Masters of the Universe Comics
The following is a listing of all the known U.S. comic book appearances He-Man has made, along with the pictures of the covers.
He-Man was introduced into the comic universe by DC Comics. He-Man first appeared in issue #47 of DC Comics Presents and in a "Masters of the Universe" preview that was included in many DC comics.
Soon after, a 3-issue mini-series of Masters of the Universe comics was released by DC Comics. The animation company, Filmation, was influenced by the mini-series to create the He-Man cartoon.
Masters of the Universe continued in the mini-comics that were packaged along with the action figures created by Mattel.
A new series of Masters of the Universe comic books was released by Star Comics, a branch of Marvel Comics. A total of 13 issues were released of the series.
A special Secret of the Sword comic book was given away in theaters when the film was shown. He-Man and She-Ra were both featured in the movie and in the comic book. The comic itself is an extremely short version of the movie.
