AJ'S HOUSE....
AJ took his last bag out of the house and put it on the front porch with the other ones that had formed a small pile. He checked his watch. Kevin should be there to pick him up in a few minutes. AJ's mom Denise came out on to the porch with him and gave her son a hug.
"Be careful and take care of yourself son." She told him.
AJ smiled. "Don't worry mom I'll be back before you know it being my usual pain in the butt."
"Got that right." She laughed.
"HEY!" AJ whined. They laughed and hugged again. "Man, I wonder where Laura is. She told me she'd be here to see me go before I left."
"Here she comes now." Denise pointed to the driveway as Laura pulled her car up the McLean's long driveway. "I'll let you two have some time alone and I'll go help Sarah finish packing her things upstairs."
AJ kissed his mom on the cheek. "Thanks mom."
Laura got out of her car. She was wearing a pair of baggy overalls with a yellow tank top underneath it. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail that swayed from side to side when she walked. She got on to the porch and stood in front of AJ and took a deep breath.
"So, this is it huh?" She asked. "I won't get to see you for almost six months now."
"Don't worry I'll call." AJ told her.
Laura put her hands in her pockets and looked down.
"Come here." AJ said. He pulled her into his arms. He whispered into her ear. "I'm really going to miss you Laura. But I'm only a phone call away and you know how to reach me."
Laura hugged him back and a tear rolled down her cheek.
AJ pulled away slightly and looked into her watery eyes. "Laura, is something wrong?"
Laura wiped away her tears and shook her head. "No, I'm just going to miss you that's all."
Just then Kevin pulled up to AJ's house in his car. "There's Kevin." AJ said reluctantly. He leaned over and kissed her cheek. "Take care of yourself. I'll be back before you know I'm gone."
Laura hugged him once again as Sarah came out of the front door with some of her bags. Laura moved over and gave her a hug. "I hope everything works out for you Sarah."
"You're not coming with us?" Sarah asked as she put down her bags.
Laura shook her head. "No, I'm going to stay here with AJ's mom."
"You take care too." Sarah hugged her once more.
"Come on guys or we'll be late." Kevin yelled from his car. "See you Laura! Behave yourself Mrs. McLean." Kevin teased.
Denise laughed. "That's me a regular hell on wheels."
AJ smiled proudly. "That's my mom." AJ kissed Laura on the cheek and took his and Sarah's bags down to the car. They hopped into the car and drove off.
Laura walked down the edge of the driveway and watched until she couldn't see the car anymore. Then she whispered to herself. "Maybe I should have told AJ that he's going to be a daddy."
BRIAN'S HOUSE....
"B-ROK are you going to come out here and help me with these damn bags or what?" Nick yelled from his car. Nick had just said goodbye to his parents and siblings and was now ready to get the show on the road. They hadn't even started touring yet and he was looking forward to the day they would have a break again. Just then Kevin's car pulled up in front of Nick's and he got a glance of Sarah. He watched silently as she got out of the car and leaned against it. The afternoon breeze lightly blew her hair back from her face showing off her beautiful blue eyes. Nick had to hold himself back from running over there and taking her in his arms.
Brian came up behind him and rested a hand on his shoulder. "Don't kill yourself over this man. Sarah will come around. You just got to give her time that's all."
Nick turned to face Brian. "But man, Brian what if she never forgives me for what I did?"
Brian reached in and took out Nick's bags and put them into the trunk of his car. "I'm telling you Nick, just give her time."
Abby came out of the house with Howie at her side. They were fighting over a suitcase.
"Howard Dwaine Dorough I am perfectly capable of carrying my own suitcases to the car." She tugged on the suitcase. The group watched in amusement.
Howie tugged back. "But I'm only being a gentleman and trying to help."
Abby tugged the other way. "And I said no thank you." With that she tugged the suitcase hard and it flew open sending Howie and Abby flying to the ground and Abby's clothes all over the sidewalk. Howie sat up with a pair of Abby's underwear on top of his head. The group began to laugh hysterically. Even Sarah.
"Love the new look D." AJ said as he walked over to help pick up the clothing.
Howie blushed and so did Abby. AJ picked up a blue nightie that was a bit revealing. He turned to Brian and moved his eyebrows up and down. He gave Brian the thumbs up sign and said, "Go B-ROK!" Abby stood up and grabbed the revealing outfit from AJ's hand.
"IF you don't mind McLean, I think that belongs to me." She grabbed it off of AJ. "Besides I took the one you wear to the cleaners."
Everyone laughed.
"HA HA very funny Abigail." AJ called her by her name that she hated.
"Don't push your luck." Abby said. They finished putting Abby's clothing back into the suitcase and they were ready to go.
AIRPORT.....
The group arrived at the aiport to be greeted by at least one hundred fans holding signs of wishes on their tour.
"Man," Kevin said as he looked out the window of the car. "We're going to have to make a run for it." Everyone took their positions and the bodyguards did the best to keep the screaming girls back.
Brian took Abby's hand in his. "Are you ready?"
"Let's go." Abby told him.
Kevin grabbed Sarah's hand and all the guys pushed through the crowd. Everywhere girls errupted into uncontrollable screaming and cameras went off. As they entered the airport they heard AJ yell, "Son of a bitch!"
They stopped running. "What is it bone?" Howie asked. There was blood on AJ's hand.
"Someone ripped out my ear ring." He said as he held his ear.
Suddenly the fans burst through the doors.
"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!" Brian screamed and they began running once again.
"Where's our gate?! Where's our gate?!" Nick yelled frantically as the fans closed in.
"GATE 54! GATE 54!" Kevin yelled.
They found the gate and hurried and got on to the plane. They sat back in the seats, all out of breath.
"That was nuts!" Nick tried to catch his breath.
AJ stood up to go into the bathroom. "I gotta fix my damn ear."
"Will it be okay AJ?" Sarah asked with concern.
AJ nodded his head. "Yeah it'll be fine. It's happened before. But it hurts like a bitch."
The guys were flying to Germany. They had a 12 hour flight ahead of them.
LATER.....
Night began to settle in and Nick was flipping through a magazine about video games. He looked over at Abby and Brian. Brian was listening to his headphones and lipsinging the words to some song. Abby had her head resting on Brian's shoulder as she slept soundlessly with a blanket pulled up to her chin. Nick's eyes fell on Sarah who was sitting in the seat diagonal to him just staring out the window. He put the magazine down and went and sat next to her.
"Hello Sarah." Nick said quietly.
She didn't even acknowledge that he was there.
Nick let out a frustrated breath. "How long are you going to ignore me? We're going to be together for six months you know."
Sarah turned to him angrily. "Why don't you just go sit back where you were."
"Why don't you just listen to what I have to say once?" Nick questioned back.
She looked out the window.
"That's all you do Sarah is blow off the problem. I want to explain and I am laying myself in front of you here pleading for you to listen to me please. Do you need me begging on my knees because I'll do it." He got off the seat and got on his knees in front of her. "I love you with all my heart Sarah. Please just listen to me for once."
'Listen to him Sarah!' her conscience screamed at her. 'You love him! Listen to him for once!'
Nick noticed that Sarah hadn't told him to leave her alone yet. "Ever since the first day I saw you I loved you. I didn't mean for what happened between me and Abby to happen. We've been over this before. God, please Sarah tell me you forgive me."
Tears ran down Sarah's cheeks and she stood up. "I told you to leave me alone Nick!" And she ran to the bathroom.
He leaned his head against the seat and sighed. "How am I ever going to get her back? Mark my words, I'll find a way."
