Who    is    Baggas???

Now here's the page where I get to bore you with a whole heap of useless information about myself that you probably won't even bother reading anyway. In fact, you probably only came here by accident trying to get to my Medicine or Music pages. But anyway, for those of you who are genuinely interested (or for those of you with nothing better to do), here is the Baggas Fact Sheet.

Wow, that was exciting wasn't it! (yeh right). You now know a little bit about me but that information is probably about as useful to you as a freezer in Antarctica. On a slightly deeper level than what's written above, the things that are important to me are my God, my family and friends, my studies in Medicine (which I love), and of course, my fiancee (who I love more!). I believe that you can't really get to know a person from a blurb on a web page, so all this info is probably of more use to people who already know me in real life. "You can't judge a book by it's cover", and you certaintly can't judge a person from a small bit of info on a web page such as this. I'm starting to realize more and more that every person is worth something, and it is wrong to criticize people based on superficial observations such as what you might read on a page like this. Anyway, enough of my dribbling on - Get back to your Web surfing, and Good Luck!

WHAT I BELIEVE

I also so thought I should write just a little bit here about my "religious beliefs", for anyone who's interested. Basically, I'm a middle of the road evangelical protestant Christian (if you like to put people into categories) but what does this mean? Simply, it means that I belief in the Christian message as presented in the Bible, nothing more, nothing less. That is, all humans are alienated from God by the wrong things we do and think ('sin'). Since God is perfect and pure, in this state we cannot have a relationship with him, therefore we cannot go to heaven when we die and are doomed to eternity in isolation from God (hell). Because God is loving and forgiving, he sent his only Son Jesus Christ to die as a sacrifice to cleanse us from these sins and impurities, thus allowing us to have a relationship with God the Father. Jesus willingly gave up all the riches of heaven to become a man, and died a horrible death because of His love for mankind. However, to take advantage of the great gift that Jesus offers us, we must do the following : (1) We must believe in Jesus, and what he has done for us ("Faith") (2) We must acknowledge the wrong things we have done which alienate us from God (sins) and ask for His forgiveness (3) We must make a commitment to let God have control of our lives and endeavour to live a life more pleasing to Him. Making these decisions is how one becomes a Christian - being a Christian doesn't mean you still don't do wrong things (we are all still human, and sin and selfishness are part of human nature) but it means that you are forgiven and are gradually improving to live a more righteous life.

So that's some of the basic truths of Christianity (also remembering that Jesus did not only die for us - but rose again from the dead). Over the years many traditions and other things have been added to Christianity, which are not neccessarily wrong, but may make it seem distant and less relevant to people in the world today. I believe that the message of Christ is still relevant today, and is something that everybody deseperately needs to hear, so I go to a church (Coastal Christian Centre) that presents these truths in a way that people today can understand - rock music, community spirit, and practical messages that can be applied directly to your life. If you are interested in these things, have a look in a bible (preferably a newer version in modern language), visit a church near you (if you live in Rockingham and its surrounding areas in WA, you could come to Coastal), talk to a Christian friend, or email me. Finding out about Christianity may be the best thing you ever do. Thanks.

OSMOSIS : Adrenaline Unlimited...

I'm also involved as one of the leaders in the OSMOSIS group for young adults between the ages of 16-17 in Rockingham and surrounding areas, a ministry of Coastal Chritian Centre. In this group we help young people to find their purpose and destiny in life and aim to guide them through this transitional period, dealing with vocational, emotional, relational, and spiritual issues. But as well as these "heavy" sounding things, we basically just have a good time going out and doing fun things, or just hanging out together. Generally we have a social get together on weekends and a discussion group midweek where we talk about practical ways to deal with what life throws at us, from a Christian perspective. So if you are between the ages of 16-17 and you live in the Rockingham / Kwinana district, and you are looking for answers in life, or if you just want something to do and to make new friends, you are welcome to come along to OSMOSIS. We won't try and force you to become a Christian or "bible bash" you, however we are happy to talk about spiritual issues if you like.
