You know he's the sweetest boy in pop, but did you know this lot?

FULL NAME Howard Dwaine Dorough
DATE OF BIRTH August 22, 1978
STARSIGN Leo
PLACE OF BIRTH Orlando, Florida
HEIGHT 5'6"

Howie spent last summer brushing up his guitar skills in preparation for their tour. "I love playing the guitar on stage and I've been practising loads," he tells us. "We'll all playing instruments for the show." Hurrah!

Howie lovede going to his Latin roots last year, when he spent some time touring South America. "My best memory of the trip was visiting the Jesus statue on Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio De Janeiro. Visiting the pyramids in Mexico was really cool, too."

There's no stopping this boy - he's still got plenty of ambitions he wants to fulfil. He'd love to make a a TV series, plus he says there are still plenty of countries left that he'd love to take Backstreet Boys' music to...

He still gets inundated with packets of Gummi Bears after mentioning in an interview that he liked the tasty sweets. Yum!

Don't let anyone tell you it's an easy life being a Backstreet Boy - just ask Howie. "People have this misconception that we do a show, go to a party, sleep in the next day, go shopping, lie by the pool and go do the next show," he explains. "But mostly, when everyone else is at the party, we're on our way to the next gig, getting there with barely enough time to shower and rehearse before going on."

His first stage appearance, as a munchkin in the Wizard Of Oz, almost ended in disaster. Apparently Howie's costume was about two sizes too big and he spent the entire productinon trying to hold the darn thing up!

Although the boys all get on really well, the old disagreement can occur - and when they do, it's Howie who sorts thing out and calms everybody down.

Howie very nearly missed out on his chance for mega popstardom - BSB's management lost his address and almost didn't call him! Thank goodness they did, we say!

Howie's always loved musicals and would love to combine his singing and acting talents in a film. Now that's something we'd like to see...

Being famous may have its pressures, but they don't bother Howie - he loves'em! "The lack of privacy can be tough," he admits. "But then again, it's not such a bad thing to have lots of screaming girls out there!"

As tempted as you might be, don't even think about ruffling Howie's hair next time you see him - bad hair days are Howie's worst nightmare and he reckons his thick, black, curly hair is really unmanagable...

Popstars have to get used to having fans camping out on their lawns - but Howie's mum went one step further. She once invited some fans in for dinner, after they brought her flowers!

Planning the perfect night in with Howie? All you need is a big Chinese, a bottle of Sprite and a video or two. If you want to know what to hire, try Will Wonka And The Chocolate Factory - it's Howie's favourite film in the world ever Sorted!

Doh! As a young lad, Howie once got asked to sing the American National Anthem at his school sports day. But guess what - he forgot all the words! Oh, the pure shame of it!
