.: background and introduction :.

StarLord plays diverse genres using computers and keyboards, blending ancient global traditions with futuristic trance and techno. His music is all instrumental, albeit mostly techno.. house.. some ambient/electronica, rock, jazz, new age/trance, and classical.

I am influenced by acoustic "world folk" traditions, vintage to modern electronica/techno, 60s/70s rock, classical masters and new styles as well.

People say we sound like anything from retro electronica (phillip glass, kitaro, vangelis, synergy), Euro (depeche) and Jpop (maxx), 70's/80's/90's retro club scene to modern acoustic and metal rock!

StarLord's childhood career began in the late 1960's/ early 1970's; his first "real" instrument was a Thomas spinet organ, with lessons.. this continued for about ten years, when he picked up vocal & guitar training in the mid 1980's. His first gig (other than church) was as lead guitarist for glam-rock band 'God's Grace (or GG)' which he and some high-school mates formed. Near the end of the 80's he went Solo into the underground techno/electronica mod/tracker scene. Currently, he is working on an Ambient project with the ::drone:. collective and has launched sites at MP3.COM and AMPCAST where he streams and sells some of his earlier works.

StarLord's repertoire includes a Korg DW-8000, Emu 8000, Alesis MIDIverbII, Amiga and PC computers, and LOTS of samples! His software of choice is Sonic Foundry's ACID, SoundForge, and RBF's MED SoundStudio.
