Nick looked in the mirror for the twentith time to check his hair. He ran his hand through it and touseled a piece over his eyes.
"Does that look ok?" Nick asked as he turned to face Kevin and Brian who were playing around with the radio.
Brian looked up. "We told you, you're hair looks fine. It's that face you gotta worry about."
Nick's eyes filled with horror and he quickly turned to face the mirror. "My face!? What's wrong with my face?!?"
Brian laughed. "Calm down, man. I was only kidding."
Nick sat down on the hotel bed and Kevin sat down next to him.
"Nick," Kevin began. "You just gotta calm down and take it easy. You've been on dates before."
"Kev man, this one is different." He smiled. "I wanna sweep this girl off of her feet."
"Well, just a word of advice." Kevin said in his big brotherly tone of voice. "Take it slow because you heard her in the van this morning. She wants to get to know you as "friends". She isn't expecting anymore than that yet."
"I know." Nick told him. "I better get going."
Brian looked up from the radio. "Aren't you going to go get Sarah next door?"
"No, she went out with Abby and she said she would meet me at the beach."
Nick left the room and headed for the beach.
Meanwhile......AJ and Howie quietly tip-toed in front of the door to Brian's hotel room. They tried to hold back their laughter as Howie knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Came Brian's voice from the other side.
"House Keeping." Howie answered in a high pitched voice.
"Kev you go get it." Brian told him.
Kevin walked over to the door and opened it. As he did, AJ and Howie through water balloons at him and soaked him. Kevin stood there with his eyes closed, water dripping off of him.
AJ and Howie's eyes went wide when they noticed they'd soaked Kevin instead of Brian.
AJ began to laugh. "Sorry man, we didn't know you were in there with Brian."
Brian came walking to the door. "What's going on?" Just then he noticed Kevin and he burst out laughing.
"You guys are dead." Kevin laughed and chased Howie and AJ down the hallway with Brian laughing running after them.
Nick looked around the beach and took in the scent of the cool night ocean air. He loved the beach. When the time came for him to be married he wanted to build a beach house and live there forever. Just then he heard someone call his name. It was Sarah. He turned around and his breath caught in his throat. She looked beautiful. Her hair was swept up on top of her head in a french twist. A few loose strands blew across her face. She was wearing a green (Nick's favorite color) sundress that showed off her every curve.
"Hi!" Sarah smiled up at him. "I'm sorry I'm late but me and Abby lost track of time."
Nick laughed softly. "Don't worry about it."
It became silent and Sarah looked around. "So.....what do you feel like doing?"
Nick looked down toward the water. "Do you want to take a walk?"
"Sounds like a plan."
As they walked they talked about things they liked and thought were interesting. Nick was glad to find out that they had a lot of things in common. He decided that he wanted to take her hand. As they walked he brought his hand to hers and held it. She smiled at him and grasped his hand back. They walked and talked on the beach for almost two hours.
"It's getting late." Sarah told Nick. "We should be getting back to the hotel."
"Yeah." He looked at his watch. "They'll be looking for us soon."
There was a silent moment and they stared into each other eyes. Nick leaned forward and their lips met gently at first. Then Nick wrapped his arms around her and deepened the kiss. Their bodies were closer then closer. The kiss kept going for about another 15 seconds when Sarah pulled away. She just looked up at Nick, not knowing what to say.
Nick looked down. "I'm sorry, maybe I shouldn't have kissed you." She brought her eyes to meet his.
"Don't say you're sorry." Sarah took his hand in hers and smiled. "Come on, let's get back to the hotel."
When they got back Nick stopped at Sarah's hotel room door. "Goodnight." He smiled down at her.
She smiled back at him. "Goodnight." She kissed his cheek and disappeared into her room.
Nick skipped the rest of the way to his room. When he opened the door he burst out in laughter. Howie was laying on the floor soaked to the skin. AJ's body was flung over a chair dripping wet. Brian sat on the floor leaning against the wall soaked. And Kevin laid on the bed dripping also.
"What happened to you guys?" Nick laughed.
"Water balloon fight." They all answered in unison.
"You guys look hilarious. You should see yourselves." Nick laughed and pointed.
Howie, Brian, AJ, and Kevin looked at each other and smiled. They grabbed the water balloons that they had left beside them and threw them with all their might, hitting him square on target. Nick stopped laughing and stood there. The guys broke out in laughter and in a minute so did Nick.
