Here's hiStory:

I grew up on the mean streets of Cottonwood Valley. It was hard times. Once I found used firecrackers at the park. That was pretty scary. They were red. Anyway, I digress. The story really started when I quit piano lessons a long time ago. I quit, but my brother didn't. He eventually did later when he learned he could teach himself just as well as anyone else could. Later he learned how to play guitar, and he got decent. It was then that I was jealous and wanted to learn bass guitar so I could play with him and "be cool". It was a good idea. I started to play, and wasn't that good, but then it finally happened. I went to another school's coffeehouse and saw a band play. They were horrible. They were out of tune, out of key, out of rhythm, and didn't sound good at all, yet they were on stage. I thought to myself, "I sound better than them by not playing at all, yet they're on stage. It can't be that hard. Therefore, I can get good, and be on stage, and be better then them." And so it was set in motion. I started taking lessons, and learned very quickly. My large hands and nimble fingers were a huge asset. My teacher kept telling me how nice my hands were [NB: Chris's teacher is a guy….], and complimenting me on how fast I learned. He said I could pick something up faster than any of his other students. He taught me how to play in a key, what progressions work, what notes compliment each other, and how to hold my hand so I get maximum performance out of my bass. Things were good. It was about then that I was ready to play at my first coffeehouse. I played some songs with my brother, and it was cool. I still couldn't write my own music, but I was getting more versatile at the things I could play. I kept taking lessons, and getting better, and eventually I could write my own stuff. I jammed with Matt a lot, cause he's awesome. He had a similar style as me, and we could pick a key, and rock out in that key. It was cool. I think this about concludes my musical history.
