I threw myself back down on the bed and cried my eyes out. I don't remember falling asleep, but the next thing I knew it was morning. I climbed out of the bed and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, showered, and changed into a pair of old jeans and a Gap shirt. I walked downstairs and found Dominique in the kitchen eating a bagel.
"Morning," I said sitting down across from her.
"AJ is looking everywhere for you," Dominique said.
"Is he?" I asked sounding surprised.
"Yes, he's been to everyone's house looking for you."
I shook my head and put a bit of cream cheese on a bagel and took a bite.
The nerve of AJ trying to find me after what he said. I looked up and saw Dominique watching me closely.
"What?" I asked.
"There's something you're not telling me."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes."
"Your right."
"I knew it!" Dominique yelled.
"Calm down. What I have to tell you I need to tell everyone. Call Hazel, Jessica, and Shannah and tell them to come over here now."
Twenty minutes later all of us were in the living room sitting on the couches. I sat down in the middle of Shannah and Jessica. "I wanted you all to be here because of course you know AJ and I are not talking right now. The reason for it is a bit more serious than our last fight."
"What's wrong?" Jessica asked.
I looked around at my new best friends and took a deep breath. "I'm pregnant," I said. The room was silent until Hazel spoke.
"How long have you known?"
"A few days, I told Shannah first and then AJ."
"And that pig man said something stupid, didn't he?" Jessica demanded.
"Basically he told me that I wasn't as important as he was and that his life was more ruined than mine," I said.
Everyone gasped and I nodded my head yes. We all sat there for a few hours discussing my problem. Hazel and Shannah thought I should talk to AJ while everyone else was totally against it.
"All he's gonna do is upset her and the baby doesn't need that," Dominique said.
"I don't know what to do," I moaned.
Everyone crowded around me as I cried. They told me it would be okay and that they'd be there for me. After awhile I smiled and told them they were all going to be godparents. We then started talking about baby names and clothes when the doorbell rang. Dominique got up to answer it and not two minutes later did I hear a huge commotion.
"Leave her alone," I heard Dominique yell.
AJ came in and said "Kelly I need to talk to you."
"Why, so you can make her feel like dirt again. Really AJ she's pregnant," Jessica said.
"This is between Kelly and I, no one else. And I don't appreciate you hiding her from me," AJ said.
"Stop, stop, stop. Come on AJ, I'll talk to you," I said.
I led him out of the house and on the front steps. I closed the door behind us and waited for him to begin.
"Why did you leave?"
"Why do you think AJ? You told me I wasn't as important as you because I didn't have a bunch of fans. Do you know how much that hurt?"
"I know, I know and I'm sorry. I was out of line when I said that, but that didn't give you the right to run off like a thief in the night when you are pregnant with MY child," AJ yelled.
"Your child? You didn't say that last night. I distinctly remember you saying that you were too young to be a father."
"I know what I said, what did you expect? I am 21 years old and you're 18, what the hell are we going to do?"
"I'm keeping it," I announced.
"What?"
"I said I'm keeping it and if you don't want to be a part of this baby's life tell me right now because if not then I'll get out of your life now," I said. I knew what I was saying was a bit drastic, but hey this was an important decision. If AJ didn't want to be apart of his child's life then that was on him. I knew I owned up to my responsibilities, but the question was-would he. I could just imagine what my mom was going to say when I called her and told her.
"I guess there's only one thing left to say," AJ said.
