Nick slept by himself that night. Sharon had fallen asleep in her study while doing homework and he didn't bother to wake her up. The alarm went off at 4:30 that morning, giving Nick and Sharon an hour to get ready before she drove him to the airport. He woke up and realized she wasn't in bed with him, so he went to her study to get her up.
"Hey," he said, nudging her awake.
"Mmm...what? What is it?" Sharon asked, being quite disheveled from sleep.
"Its time to get ready, you have to drive me to the airport in an hour."
"Shit...what time is it? Where are you going again?"
Nick inwardly sighed. "I told you a thousand times all ready. We're going to TRL and doing some promo stuff there, and a little in Boston. Then we're flying to LA to shoot the video."
"Wait, wait, wait, what's this about a video shoot? You only told me about the promo stuff. You never tell me anything anymore! How long will you be gone?" Sharon asked. She was beginning to become more awake.
"Only about a week. I'm gonna go take a shower. Get ready." Nick said as he exited the room. He was in an especially bad mood that morning, Sharon assumed it was due to the fight they'd gotten into the previous night. This morning wasn't helping matters any more, so she decided to get dressed and speak to him as little as she possibly could. She entered their bedroom just as Nick was walking out of their bathroom in a towel.
"Are you done with the shower?" Sharon asked.
"Yeah but I still have to get dressed," he replied. With that he chose his outfit and went back into the bathroom to change.
"What, so he can't even get DRESSED in front of me anymore? Fuckin asshole" Sharon thought as she chose her outfit while patiently waiting for Nick to be finished. He finally came out, fully dressed.
"I'm going downstairs to get some breakfast. Hurry up," he said. Sharon forced herself not to give a snappy reply. She went into the bathroom and began to get ready instead.
**********During the car ride to TIA (Tampa International Airport)
Sharon and Nick hadn't said one word to each other during the entire 30-minute car ride. When they got there, his bodyguards were waiting outside for him. Nick carried his luggage and brought it inside the airport to have it checked. He had still not exchanged a word with Sharon.
"SO, are we just not gonna say one word to each other before you go? I mean I didn't HAVE to give you a ride, you know," Sharon stated.
"That's right, always thinking about yourself. Never mind the fact that I'm leaving for a week, do you even want to say goodbye?" Nick asked.
"Well I WANT to but how CAN I if you're giving me the cold shoulder?"
At this point the two had approached the rest of the guys and their bodyguards outside of their gate. They were receiving uncomfortable looks from everyone who had overheard the end of their little dispute. The looks didn't stop them.
"Yeah, I've been giving you the cold shoulder. How do you think I feel knowing that my girlfriend is considering not even living with me anymore or going on tour with me? I'm not stupid, what you're basically saying is that you may break up with me. Right??" Nick was practically screaming at this point.
"NICK, please lower your voice. Can't we talk about this later???" Sharon looked around and noticed that all eyes were on them. The other members of the group were pretty nosey and had no shame.
"NO, you chose to wait until now to talk about it so it has to happen NOW."
"Nick, you're such a girl. LISTEN to yourself." This comment received a couple chuckles from the guys which were soon stopped by Nick's glare.
"Fine, you wanna talk about it later? How about when I get back? Don't bather calling my cell phone while I'm away, I won't answer it." The guys all "oohed" at that one.
"Nick...have it your way. I'm outta here." Sharon quickly left because she could feel herself tearing up. As soon as she got into her car she began sobbing. She sped all the way home running through numerous red lights. She didn't know how she would make it through the week knowing that Nick was so angry at her. They had never gone a whole week without speaking. She went over to the bar in their home but it was empty. Their liquor cabinet in the living room was pretty low, too, so she decided to take a trip to the liquor store. It would be a long week.
