Hoppin' Mad is a three piece punk/pop band straight out of the suburbs of detroit. the band consists of Billy Burkle, age 21, on guitar and vocals; Chuck Shermetaro, age 28, on bass and backing vocals; and Jason Kohl, age 21, on drums.
    Hoppin' Mad began writing songs and playing shows in 1992.  Since then, We have maintained a constant growth in popularity, recieved excellent revies from local fanzines (Jam Rag, Etch Magazines, etc.) and have continously played shows in and around the state of Michigan with other leading acts.
In March of 1995, we went into the studio to record our first cassette entitled 'Slop'.  'Slop' was a rough, raw, four song ride of fun and agression that sold 300 copies in less than two months.  Later, in August of 1996, we returned to the studio to begin recording our first full-length CD entitled, 'Passed and Approved.'  Released on Storm Records in December of '96, 'Passed and Approved' sold over 200 copies in the first week.  From that moment on, Hoppin' Mad was labeled as 'Detroit's Tasty Punk Rock Trio.'
    'Slop' and 'Passed and Approved' were released under the band name Inspector 7, with former bass player, Scott Lambert.  In the early spring of '97, Scott left the band due to creative differences and soon after, we asked Chuck to take over the bass duties.  With a new bass player, a better attitude, and enough adrenyline-filled songs to complete another full-length CD, we decided to change our names to Hoppin' Mad.  We still play and promote our prevously recorded material.
    Due to popular demand, Hoppin' Mad returned to the studio to record three new blazing songs.  We will be premiering on two national compilation CD's and a 7-inch EP sometime in the spring/summer of '98.  Hoppin' Mad is also planning a tour of the midwest during the summer of '98.
