2 WEEKS LATER....
Sarah stood backstage as the music blasted through the speakers in the arena the guys were giving a concert at in Germany that night. She could hear hundreds of fans screaming and yelling for the Backstreet Boys. The guys were going to go on any minute and Sarah knew that the screaming would only get louder. She glanced over at Brian who was holding both of Abby's hands and was smiling and telling her something that made her laugh. She turned away from them. Seeing them together just made her miss being in Nick's arms even more. Sarah looked around and saw Nick sitting in a gray folding chair staring at the ground. Nick hadn't tried to make her listen to him since the plane ride to Germany 2 weeks ago. Tears filled her eyes as she thought of how irrational she was being to him. She had to listen to him. She had to forgive him and she had to forgive Abby. Sarah was just about to go talk to him when she saw Kevin walk over to him and tell him that it was time to go on. Everyone gathered around and they said a quick prayer.
"Let's get this party started!" Howie yelled as the guys took their places. As "That's the way I like it" filled the air the guys ran onstage. The exicted screams of the fans vibrated the walls. The boys went into a complicated dance routine and Sarah smiled as Brian and Nick goofed around onstage. She decided this was her opportunity to talk to Abby. Abby was also watching the show from the other side of the stage. Sarah made her way through the technical crew backstage and finally got to Abby. She could hear the guys start introducing themselves, not that they need an introduction. Sarah walked up behind Abby and tapped her shoulder. Abby turned around to see who it was and her eyes went wide. Music started playing for "Just To Be Close".
"I need to talk to you." Sarah yelled over the music.
Abby nodded her head and motioned for Sarah to follow her. She led her to the guys dressing room and shut the door. They could still hear the faint sound of music and screaming.
Sarah sat down on the white couch that was next to one of the walls and put her hands on her lap. Abby leaned up against the door and the room remained silent.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Abby broke the silence.
Sarah took a deep breath and looked up at Abby. "I'm so sorry Abby."
A look of surprise washed over Abby's face. "You're what?"
"I'm sorry." Sarah repeated. "I'm sorry for not listening to what you had to say. I'm sorry for slapping you. I'm sorry for the stuff I said about you not being my best friend." She looked up at Abby through watery eyes. "Because you are my best friend."
Abby was stunned. This was the last thing she thought that Sarah would be saying. She walked over to Sarah and gave her a hug.
Sarah held on to her. "I should've listened to you. I acted so stubborn and was only thinking of myself and my own feelings. I never gave you or Nick a chance to explain what happened. I know you wuld never do something like that to hurt me. You've been there for me whenever I needed you and then I acted so rediculous toward you."
Both girls began to cry. "No Sarah, I'm the one that's sorry. You don't have to apologize for anything."
For once they were crying happy tears and not tears of sadness.
Abby pulled away and wiped away her own tears. "What do you say? Best friends again?"
Sarah smiled. "Of course. Best friends forever."
The girls remained in the dressing room for the rest of the concert talking. Brian came into the dressing room dripping with sweat. He stopped in shock at the sight of Abby and Sarah sitting and laughing together.
"Hello Ladies." Brian said breathless from the concert. "I've been looking for you two." He smiled knowing that they must be friends again. "We have to stay and sign some autographs. The limo is outside waiting for you. It'll take you to the hotel and we'll meet you there." Brian gave Abby a quick kiss on the cheek, grabbed a towel, and left the room. When he shut the door he smiled. "Way to go Sarah. Two relationships fixed." He sighed. "One to go."
