This is the bit of the website where I can shamelessly sell myself. O.K. let's start with something simple, the date at time of writing is sometime in september. Each time I add somthing new, I'll put the date at the beginning of the paragraph so you can see any new additions as well as still being able to read all of the older entries. I suppose you could say this is going to be a sort of web-diary.

At the moment I am:

September 7th 1999.

   This is me:
As you can see, in this picture, I am wearing my kickboxing outfit. Although I'm not training at the moment, over the last five years, I've done both Tae-kwondo and kickboxing. I hold second green belt in both (that's 6th Kyu for those of you who know about these things).
At the moment I am on holiday from college. I am doing a course in contempory popular music, called Access to Music. It takes place at Noisebox studios in Norwich. The course contains all the usual things you might expect from a college course: music theory, instrument lessons, music history, composition, music business, music technology. And some you might not expect: students on this course get put into a band made up of some of the other students. You are given two two-hour practice sessions a week. Access to Music also organise gigs for this band. The band I am in are called Erm! to find out more about this band click on the name.
On September the 8th, Steve and I are travelling to Paris, to see Iron Maiden and Megadeth on the 9th, followed on the 10th by a trip to Rotterdam to see... Iron Maiden and Megadeth. I'll Tell you about it when I get back.

What albums am I listening to at the moment?
  • VAST - 'Visual Audio Sensory Theater'
  • Paradise Lost - 'Host'
  • Anathema - 'Judgement'
  • Sentenced - 'Down'

September 17th 1999

Well it's been a nearly a week since Steve and I got back from the trip to Paris and Rotterdam. I've just about recovered. Megadeth were great. And as for Bruce, well, I've never heard him sound better! See some pictures and read a full review of both nights gigs.
We met some cool people, hopefully they'll be reading this (if they remembered this sites address) so a big hello to everyone we met.
To change the subject slightly, I've started to learn Russian. People keep asking me why, and I can't come up with a reason better than 'I like the accent'. I've thought about learning it for some time, but it wasn't until we met a couple of Russian girls on the way to Paris that I decided to do something about it.

I'm listening to the following albums:
  • VAST - 'Visual Audio Sensory Theater'
  • Paradise Lost - 'Host'
  • Anathema - 'Judgement'
  • Megadeth - 'Risk'

October 30th 1999

Not much has happened since my last entry. I've started a new year at college. My college band Erm..! is no more, follow the link in the September 7th entry above to find out more.
I am continuing to write more songs, but could really benifit from other members input, which of course I'm not getting.

I am listening to:
  • Moonspell - 'The Butterfly Effect'
  • Kill II This - 'Deviate'
  • Type O Negative - 'World Coming Down'
  • Entwined - 'Dancing Under Glass'

Talking of band members we are now one less than before, with the letting go of Tim. Although to be honest, it's not going to make any diference, as Tim was never around to contribute to anything the band did. All it means now is, that we will be recruiting another guitarist as soon as we find someone suitable.
On a lighter note: I'm going to Mars!! Or my name is at least. I found out that NASA are compiling a list of peoples names, to be put on to a CD and mounted on the Mars 2001 Lander module which will be exploring the ancient highlands of Mars. It's the closest I'll ever come to getting there (but you never know...NASA take note!).

My CD player isn't working propaly so I am only listening to:
  • Anathema - 'Judgement'
  • The Gathering - 'How to Measure A Planet'

December 10th 1999

Well, we have now had two band rehersals with our new guitarist Jaymz. We have a really good feeling about this. We get all on well, Jaymz is a very good guitarist, and he seems to be able to pick up our songs really quickly which is a huge bonus.
We are now looking forward to our fist gig, which looks set to take place on New Years Eve! This is a private party at Jaymz's girlfriend, laura's house. It has always been an ambition to play on the eve of the millenium, and although it's not going to be in front of thousands of screaming fans, it should still be great fun!

I like and listen to:
  • Anthrax - Volume 8 The Threat is Real
  • Cradle of Filth - From the Cradle to Enslave E.P.
  • Swordmaster - Morbidund Transgoria

December 30th 1999

Christmas is over, hope you had a good one, I enjoyed myself. It's good to see the family once in a while. I got some good stuff for chirstmas, including some books about HTML and JAVASCRIPT which I can use to jazz up the website with (as if it needed it!).
Well, the end is near, and it's been quite an eventfull year. The band has really started to get things together, and although we wont be playing on New Years Eve, like we had hoped, we should be playing in January for my birthday.    Somthing a bit different this entery, since the millenium is drawing to a close I thought I would give a list of my favorite all-time albums (this was very hard to choose):
  1. Paradise Lost - Draconian Times
  2. Anathema - Eternity
  3. Paradise Lost - Host
  4. Sirrah - Acme
  5. Kill II This - Deviate
  6. Metallica - ...And Justice For All
  7. Bruce Dickinson - The Chemical Wedding
  8. Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
  9. Moonspell - Irriligious
  10. Megadeth - Youthanasia
  11. The Gathering - How to Measure A Planet
  12. Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar
While I have tried to put these albums into some sort of order, I think you'll agree if you tried to to the same, it is virtually impossable to say which albums you like better than others, and if I tried to do this list again in a few days time I would probably have them in a different order or some not there at all while others I havent mentioned would appear. Try it for your self, mail your list to me if you like.

January 1st 2000

The world hasn't ended (give it time!), Y2K hasn't caused chaos, the demons from hell have yet to make their appearance. All in all, it's been a bit of a disapointment! Still it is only the 1st of January, still plenty of time for things to go wrong.
I spent last night marveling at the show in Norwich - 'The City Of Light' - This consisted of a single green laser being projected onto the wall of the castle museum. Erm.. was that all? No, there were about 4 or 5 fireworks which went off throughout the night.
I was surprised how early people went home, the city was almost empty by about half past one. I got home about ten to two, I get home later than that on a normal tuesday night! But I suppose it was always going to be a let down - the whole millenium thing has been building up for a few years now, and the reality was never going to live up to expectations. On a lighter note, it wasn't all bad, I saw some friends that I hadn't seen for a few years, shook plenty of hands and got a few hugs so that was nice.
Here's wishing you a happy new millenium, and let's get together for the next one!

March 3rd 2000

It's been a while since my last update, so let me give you a quick run down of what has happened: Bog all.
Actually, that's not quite true. I had some horrendus problems with my computer, in which I was unable to record anything for the demo, this was extremely frustrating, but I now have that fixed and am ready to go. Only to be hit with another delaying problem: Steve has come down with laryngitis, this, by the way, is not good for a singer. He is recovering now, but I don't know how long it will be until he his able to sing well enough to record his parts.
Sometimes I just want to SCREAM. I'll have to make do with writing in capitals.

April 9th 2000

I think I've begun to run out of space on the web server, so I've had to cut out all the crap and irrelevant stuff on this site because I wanted to add some more music, so I need the space.
Steve has still not recovered from his illness, but hopefully well on the way. The tracklisting of the demo has been changed and there maybe more songs to add to it later, but we are still debating that. Check out the news section for full details.
