Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, into a family where        music was a way of life, Tess began singing with her father and sisters, and later joined several Moncton choirs. The LeBlanc home resounded with bagpipe &fiddle tunes, classical music and folk songs.

In 1980, her interest in Celtic and Acadian traditions led her to study Ethnology at Laval University, Quebec. The warmth and spirit of Tess' voice have captivated and touched audiences in many festivals and concerts across Canada and parts of the New England states. She has played alongside respected artists as Moxy Frûvous, Fred Eaglesmith, the Burns Sisters, Lennie Gallant, Finest Kind, Danielle Martineau, Bobby Watt... to name a few. Tess also livens up the pace with the beat of the bodhran or with the percussive sound of her step-dancing.

Her first recording, Tess, is a collection of songs that reflect her Irish, Scottish and Acadian heritage as well as her Maritime roots.
