I've decided to keep a page of requests I receive from various visitors.  I haven't been able to include all the ones I've received, but here's a start.  As for my own 'wishlist', I would be very grateful for any lyrics to songs that aren't currently on the site.  Cheers,

Rabid.

The lines go "I love you so; Want you to know; that each day you are away is a blue interlude" I think that's how it goes. Anyway, if you could help in anyway, that'd be great.

Great site, I had to spend hours on the internet looking for jazz lyrics before I found your site that had most of the stuff I need. Good job!

I sing jazz a lot and my problem is that I can't find any of the lyrics to Ella's and Ellington's CD- Ella at Duke's Place. There are some great songs there and it seems like no one recognizes them. "Imagine my Frustration", "A flower is a lovesome thing" are amazing and there are more....
If you can help, it'll be great.
Thanks a lot,

And I have a question straight off. I'll look at my leisure for a question in your list I can answer.

The song I want is called, I think, "Wonderful You." A recording of it by Johnny Hartman is burning inside my brain, but I can't find it on CD anywhere. He does it uptempo, and the hook is, "I'll tie a lover's knot around wonderful you." He makes it sound so, well, carnal!

Lyrics, anyone?

Thank you so much for this shower singer's goldmine. I get so cross when I have to resort to the doobeedoos . . . .

Dear Rabid Squirrel,

My friend/relative Marilyn in New Orleans needs the Lyrics
to "Round Midnight", and I tried to get them from your site,
but when I clicked in the Round Midnight link, the answer
came back "file not found". COuld you send them to the 2
email addresses that are cc'd in the top of this letter?
I sang this in college, and have tried looking this up, but
different sites have variations on these lyrics. I know
Thelonious Monk wrote this tune with Cootie Williams and
that Bertie Hanighen wrote the lyrics. This is all of "my "
version that I have:

It begins to tell, round midnight midnight
I do pretty well, till half past sunlight
Suppertime I'm feelin' sad...
But it really gets bad round midnight.

(then a second verse, and this next is all I have of the
3rd...)

Let our hearts take wing, round midnight midnight
Let the angel sing, for your returning.....

That's all I have, and my version scans better than the
other versions I have seen on the web. Any help you could
give would be great. Thanks so much.

Musically, Melody Clark Curzon

Dear Rabid,

Please credit Jack Segal and Marvin Fisher, the writers of "When Sunny Gets Blue", if you are going to post their lyrics. (They did work pretty hard to get something that great.) Technically, you should list ASCAP as the affiliation, so anyone can check all the legitimate credits.

Thanks! (Can't help it, I'm a staunch defender of Intellectual Property Rights. Why is it that when someone builds a building, no one complains about paying rent to use it, but when a writer builds a song, everyone thinks it should be free to not only enjoy on the ears, but utilize later when/however they want?) :) I believe in sharing the good stuff... but with credit where it's due.

Comments: Hey, squirrel!:-) You're right man, it's hard to find jazz stuff on the net. And im happy to find here all the lyrics im trying to find for my new
blues-jazz-whatever band. By the way...is it me or there is no "I ain't got nobody" lyric?? That's a very well known song i have in an old record by Louis
Armstrong. I can find it here but, hell, keeping this site on must be a real hard job and somebody has to do it. So keep the rabid going, im bookmarking this right

Dear Rabid Squirrel:

Great Site! Man, you've included lots of great stuff!

What are the words to "I'll Take Romance" by Ben Oakland and Oscar
Hammerstein from the 1937 Melvyn Douglass/ Margaret Hamilton movie by the
same name?

I'm sure that you're swamped. I'm just so grateful to see your site. Most
lyric sites have the complete Tupac Shakur/Beck/Bjork/Prince/Back Street
Boys lyrics which won't endure another five years.

The tunes on your site are built to last!

Thank you!

Hi, this just to say that I found your page tremendously useful - it is the best jazz lyrics database around. But I discovered an error in the link for the song "You'd be so nice to come home to" - it links instead to "The Song is Ended". Could you please put the correct lyrics up? Thanks a

Happy to find your site, but it can't easily help me with my question. There's a song that I and others are trying to identify. The song was used in a recent movie but even the movie's producer doesn't know what the song is. Here's all we know about the song:

Piano, slow, torch song, sounds a lot like Eartha Kitt.

Some lyrics that we can make out:
"It was a beautiful sight
Your kiss was a flame
not the spark that somehow dies..."
"...as real as all those tears I cried"
"...each time I wake
Knowing that you're not here
But what can I do?"
"... time disappears..."
"... funny how things..."

If you or anyone can give any pointers at all, even a decent GUESS, I'd be extremely appreciative.

Of course, the reason your site can't easily help is because I don't know the name of the song!

Cheers
-shill ([email protected])

Dear Rabid Squirrel,

I am writing you just to see if you can possibly help me. Great selections of songs, by the way. A while back I was cruising about town listening to a 'jazz lunch' on the radio. They played this great song, I'm assuming not too recently recorded, and I obviously got the name of the CD wrong. I could have SWORN they DJ stated it could be found on the movie soundtrack titled 'Lost in Harrah's' with Sinbad. No, I wasn't drinking :) This movie doesn't exist.. so this obviously means I might never find the song.

I am at a loss as to how to explain it to you, but I'll try. If I remember correctly, it is a man singing? VERY foot tapping awesome song. He? sings about how if you have a cold, you can take medicine... if you're cold you can get a coat... but you can't do anything about love? Or something like that? Does this make any sense at all? Something about love sneaks up on you, maybe? It was about a month ago so I'm quickly forgetting it :) But, if you have any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried searches, but, get nothing. So, you seem to have a vast knowledge of jazz, I thought you might have
an idea.

I appreciate your time :)
Have a stunning weekend,
Sincerely,
Lorraine Arbuckle
