Fans of The Backstreet Boys know about Brian's heart problems beginning when he was a child. The time he almost died, how he miraculously got better and recovered, and how he then had to have heart surgery in 1998 to repair the hole in his heart.
Brian wanted to give back to the people who helped him through this, helped him as a child and as an adult, so in conjunction with the St Josephs Hospital in Lexington, he started a foundation. The foundation is called "The Brian Littrell Healthy Heart Club for Kids. The full story of Brian's HHC can be found HERE.
When Brian had his surgery in 1998 he was overwhelmed by the support from his fans and asked that all gifts that fans wanted to send him to be donated to the foundation. Thus began the extremely well supported and widely known Brian Littrell Healthy Heart Club for Kids.
