Performed original songs with Soljak band throughout L.A & Calif.

   

Recorded "Soljak & Barrett" album cassette (self financed, 10 originals (Gala Records), California billed with Beck & Jake Dylan (of the Wallflowers).

Performed in theatre production " Our Planet at Risk" in California, speaking and singing part in this factual play on the enviroment,written and directed by John Hammond which ran for six weeks on Broardway, Longbeach, calif.

Performed original blues/folk/jazz material with the Katy Soljak Band around California with a number of excellent musicians, including Steve Hodges from the Tom Waits Band and Bill Barrett on Harmonica.

    Formed "The Blue Buzzard Band" with Auckland drummer Kevin Strange on drums and Californian guitarist Howard Miller, a popular blues cover band that played regularly in and around Auckland, drawing crowds to the legendry corner bar of the gluepot.
    Performed and promoted the popular blues revue "Ladies Sing the Blues" which performed to packed houses in Auckland from 1984 to 1986
