The next day, Sharon woke up in a bad mood as usual. She was not a morning person. Nick was already up and had made breakfast. He gave Sharon a kiss as she walked into the kitchen.
"Morning, love. I made breakfast, I hope you're hungry." Nick said.
"Just gimme some coffee."
"Oh...ok." Nick poured Sharon a cup of coffee as she turned to the first pages of the paper. All of a sudden there was a knock at the door.
"Damn it, this better be good." Sharon said as she went to answer it.
She opened the door to be greeted by two girls around the age of 15.
"Who are you?!" Sharon asked. The girls seemed pretty nervous.
"Is Nick home?" one of them asked. This only helped fuel Sharon's anger.
"Yeah, may I ask who the hell you two are?"
"We're fans, can we talk to him?" the girl said.
"How about this: I'll give two seconds to get off my property before I slam you both into the ground. One..." The two girls ran away. Sharon went back into the kitchen and explained the situation. She took her anger out on Nick.
"Nick I don't like this one bit. Girls are always after you, you can't even go out in public anymore! You're MY boyfriend, why don't they understand that???"
"Listen, it annoys me too but there's really nothing we can do about it. I'm in a boy band, whether you like it or not, and girls will be after me. They couldn't care less about you or the fact that you're with me. All I can do is ignore them." Nick explained.
"Well, I know what else we can do. We can get a gate built outside of our house to keep these stupid bitches from coming up to our door. Can you believe how rude that is?" Sharon asked. Nick's mind was still on the gate situation and how much money it would put him back.
"Babe, let's just wait and see if it happens again. If it really turns into a problem, we'll build the gate. Don't you think we've been a little too frivolous with our money lately?" Nick asked.
"Oh, don't you mean that I'VE been a little too frivolous with YOUR money lately?? Why don't you just come out and say what you really mean?!"
"No, that's not what I mean at all! It's just...I'm not working right now and I won't be until we go on tour again next summer."
"Wait, so now you're going on tour this summer? Jesus, Nick, you never tell me anything! I don't know how I feel about this, where am I gonna fit in during this tour?"
"I assumed you would come with me." Nick said. He was getting pretty fed up with her at this time.
"You know I have school. If the tour is only going to be during the summer then I guess it'll be ok. How long will it be?" she asked.
"Up until November, and then we'll start again in January." he replied.
"Fuck that. This is bullshit, Nick. I have to put my entire life on hold just for you! Don't you realize that?" she asked.
"I can't believe how selfish you are!" Nick screamed, startling Sharon. She began backing away from him slowly. She had never seen him so angry.
"I have done EVERYTHING for you. I pay for all of your frivolous needs, your car, your school, your food, everything! I support your drinking habit and take your bullshit every fucking day. All you do is find faults in me, you don't appreciate anything I do for you! Last night I thought that you had changed a little but as soon as you woke up you were back to your old ways. Don't forget that you have been and will always be a guest in MY house, do you understand?" Nick was grabbing her by the shoulders at this point. Unfortunately, Sharon was sober and not as brave as usual. She was shaking with fear. All she could do was stand and listen to everything he had to say. He let go of her and left the house. She could hear his car pulling off and driving away. Sharon collapsed on the kitchen floor and sobbed.
**********Brian's House
The doorbell rang, and Brian went to answer it. He saw a disgruntled Nick standing at his doorstep.
"Hey Bri can I come in?" Nick asked.
"Yeah, of course. You look a little shaken up."
"Yeah, I am." Nick said. He went on to tell Brian everything that had just happened at his place.
"Whoa, that's some pretty heavy stuff. But I have to tell ya, I'm happy you finally told that wench the truth. It's time you moved on from her, man. She's nothin but trouble." Brian said.
"I don't know...I feel awful. I love her so much, how could I have said those things? I invited her to come live with me, assuring her that I would take care of her with no strings attached. I told her that what was mine was hers, and this morning I took all of that back. And I attacked her about her drinking, I promised I'd never do that. I just don't know how much more of it I can take, you know? I love her, but I can't put up with this anymore. I guess I'll go home and apologize, I don't know what the hell I was thinking. What if she leaves me? By now she's probably drunk and back to her old self. Shit...she's gonna kill me!" Nick said, panicking.
"She's not gonna do anything. If you go back to her I will have no respect for you, Nick. She's treating you like crap, can't you see that?" Nick was about to mention that Catey was not at all the sweet girl Brian thought she was, but decided against it.
"Then what should I do?" asked Nick.
"Call her and tell her to get out by tonight." Brian said.
"I can't! I still love her, I don't think I'd be able to handle breaking up."
"Nick, you think you need her but you don't. There are tons of girls out there that would appreciate and love you the way she never will. You're a Backstreet Boy, take advantage of it." Brian said.
Nick sighed. "I guess I should just stay here a while and wait for things to cool down. I have to think things more clearly, plus I'm afraid to go back. Who knows how much she's been drinking by this time."
"Good idea, spend the night here. Sleep on it. You know where I stand."
"Thanks, Brian, I appreciate your help."
****************Nick's House
Sharon had been drinking all day. She was depressed over Nick and didn't know how to handle it. She knew that everything he had said was true, but by drinking she was able to make herself believe that he was being an asshole. She wanted to leave, but where would she go? She could go to a hotel but she would have to use Nick's credit cards for it. She knew she wouldn't be welcome back home and going to Catey seemed like a bad idea, too. She wasn't the most understanding person in the world. Suddenly, Sharon got an idea. She picked up the phone and started dialing.
"Hello?"
"AJ...its Sharon. I need your help, can I come over?" AJ instantly forgot about everything that had happened the previous night. He thought with his dick, not with his brain.
"Of course you can come over. I'll be here," he said.
"Ok, thanks." Sharon hung up and began packing her stuff.
