In the car on our way to Atlanta the radio announces a Roy Orbison concert in
Atlanta two days later.
In Europe nothing was heard from him for the last decade.
The middle aged Americans in the open air theatre start the evening with a big picnic,
which is quite remarquable for us European tourists.
But the real surprise comes when "The Big O" walks on stage while his band
already started the "Dum, dum, dum, dum, dee, dee, wah."
Not affected by anything at all the nightingale brings his set of unique hits. Orbison's
singing still matches the level from his glory days. And to hear these songs performed
live makes them sound three times as good. |
