So who the hell am I?

Well,
I was born in Allahabad, INDIA in 1971.
I was in India until I was about 9 and half years old. Then in 1981,
my family relocated to Houston,
Texas
in the US. While I was in India, I lived in Allahabad, Benaras, Poona,
and Ahemdabad. I have not visited India since I came to the US.
Most of my immediate family is here in the US. I hope to visit India
some day soon. From what I understand, India is now completely
different then what it used to be when I was there last. Its more
modern with modern values. I hear there is too much pollution there
now and people are becoming more and more selfish day by day.
Well I have an update on this. I went to
India this March (2000). I had a really good time. Yes, the
pollution is bad and yes there is a lot of poverty and dirtiness there.
Irregardless I ahd an awesome time. People may not know when their
next meal will be, but they are happy. I heard from the grapevine
that someone somewhere developed a happiness quotient, and the people of
India seemed to be the happiest. I hope to go back there again soon.
The food was excellent. There is so much diversity there. It
is amazing how India survives but it does. Expect the unexpected.

Currently, I am working in Dallas, Texas for TI (Texas Instruments, Inc.). I am also attending the part time MBA program at SMU (Southern Methodist University) in the Cox School of Business. I must say that school totally sucks. Going to work full time and then attending school leaves little time for me to enjoy and do the things I like to do. I keep on telling myself that in the end it will all pay off. I certainly hope so, otherwise I will have to go "postal" on every one's buttox.
I did my undergraduate studies at Texas A & M University (TAMU). People often wonder what "A&M" stands for. Well, it stands for Agriculture and Mechanical. Students of A&M are referred to as AGGIES. I received my bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. I admit there was not much to do at A&M while I was there, but I am glad that I went there because of the friends I have made. A little bit about A&M...
A&M is located in a small town in Texas called College Station. The school is everything. Without it, College Station would not be able to survive. A&M is a very traditional school with a lot of customs such as the Bonfire. We hold the world's record for the tallest bonfire ever built. Unfortunately, A&M is also very conservative, but it's getting better. The campus is very clean and well maintained and beautiful. It's also one of the largest campuses in the world area wise. Much of the student body embodies the well-reknowned Aggie spirit of the 12th Man. To learn more about Aggie customs and traditions, click here.
As far as my hobbies and interests are concerned, I like to do what
most other people like to do for fun (at least most of my hobbies and interests
fall into that category): watch movies, go out, play basketball and badminton,
and travel. My other unusual hobby includes music. I am an
amateur DJ. I spin vinyl records on turntables or wheels of steel
as they are known in the business. Click

