AJ pulled his BMW to stop in front of the red light and turned down the radio. "Kev man, can I talk to you?"
Kevin turned his head to face AJ. "Sure, what is it?"
"It's Laura." AJ said as he ran his hand up and down the stirring wheel.
"I thought that things were going good between you two." Kevin said.
The light turned green and AJ stepped on the gas again and began driving down the road still talking to Kevin. "Yeah things are great. But it's weird. I still think of her as my best friend but we just have sex all the time. I mean..don't get me wrong she's great and all but a relationship can't be based on just sex."
Kevin raised his eyebrows. "Is this AJ McLean talking here?"
"Come on man I'm not like that."
"I know you're not I'm just playin." Kevin reassured him. "Well, maybe you two shouldn't try the relationship thing."
AJ made a left turn. "But I'm afraid that if we go back to being just friends then it won't be the same because of all this. And I don't want to lose her friendship because I couldn't have asked for a better best friend than her."
"Have you talked to her about how she's feeling?" Kevin asked.
AJ shook his head. "No not yet. I don't want to hurt her either if she isn't thinking the same thing I am."
"Well why did you start a relationship in the first place?" Kevin wanted to know.
"Because I love her." AJ stopped at another red light. "But now I'm starting to wonder if its for the right reasons that we're together. We never talk anymore we're just all over each other."
"We both know a relationship can't be based on that." Kevin fixed his hair in the mirror over the sun visor. "And you better watch yourself. You don't want to end up getting her pregnant or something man."
The light turned green. "I know that man. I'm not stupid we had protection everytime."
"Just watch yourself." Kevin said in his big brother tone of voice. "And besides you shouldn't be sleeping with her if you don't want a serious relationship."
AJ pulled the car into a parking spot in front of the building where they were going to be doing a photo shoot for their next album. Kevin and AJ got out of the car and walked inside.
"I guess the fans didn't find out where we're doing this shoot." Kevin told AJ as they walked into the building.
AJ laughed softly. "Good thing."
When they walked in Kevin's mouth dropped open. There were Brian and Abby wrapped in each other's arms smiling. Howie walked over to them.
"About time you got your asses here." He told them.
Kevin pointed to Brian and Abby. "I thought that broke up."
Howie smiled. "Nope. Brian went after her right after she left. He missed her but he flew to PA to go get her."
AJ cooed, "Awe! Isn't that romantic. hehe"
Nick walked into the building.
"About time you got your ass here." Howie said to him.
AJ and Kevin looked at Howie and rolled their eyes. "You said the same thing to us."
"Yeah I know." Howie said. "I'm just in a mood or something."
"Guys," Brian addressed the group. He smiled. "We have an announcement to make."
"What is it?" AJ and Howie asked in unison.
"Abby and I are engaged." Brian told the group.
Everyone broke out into congratulations and hugging.
After the group stopped their little celebration Abby pulled Brian to the side away from everyone.
"I'm going to go to AJ's and talk to Sarah. She's my best friend and I hate knowing she hates me right now." Abby said sadly.
Brian wrapped his arms around her. "Things are going to work out. They always do."
"I hope so." Abby said. Her eyes slightly filled with tears, thinking of how Sarah told her that their friendship was over.
Brian pulled away slightly and caressed her cheek with his hand. "Smile for me sweetie."
Abby smiled softly.
Brian lifted her chin with his finger and kissed her lips softly. "I promise you everything is going to be perfect."
Abby softly kissed him back. "If you promise me that I know they will be. Because you never break a promise."
AJ'S HOUSE....
Abby stood at the front door and took a deep breath. She wanted Sarah to forgive her so much. But Abby knew that Sarah still hadn't forgiven Nick so she didn't think she had much of a chance. She knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.
Laura answered the door. "Oh, hi Abby."
"Hi Laura." Abby began. "I'm sorry to just drop in but is Sarah here?"
Just then Sarah stepped out from behind Laura. "What do you want?"
"I need to talk to you." Abby put her hands in her jean pockets to stop them from shaking.
"Excuse us Laura." Sarah smiled at her. Sarah walked out on to the porch and shut the door. "What is it?"
"Sarah, I am so sorry." Abby began with a shaky voice.
Sarah laughed slightly. "Do you have any idea how sick and tired I am of hearing sorry. Saying sorry is just a bunch of bull shit that doesn't matter. Sorry means nothing."
Abby looked away. "Then what do you want me to say? I don't want to lose our friendship over this. Brian forgave me and asked me to marry him. Why can't you forgive me?"
Sarah looked shocked. "Brian asked you to marry him after what you did?"
"God Sarah, you make it seem like I slept with him or something. It was a kiss that neither of us wanted to happen and if you would wise up and see that you could be with Nick now and don't tell me that you don't want to be with him because I know you fell for him Sarah."
Sarah went to walk into the house. "I don't want to hear it Abby."
Abby stood in her way. "You can't just ignore your feelings for him. And you can't just not forgive me because I'm your best friend and you know I didn't mean for what happened between me and Nick to happen. Admit it, you want to forgive me and you want to forgive Nick and you're just too damn stubborn to do it."
"I'm not listening to you Abby."
Abby continued to block the door. "You're not listening to me because you know I'm right."
"Get out of my way Abby!" Sarah ordered her.
"Sarah you're my best friend." Abby continued to talk. "I can't get married without you there to be my maid of honor. We've talked about it ever since we were little. We pinky swore each other we would be at each others wedding. You can't break years of our friendship up over Nick Carter!"
Tears began to stream down Sarah's face and she pulled Abby out of the way and ran inside and shut and locked the door.
Abby yelled through the door. "You can't ignore me and Nick forever!" And she got in her car and left.
