It was a stormy night and raining hard. The group decided they would try to find a place to stop and stay the night. Not just because of the rain, but it was late and all of them were tired.
"Hey look! There's a castle up there. Why don't we check it out?" pointed out Nick.
"Ok, I'll stop there," responded Kevin.
"I'm not so sure we should. It looks kinda freaky," said Brian.
"Well let's just check it out. It won't hurt," suggested Howie.
"Let's hope," commented AJ.
They pulled up into the long driveway and up to the house. They all sat in the car for a few minutes just staring at the enormous house.
"Well, let's go in," suggested Kevin. They all slowly got out of the car. As the stepped out, they noticed that the rain had stopped. They walked up to the door with Kevin leading.
"Well... aren't you going to knock?" asked Nick in a quivering voice.
Kevin reached for the knocker and pounded it three times. They waited, but there was only silence. Kevin knocked again. They waited again. This time a young woman opened the door slightly. She was about 5'6" and her short, strawberry blonde hair gently rested upon her shoulders. She was wearing a light blue, long silk nightgown that made her eyes look crystal blue.
"Yes?" the woman asked.
"Um... we were driving... and it started to rain hard... and we're tired... and it's late... and we saw this place... and we were wondering if we could stay here the night...," Kevin stuttered out.
"Sure, we've got plenty of extra rooms. Come on in," responded the woman.
She opened the door all the way and they walked in.
"My name's Kevin. And this is Brian, AJ, Nick, and Howie," Kevin said while pointing to each of the guys.
"My name's Samantha, but most of my friends call me Sam. I was just getting ready for bed, so I'll show you to some rooms that you can stay in. Follow me," responded the woman.
They followed Samantha up the stairs. The house was huge and seemed to have many bedrooms.
"Do you live here by yourself?" asked Nick.
"No. My four best friends live here with me. They're already asleep. Here's one room." Samantha stopped.
"I guess I'll stay in this room. Thanks again," Howie walked in. He waited until Samantha and the rest of the guys started to walk, and then closed the door.
Samantha showed Brian, AJ, and Nick to their rooms too. Then it was just Kevin following Samantha.
She stopped again and said, "Well, here's your room. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. My room's just right next door. Night."
"Night," responded Kevin. Kevin stood there in the hall and watched Samantha walk to her room. Once her door closed, he walked into his room and closed the door behind him.
