NO Prayer For The Dying

noprayer.jpg (19330 bytes)

Unfortunately, with the sheer scale of Seventh Son, Iron Maiden set themselves up to be knocked down. There was no way they were going to be able to outdo SSOASS, or even equal it with another concept album, so No Prayer was a return to basics for the band, with some solid thumping songs. Unfortunately, while that is true,  they are also ultimately forgettable. High points are No Prayer For The Dying, which tries, if not totally successfully, to recapture the sound of SSOASS, Fates Warning and the epic Mother Russia. Low point is the Number One single, Bring Your Daughter.....To The Slaughter: ironically, the only Number One that the band have ever achieved, but with possibly the worst song they have ever released, imho.
