Bloomin's Zerg Strategy
I don't know how to start this, but I guess I can start by telling about myself.
I'm a new member to the clan NXS, My name is Bloomin, and my mission is to keep my wins double my losses. Well,
I'm done now, so I'll get started. Okay, as any Zerg player knows, there are 3 well known
strategies for the Zerg player. The early rush, the Hydra attack, and the Muta wave. There is also one not well used, but also potentially deadly, and
that's the Ultra attack. ALWAYS send your overlord to find the opponent!!!!! First,
I'll start out with the basic building order: All drones upto 7 mine minerals,
the 7th drone builds a Spawning Pool, and next is the Overlord. Now, here, it all depends how
you're going: Option one: Your rushing Option two: Hydras Option three: Mutas
Option four: Ultras Now, I'll go into each one differently.
Opt. 1 You're rushing: If you don't know how to rush, come to me and let me kick you in the head. Go lings, then, go for the
opponents probes/scvs/drones, then defense, then the base. If done well, the player should be
dead.
Opt. 2 Hydra: Have the next drone mutate into Extractor, then the amount of drones you want to mine from it. The next drone mutate into a Hydra den. Build hydras, and lots of
them. It would be highly recommended to mutate more hatcheries. If you want, and have already built an
evolution chamber, evolve carapace and missle. Finally, when your ready, USE HOTKEYS!!! Very
important for a mass attack. Control and a number selects the group. Lead your hydras to victory. (By the way, if you like, put a few
lurkers in there, just to piss your opponent off ^_^)
Opt. 3 Mutas: Extractor, drones mine, upgrade the hatchery. Have 2 drones mutate into spires, and upgrade at the spires. Once again, more then one hatchery is
recommended. Now, here you can do 2 things, 1. Build mutas and go mass muta, or you can spice it up with
guardians and devourers. You can guess what to do with the first, so I wont go into it. The second, have a drone mutate into a queens nest, upgrade the Lair to a Hive, then
upgrade a spire to a greater spire, while the other continues upgrades. After that, mutate your mutas to
whichever you please, and USE HOTKEYS!!!!!!!!!! Then, just go and beat the hell outta your
opponent.
Opt. 4 Ultras: Same as above, upto the spires. Instead of spires, mutate into a queens nest, then upgrade the Lair to a Hive. Now make the other drone a Ultra Cavern. After this, go for more
defense, as you will need a lot of time to get enough gas........Have enough gas? When you do, make ultras, and lots of
them. Make sure to get both its upgrades, and full melee attacks. You may also wanna get some
devourers to help with air defense for your squad. When ready, USE HOTKEYS!!!!!!!!!! Attack your
opponent, who should have a lot of defense by now, but no match for the swarm.
Well, that was long, wasn't it? I hope you got SOMETHING out of it, for all the time I put into it. Well, good luck to you all, fellow zerg players, and
En Taro Adun.
X-Pool
The Strategy of the X-Pool is pretty simple. It consists
of a Zerg player trying to do the fastest rush they can. The reason it is
named x-pool is because x can stand for any number. X is the number of
drones you have before you build your spawning pool.
4-Pool: This is the smallest number of drones you can have, since you
start with this many. Players who do not start building another drone are
either very sure of themselves, or do not know what they are doing. Make
sure you know what you are doing. Know the hotkeys, because even though
this will get you a spawning pool fast, you will not have fast mineral gathering
in time for building zerglings. So know what you are doing.
5-Pool: Almost the same as 4-Pool, but you have that extra drone mining
minerals for you, so you can have more minerals to spend on zerglings when the
time comes.
6-Pool and on: This is usually what I do, just because I like to have
minerals around when I need them. This way, you will be still be safe in
large maps, and you might even beat a faster player, just because you are more
prepared to expand and to pester him/her.
Helpful Hints from ArchonWarp
KNOW THE HOTKEYS! THEY WILL INCREASE YOUR SPEED MANY
TIMES-FOLD. I use my right hand for my mouse, but my left hand is
constantly pressing buttons on my keyboard, assigning squadrons, creating units,
and many other important functions. If I had no keyboard, I would have
VERY serious problems on battle.net.
You send them, I'll post them.
