"Brian Littrell Healthy Heart Club For Kids"
Breakfast with Brian in New York City
Source: Item from the Healthy Heart Club News File.
Thanks for making the Breakfast with Brian event in New York City a huge success! In just over
four hours, the event profited almost $20,000.00 for the growth and expansion of the Brian Littrell
Healthy Heart Club for Kids. It also allowed Brian a chance to meet and have fun with some of his
fans.
The morning began with Brian introducing himself (although I believe most people knew who he
was) followed by a thank you to everyone who contributed to the event. Brian then proceeded with a
question and answer session. He randomly picked participants from the audience and answered
questions relating to his upcoming baby, the Backstreet Boys, memorable moments, touring, and
many other questions.
It was then time for the meet-n-greet where Brian took pictures, answered questions, gave hugs,
and signed lots of autographs for each person who attended the breakfast. While the meet-n-greet
was in full swing, people who had already met with Brian were allowed to browse a Healthy Heart
Club information booth, purchase official Club merchandise, bid on silent auction prizes, and grab
refreshments before breakfast.
Following the meet-n-greet, Brian took on the role of auctioneer and auctioned off several personal
items that he had collected over the years as a Backstreet Boy. Brian had a lot of fun with the
auction, giving away a couple of items to participants who showed the most spirit, and by using his
own money to help a few people who bid on high priced items.
Just as things were calming down from the live auction, it was time to announce the winners of the
silent auction. Silent auction prizes included 15 minutes of exclusive game time at one of ESPN
Zones interactive sports themed attractions for three lucky winners. The games were intense and
the excitement was high as Brian challenged winners to basketball contests, quarterback
challenges, and stock-car races. Although Brian was victorious with most of the games, rumor has
it the ESPN Zone let him get a little early practice the night before the eventalthough this is pure
speculation at this point.
The event culminated with breakfast and the presentation of a video highlighting several special
moments throughout the history of the Brian Littrell Healthy Heart Club for Kids. The video ended
with a montage of photographs that included pictures of Brian as a child and graduates from the
various sessions of the Healthy Heart Club. Mrs. Jackie Littrell presented a few words to the
audience after the video, reiterating the importance of the Healthy Heart Club and thanking
everyone for their diligence and support of Brians charity. But just when everyone thought the event
was over, Brian took the podium for one last time and sang a few bars of a ballad that brought
many in the crowd to tears.
Once again, the success of the event rests completely on the shoulders of the one hundred
participants who paid their hard earned money to support Brian and the Healthy Heart Club. Brian
was very excited to hear about the amount of money raised by the event. However, he was most
excited to have breakfast with his fans and spend some time with a few of the people who make
his charity so successful.
