I will try to update this page as soon as i learn anything new about the band so check back often for updates. If you have something you know mail me

Update 22/1/99:

Uploaded 34 new live photos from the Athens 97 concert.See them here and here .Also some new band pictures, here . Some new MP3's are on their way(full songs, high quality),if the webspace is found they will be uploaded.

Update 23/12/98:

A big THANKS to my friend Luca Bosio, owner of DISTORTION MAG,and Frederico, also from Distortion mag, who gave me the lyrics for "Acid Queen" and "Venom" and also the following info.Luca is in direct contact with Cronos, who stated the following:
The band is ready to do some pre-production(they are starting around the middle of January 1999) for their album number 6.The following 3 titles that for sure will appear on the yet untitled album to be released on Easter are:

War Against Christ

Resurrection

All There Is Fear

Cronos said that these tracks are the best songs he has ever written!

SPV bought all the entire back catalogue, like "Welcome To Hell","Black Metal","At War With Satan" and "Possessed" from Neat Records for a future re-released, maybe for the 20 years anniversary of the band with a completely new layout (except for the cover of course) and more bonus tracks will soon be added.
Here's what Cronos stated exclusively on the December 1998 issue of Distortion:

"Production on the next Venom opus has already begun, I have been writing some new insane Metal over the last few months, I should be hooking with Mantas soon to see what mayhem he has been writing, and then we can start preparing some work by the beginning of 1999, we are also planning a 1999 release. We are only writing new material for the next release, I already have conjured since the finished of "Cast In Stone", we have not discussed using any of the songs that didn't make on the CIS album, I think there were about 5 or 6 songs left over from the last demo recordings, but I already have enough material to choose from and there's more ideas on the way."

Update 19/12/98:

Venoms Legions, the official Venom Fan Club is running once again! The webpage can be found here .Check it out, subscription fee is nothing compared to what you get!(exclusive t-shirt,leather keyring, fanzine, hologram member card,and,and,and...)
The new album is also worked on,the songs are composed and the band is now recording and producing them.

Update 13/10/98:

Cronos said that the video for "Flight Of The Hydra" was censored because it showed a dead child's head with two faces and a burning house.

Update 10/10/98:

I have established communication with the band and the manager themselves so any news that are official (confirmed by the band) are going to be noted. The following are official.
The band is now writing the new album, will hit the studio on December. The album is expected to be released on summer 1999.The band will probably combine its release with a big tour. This will include the U.S. too in all chances.
In order to settle this one and for all,the cancellation of the u.s. concert had nothing to do with the band. What band would cancel a concert and lose 20,000 ? Although Venom never cared about money (other bands did, you know pretty well who...) they wouldn't be so stupid to lose so much money. They could play in the u.s. but what is a Venom show without the stage show? And this year the stage show was going to be bigger than ever!
About the movie role offers. Both Cronos and Abaddon have been offered many roles to play in movies but they found none of them really attractive and suitable, so until now there are no plans for movie making.
As some of you might know,1999 will be Venom's 20th anniversary! There will be some upcoming special releases for this.A new section in the site will follow.
About the page,i know there are many errors and broken images, please bear with them for a while since i haven't had the time to redesign some stuff, but i will do so by mid December, expect some really kewl changes, along with many new images, stuff and a whole lot more...

Update 4/8/98:

The album "New Live And Rare" is out. It's a compilation with songs from the MKII line up.Read more about it here .Lyrics to "Temples of Ice" are added too,you can find them here .
Also,Cleopatra records released yet another "best of" compilation called Best Of Venom 1981 - 94 .

Update 19/7/98:

The concerts that were scheduled for the U.S. are cancelled.Maybe there will be a reschedule in the near future, however the band plays in London on July 25,so it might be difficult to expect something very soon. Seems like the band has to find better promoters in the U.S. ...
Lots of people have arranged hotels, planes, tickets, etc. to see the concerts.I remind you again, the one you should blame is Showcase Theatre, the promoters of the concert, who were supposed to have arranged everything. It's absoluetly their fault,so blame them.

Update 18/7/98:

It seems like both shows in California have been cancelled.I would like to make clear that for any inconvinience ,it's not Venom who's to blame.Theband paid the promoters to arrange everything, and now they cancel them and try to blame the band, because "the band didn't get some pyro permits". Well this is the promoter's job's,to get all these permits, and the concert has been arranged months ago and cancelled for 3 times.I'm sure that Venom will reschedule the shows, since they are very pissed off with the promoters.Venom want to play for their fans, they haven't been to the U.S. for years and want to give everything to them. Venom have always been a band that was really close to their fans.

