My Family and Information I'm Seeking

    Below is a brief chart of my family on my father's side.  It represents four generations from my 3rd great-grandfather Adam to my grandfather, Albert C.  Although I am interested any information on the Howdyshell family I would greatly appreciate anything having to do with this particular family.

    I am trying to determine who the father of Adam was.  Federal Census records place him in Hampshire County between 1850 and 1860 and list him at age 60 and 70 respectively and lists his wife's name as Mary.  Circumstantial evidence suggests that he moved there from Rockingham County and I believe he is represented there in the 1830 and 1840 census.

    There were many Adam Howdyshells living at this time but I seem to have eliminated them all as being this Adam.  There was and Adam that married a Mary Sine but this is not him.  There was an Adam that married a Mary Bainter and moved to Ohio before 1820.  This man was about the same age and I lost track of him in Ohio after 1820 so I thought that maybe he had moved back to Virginia, but it has recently come to my attention that this particular Adam's father's will states that he was deceased as of 1830.

    If anyone can give me a clue as to who this man's father was or what his wife's, Mary, maiden name was, I'd be greatly appreciative. Of course I'd gladly accept any information on any Howdyshell family.

      I.  Adam Howdershell (283) was also known as Adam HOWDERSHELT. He was a farmer. He could
      read and write.  In 1860 his  assests were $1000 real estate and $375 personal. He was
      born circa 1790 in VA. He married Mary (--?--) (284). He died after 1860 in Hampshire, VA.
         A.  Mary A. HAWDERSHELL (1262). Her married name was SMITH. She was born circa 1810.
         She married William SMITH (1261) on 3 April 1830 in Rockingham, VA, USA.
            1.  Adam C. SMITH (285) was born circa 1853 in VA.
         B.  George HOWDESHELL (242) was a farmer. He was born in January 1819 in VA. He married
         Catharine Ann MALICK (263). He was a widower and could NOT read or write as of on
         15 June 1900 in Hampshire, WV, USA.
            1.  Mary HOWDESHELL (298). Her married name was MILLER. She was born on
            25 August 1844 in Hampshire, VA. She married David Joseph MILLER (1073) between
            2 July 1866 and 5 July 1866 in Upshur, WV, USA.
               a)  Elizabeth C. MILLER (1074) was born on 23 June 1867 in Upshur, WV.
               b)  Conrad MILLER (1075) was born on 8 February 1869 in Upshur, WV.
               c)  Lucy J. MILLER (1076) was born on 16 September 1872 in Upshur, WV.
            2.  Phillip HOUDYSHELL (228) was a farmer. He was born in December 1848 in VA. He
            married Mary E. DAVIS (229) on 3 December 1877 in Hampshire, WV. He could read and
            write and owned owned a farm free of mortgage as of in 1900.
               a)  Bertha C. HOUDYSHELL (240) was born in April 1879 in Hampshire, WV. She could
               read and write and was single as of on 9 June 1900 in Hampshire, WV, USA.
               b)  Flora  M. HOUDYSHELL (241) was born in April 1881 in Hampshire, WV. She could
               read and write and was single as of on 9 June 1900 in Hampshire, WV, USA.
               c)  John HOUDYSHELL (236) was born in January 1883 in Hampshire, WV. He was a
               laborer in 1900. He married Mumdir? (--?--) (237) circa 1908 in WV?. He was a
               farmer in 1910. He could read and write and was unemployed for 5 months as of on
               18 April 1910. He owned his farm free of mortgage as of on 28 April 1910 in
               Hampshire, WV, USA.
               d)  Charles HOUDYSHELL (230) was a farmer. He He could read and write. He was
               born in February 1884 in Hampshire, WV. He married Annie M. (--?--) (235),
               daughter of (--?--) (--?--) (233) and (--?--) (--?--) (234), circa 1910 in WV?.
               e)  Albert C. Houdyshell (181) was a farmer. His full name may have been Albert
               Cleveland Houdyshell. He was born on 18 July 1886 in Delray, Hampshire, WV. He
               married Mary Virginia MORELAND (82), daughter of Walter MORELAND (301) and
               Margaret (--?--) (302), after 6 May 1910. He died on 26 June 1972 in Keyes,
               Cimarron, OK, at age 85.
               f)  Thurman HOUDYSHELL (231) was a farmer. He was born in March 1888 in
               Hampshire, WV. He could read and write and was attending school as of on
               6 May 1910. He lived on 26 June 1972 in Augusta, WV, USA.
               g)  Blanche HOUDYSHELL (232) was born in March 1898 in Hampshire, WV. She could
               read and write and attended school as of on 9 September 1909. She was single as
               of on 6 May 1910.
            3.  Rebecca HOWDESHELL (299) was born circa 1851 in VA.
            4.  Margret A. HOWDESHELL (264) was born on 15 February 1854 in Hampshire, WV. She
            was single as of on 21 June 1880.
            5.  Sarah Jane HOWDESHELL (300). Her married name was LUDWIG. She was born circa
            1857 in VA. She married Joseph LUDWIG (1248) on 16 February 1879 in Hampshire, WV.
            6.  Malinda HOWDESHELL (265) was born circa 1861 in Hampshire, WV.
            7.  Thomas B. HOWDESHELL (245) was a farmer. He was born in June 1865 in Hampshire,
            WV. He attended school as of on 21 June 1880. He married Ella ? (243). His farm was
            mortgaged as of in 1900.
               a)  Earnest HOWDYSHELL (246) could read and write. He was born in November 1888
               in Hampshire, WV.
               b)  George HOWDYSHELL (247) could read and write. He was born in November 1890 in
               Hampshire, WV.
               c)  Violet HOWDYSHELL (248) was born in 1897 in Hampshire, WV.
         C.  Sarah M. HOWDERSHELT (1282) was born in 1828 in Hampshire, VA.