I am also a VEGETARIAN. That is correct people. I do not eat meat. That means I do not eat animals. Just to clarify, I include all animals. I do not eat fish. I do not eat cows. I do not eat pigs. I do not eat chicken. I do eat lambs. I do not eat dogs. I do not eat cats. Get the picture. In short, I do not eat anything which has eyes on it with the exception of potatoes. My perspective on VEGETARIANISM:
Call me crazy, but I think there is a direct correlation between violence and people who eat meat. Think about it. Nations that are almost strictly vegetarian have hardly any history in violence. Look at Nepal for instance. I have never heard of that country ever entering into war. Countries where there are more vegetarians have a lower crime rate. For example let's compare US with India. The US is billed as the greatest country in the world because there is so much convenience in the US and so much opportunity, yet the rate of violent crimes, especially homicide, in the US is much higher than that of India. This should be the other way around. People in India have a much lower standard of living. Not to mention, the amount of space per person is also much lower in India, i.e. the population density of India is about 3 times higher than that of the US. So, with this in mind, which country should have the greater crime rate? The India of course. But what reverses the scale? Vegetarianism. I have noticed that people who eat meat are generally more barbaric in nature. Also, humans were designed by nature to be vegetarians. People have flat teeth which are good for biting fruits and chewing vegetables. Sharks and canines have sharp pointed teeth which are good for biting and tearing meat. These animals can eat meat naturally; humans can only eat vegetables and fruits naturally. Meat has to be cooked. And not only that, eating meat has several side problems like infections. We have all heard of Mad Cow Disease, but I have yet to hear of a Mad Apple Disease or a Mad Cucumber Disease. People know that killing animals is a violent act, yet they succumb to their buds and ignore better judgemnet and still choose to consume animals for food. Think about it. In cartoons and TV commercials and programs, people are seen picking fresh fruits and vegetables off the plants and eating them, however, one never sees an animal being murdered, even on cooking shows. Humans are innately vegetarian. Eating meat is a learned quality like prejudice. For example, put an apple and chicken in front of a starving baby. Which potential food item will it go for? I think I have made my point here. What else? I am politically liberal. Live and let live. I do not like a lot of things, but that does not mean that difference is bad. I do not like country music, so does it mean that country music is bad? I think so, but others might argue. I cannot understand why people have a hard time accepting other people. Every body on this planet is an individual. No two people are exactly alike - not even identical twins. So then why are we so judgmental? People discriminate against each other for the smallest of things. We need to learn to accept each others' differences and embrace them as strengths and not weaknesses. All people bleed the same color blood and feel the same pain. All people want the best for themselves and the best for the people they love. So why does one need to elevate himself or herself by reducing others? Diversity is the key to survival. Pick up any genetics book and this will be the case with all of them. In the word's of one of my favorite bands Depeche Mode,
"... People are people, so why should it be, that you and I get along so awfullyI think life is too short for people to be prejudice. Think about it. Let's assume that the average life span of any given person in the world is 70 years. Out of which, the first 20 years are spent learning about one-self and defining what one stands for. The next 35 years are spent harboring extreme responsibilities such as job and family. The next 15 years, a human's body starts to deteriorate at an alarming pace. People at this stage are more worried about their health and which pill to take and at what time. So in actuality, whatever free time there is for me in life, I want to spend it having fun and partying and not thinking about hating other people. So what would you rather be doing, jamming to some awesome music or burning a cross in an innocent person's yard? I am not claiming to be perfect - far from it. I too am guilty of prejudging people. It's hard not to when society at large has such a big influence on the public to conform to a general consensus. I am trying to be what I want to be and not what society thinks i should be. Every day I make progress. If there were no individuals, we as a singular race of people would be so far behind. Only birds were meant to fly. God would have given wings to man if he wanted man to fly. If every one believed that narrow-minded bull, we would all still be uneducated idiots, picking and eatings ticks off of each other. But being a person of a rational mind, I beleive conforming to society's stereotypes of people is hindereing our advancements and may eventually lead to the downfall of the humans.
... Please help me understand, what makes a man hit another man..."
Another big disappointment to me is religion - yet another source of segregation instilling the, "I am better than you are" mentality in people. I am an engineer by profession and hence I deal with logic. Right now, I am not going to touch the idea of "god" with a 10 foot pole. I think I will do enough offending just writing about religion. I think religion is a bunch of crock and has inhibited the advancement of the human race by at least 500 years. More blood has been shed in the name of religion and god than any of the wars combined. Religion has been used as an excuse to benefit those who are power hungry and keep a people down. Hitler, on the basis of religion, killed thousands, nay millions of Jews. There is solid proof of that. However, the irony is that even with what we know about the Holocaust, most Muslims, especially the ones in the Middle East believe that the Holocaust was a hoax and only a handful of Jews died. White people in America realized the "Manifest Destiny - extend the country from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean" by killing off the Natives of the land. But doesn't Christianity preach, "Thou shall not kill". Well, the White Americans did not consider the Natives to be Christian, thus the value of a Native's life was not worth much. How came about slavery in the US? The original African Americans in the US were not considered to be Christian and thus they were expendable heathens. Another example, in Islam it is all right to kill someone in the name of god. This came from a religious Islamic student from Pakistan which I met at Texas A&M. In India today, Hindus and Muslims continually fight and murder each other in broad daylight because they blame their political station in life on religion. So I ask, does a Hindu when cut, feel a different sensation then a Christian? Christian, Jews, and Muslims believe that it is their duty to convert somebody to their religion. In fact, they believe that it is the most pious act, because they believe that if a person is non Christian, non Muslim, or a non Jew, he or she is destined to go to hell. Hindus believe that there is one god but has different names. So is a Muslim not a Hindu then? Hindus are vegetarian because they believe that killing an animal is a vile act and they are destroying god's creatures. Then isn't a Muslim god's creature as well? I want to reiterate the fact that if there is one right religion, then why are there so many? And why has not the right one emerged? Why do we still kill people from other religions? Why do we still base prejudices on religion? It maybe hard to believe, but the main function of religion is to bring people together in a social atmosphere within the community for the betterment of that community. Going to church is a social event and not a religious one. That is just an excuse. If people believe that god is omnipotent then they know that being good in the church does not erase all the sins that one commits in the society. God is everywhere. He is there when a church-goer is drinking, using the bathroom, going to work, beating the kids, cheating on the exam, etc. My point is that going to a church, temple, or mosque means absolutely nothing. What a person does in real life means everything. So why go to church - socialize and show-off the Sunday clothes and the expensive cars and brag about the kids. Remember, even if you are a believer, without people there is no GOD, at least not in our reality.