Update 12/7/98:

Very bad news...The concert that was scheduled for July 18th is cancelled... The band didn't get some permits for the pyros and fireworks in time. The promoters told them to post pone it again, but Venom prefered to cancel it.This is getting way too long...this was a job for the promoters, not the band..

Update 2/7/98:

Sorry for the delay. The long awaited big update will be this week so stay tuned... To the news now: Live And Rare is released! It's a double CD and it features tracks from all their periods, with Cronos and Dolan. Rumors are that Venom will release their U.S. concerts on video and it should be ut sometime on Halloween. When they're done with the U.S. they'llprobably do a worldwide tour. Also "Live and Rare" video is about to hit the stores soon...

Update 15/5/98:

I know, this has gone too far...The concerts were rescheduled again!!The promoters of the concert promised that this is the final date. The concert that was scheduled for June 13th is going to be on the 18th of July. For more info check out the tour section.Mybe the other concert is rescheduled too but i haven't heard about it yet.I know that most of you are really pissed off at the promoters check out their website and send them an email maybe ; )

Update 23/4/98:

The concerts in Orange Pavillion were rescheduled for June because the Pavillion was closed for an open fair for the entire month May.It wasn't because of Cronos' throat surgery. It's better anyway since the doctor suggested that Cronos should take 3 months off.

Update 18/4/98:

Venom will release a new album, most likely in June called Live And Rare .Also they're preparing the videoclip for "Flight Of The Hydra" and will perform some concerts in the United States and Europe. They are also experimenting and testing a new stage show (more fireworks??,Nah,it can't be,they'll blow up the stadium if they'll use more fireworks and explosives!) That's a pretty tight schedule for sure.

Update 1/4/98:

The concert that was to be on May 1st is now scheduled for June 13th.Otherwise it's the same place : Orange Pavillion in San Bernadino,California and the other one on June 12th in Maritime Hall,San Fransisco California.

Update 20/3/98:

Venom classics re-released on CD.This is a great opportunity for people to add some rare Venom recordings to their collections and to enjoy better sound quality. The most recent re-release from Neat Metal/MTC ,at least here in Greece,is Calm Before The Storm , and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. Don't just sit there however cause these cd's are going to disappear very soon,so hurry up!

Update 10/3/98:

There have been rumors of Venom doing another show on May 1st at The Maritime Hall in San Fransisco along with Sadus and Enthroned. Who knows, maybe they'll visit other United States cities for some concerts...

Update 2/3/98:

Venom are coming for one concert in San Bernardino,California!!!!!They will play on Orange Pavillion on May 2nd.Seems like Cronos doesn't care about the doctor and says "Let's get some hell going on in the fuckin states!"
If you're thinking of going there i suggest you hurry up and get your tickets here cause this is gonna be a sold out concert. So hurry up before all the tickets are sold out!! Remember this is a Venom concert, you must not in any way miss this one since it's said to be their only appereance in the states!!!

Update 11/2/98:

Bad news:Tour is cancelled because of a problem Cronos has with his voice. During a routine check the doctor discovered some tumours on Cronos' throat.Cronos had the same problem 3 years ago.
The doctor removed the tumours and suggested that Cronos should rest for about 3 months.

Update 24/1/98:

Cast In Stone is voted in the top 10 metal albums of 1997 by the editors of the Greek Metal Hammer. More Specifically Venom ranked 10th in the albums chart while Bruce Dickinson's "Accient Of Birth" ranked first.
The editors also wrote that Venom's reunion and new music career is by far the most important event in the black metal, and not only scene.

Update 10/11/97:

New album "Cast In Stone" is released.Venom's long awaited comeback! It comes in a double CD or triple vinyl. The new album seems to be going very good and has sold many copies up until now,and it continues to do so. Check out the Cast In Stone section for description and comments.

Update 6/9/97:

Venom came to Greece for a concert. They were to play with bands like Rotting Christ,Virgin Steele,Emperor,Theatre Of Tragedy,Deviser for Metal Invader's Open Air Festival '97. They showed everyone that they're still the band with the most scary stage show and also showed that they're still capable of producing killing music. The audience loved their new songs.See more about it on Venom In Greece section.
