Kev seems to be the quiet serious one - but is he really?

FULL NAME Kevin Richardson
DATE OF BIRTH October 3, 1972
STARSIGN Libra
PLACE OF BIRTH Lexington, Kentucky
HEIGHT 6'1"

Now that Kevin's a proud home owner, he's achieved his lifetime's ambition to have his own piano. "It's a seven foot grand piano," he says proudly. I've always wanted one and it looks great, althrough I've still got a lot to do to the house. Because I'm never home my brother's staying there at the moment and helping me buy furniture and stuff, so it's getting there...

Kevin hates Backstreet Boys being labelled as just another manufactured band. "The five of us belive destiny has brought us together," he tells us. "We all strongly feel we're touching people's lives with our music. When we're in concert looking out into the audience, and we see young and old - mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, boyfriends and girlfriends - it just makes us very happy that we're touching other people. We're five guys who love music and love to sing. " And we love listening to ya!

Kevin loved his stint as a model last year - especially as he got to keep all the clothes!"I even get a discount in Versace now!" he smiles. It's alright for some!

Kev's new pad also boasts a recording studio! "I've bought a bunch of recording equipment and I've got my own studio at home, which I'm so excited about," he reveals. "I just wish I had time to sit down in there for a month and see what I could come out with."

Kevin never travels anywhere without his treasured photo of his late father, Gerard. It was his dad who follow his dreams and pursure a career in pop.

As you might expect, Kevin always make sure he packs his CD Discman whenever he jets off aroun the world. He says it's essential for whiling away those long hours travelling between concert venues.

The lads have always been big fans of music legend Elton John, and when Kev bumped into him recently in Germany, the cheeky young pup asked him if they could record a duet together!

BSB are now as big in America as they are in Europe, and Kev can think of only one drawback - beein recognised wherever they go! "It was strange before," he laughts. "We'd leave Europe and have a couple of hundred fans at the airport. Then we'd come home to the US and no one would know who we were!"

Kev's really pleased he's getting the chance to learn all about producing music - so does this mean he's thinking of a career change? "I can get as much enjoyment out of writing a song for somebody else and them doing it well, as I can being on stage with the guys," he admits. "But producing is something I'd like to get better at really - maybe something I'd like to do when I settle down and have a family..." Any takers, girls?

'The show must go on' has always been Kevin's motto. Once, when he was appearing on stage as a Teenage Mutant Turte (Kev had a job at Disney's MGM Studios, if you remember!), he lost one of his turtle feet halfway through the show - but manager to complete the show as if nothing had happened. What a trooper!

Kevin always makes sure he looks after himself while the guys are on tour - and that means keeping a strict eye on what he eats and drinks. "At the moment, I'm trying to avoid too much caffeine," he confides. Pass us the fizzy mineral water, please!
