPHONES
Telephones will be available on site for use.

THEFT
Please report all thefts to the on site police head quarters where an
official report can be made.

TOILETS
Toilets will be available throughout the festival site and camping areas.
Hot showers will also be available in the camping areas.

WRISTBANDS
Once your wristband is put on, you are responsible for it.  If it has been
lost, cut off or tampered with, it will become void.
