A feature length documentary about Tibet, youth acticvism and The Tibetan Freedom Concert is coming to a theatre near you! The Milarepa Fund is proud to present our own behind the scenes look at the largest benefit concert since Live Aid and the tragic situation in Tibet which inspired over twenty bands to get together to do something about it. For the past year and a half, our compatriot Nathaniel Hornblower has been locked in his basement editing room and has recently surfaced with a 90-minute film which has more solid information about Tibet, nonviolence and rock n' roll than any film to date.

FREE TIBET, executive produced by Jay Faires and Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch, chronicles the 1996 Tibetan Freedom Concert and includes interviews with band members, live on stage performances by over a dozen bands, rare footage of Tibet from before and after the Chinese occupation, interviews with crowd members (you might be in it), explanations of the on-site monastery tent and the sand mandala created by the Tibetan monks and nuns, information about how to help Tibet, as well as interviews with the Dalai Lama himself. See how Students for a Free Tibet has blown up from a few concerned kids to the largest force behind the Tibet movement in the U.S. today, containing over 300 individual chapters.
