The company's Biography

Three years ago a group of friends, with the love for music, decided that they were going to start a company of their own. They wanted a name for the company that would be suitable to most people, after going throug numerous of names, we arrive with the name, "Sky is the Limit". We wanted to spell the name different from the phrase, so we decided on, "Sky's De Limit".

Sky's De Limit Entertainment was first registered as a sole proprietorship because of the unwillingness of most of the members. A few months went by, then three of the unwilling members became more interested and it was re-registered as a partnership.

Our first project was under the way, with only a few bucks saved up we decided to start small. We went to the owners of Joe Bananas Night, one of the most underground night club in west end of Toronto, to ask if their was any vacancies, they gave us the Thursday Night Showcase. We called it, "Champagne Thursdays", we arranged an Autograph Sessions with some of Jamaica's best sound systems, such as Stone Love, Body Guard, Jam Rock, and Travellers. After a few weeks, the crowd was not coming as we expected because we were competing against Club Epiphany, toronto's largest Reggae club and Thursdays was Ladies Night, their biggest night.

We then moved on to Silks Night Club to help them promote theirs Wednesday nights, that too never worked out to our expectations. So we decided to take a break, save some more money, and plan a bigger and better project. With the experience we gain, the friends we met and the few supporters, we knew that the next project would definitely be a success.

After a year of saving and planning, we decided it was time to execute the plans we had made. We decided to do an internation sound system competition called, "World Clash 98 pt.1". KillamanJaro from Kingston, Jamaica; Soul Supreme, from Brooklyn, New York; and Super Fresh from Toronto, Canada would be the competitors. April 3, 1998 was the date for the event. The show went good, although we didn't make a profit, we felt good and Sky's De Limit popularity began to grow.

Eight months later we decided it was time for a next project. A concert with one of Jamaica's best sound systems, Body Guard and one of Jamaica's upcoming artist, Alley Cat. Genesis from Philadelpia and a line-up of Toronto's best sound systems, King Turbo, Super Fresh, and Military was also to entertain the night. A dance competition was also apart of the night's attraction, with the winner to walk away with $1000 canadian dollars. The concert went well as planned.

Although we didnot make a profit, 1998 was a remarkable year for the company. The local radio stations gave us great reviews, calling the two shows the best shows Toronto had ever seen in years. We gain respect from people in all different level of the industries, our name spread all over the city, with hundreds of supporters and fans we felt we have accomplish a part of our dream and a part of our mission.

Since then we have been planning and focusing on the other areas of business. We have been attending seminars, meeting established people in the music production industry and talented artists.

Music as been a part of each and every one of us, but hopefully in the future we'll have the chance to venture other parts in the entertainment community, such as, featured films, book, magazine, etc.

Our goal is to take the entertainment world into the new millenium with more futuristic concepts.
