Pokémon 2000 Stadium Tour

To help prepare you for the Pokémon Stadium Tour, we've posted an electronic version of the handout received by all parents when they arrive at the event.

To All the Parents & Guardians of Pokémon Enthusiasts

If this is your first foray into the world of Pokémon, WELCOME! On behalf of our entire Pokémon Staff, thank you for your patience today. The lines at Pokémon Central and at our participating retail partner can be long at times, but if you arrive at the activity areas at your assigned time, you shouldn't have to wait again!

We especially thank you for providing your child(ren) with an opportunity to experience today's Pokémon activities.

Please realize that thousands of excited Pokémon enthusiasts will be attending today's event. Here are just a couple of tips to make sure your children have an enjoyable experience:

  • Please accompany and supervise young children throughout the day.
  • Instruct your children to keep their Pokémon possessions secure and with them at all times. We know how much their Pokémon items mean to them!

Pokémon offers great entertainment and educational value. Listed below are just some of the reasons why you can feel good about encouraging your child(ren) to play Pokémon:

  • Pokémon is a strategy game that requires strategic thinking and strong quantitative skills.
  • Pokémon requires organizational skills to categorize over 150 different types of Pokémon.
  • Pokémon encourages imagination to capture and train Pokémon characters.
  • Pokémon requires players to remember a variety of character traits, skills and powers and to use these at just the right time.
  • Pokémon requires good reading skills, with complex names such as Charizard, Dragonair and Blastoise!
  • Pokémon offers a variety of activitiesfrom collecting to trading to playing.
  • Pokémon is fun, social and engaging a great game to play with family and friendsand a great way to meet new friends.

We hope your child(ren) enjoy today's activities. Thank you again for your support and interest in Pokémon!
Best Regards,
Christa Tanner

TOURNAMENT DESCRIPTIONS & GENERAL INFORMATION

  • The Tournament is open to the first 1,000 players with their own Game Boy system and either a Pokémon Red, Blue or Yellow game Pak.
  • Game Link cables will be provided at the Tournament; so you can still compete if you don't have your own.
  • Tournament players must already know how to play the game.
  • There are three tournament classes you can compete in: Pika Cup, Pok Cup or Prime Cup.

If a good many of your Pokémon are between experience levels 15 & 20 and you are fairly new to the game, you should register for the Pika Cup tournament. Here we will provide some instruction during the tournament when needed and take a little more time for each match.

If most of your Pokémon are between experience levels 50 & 55 and you have more than 50 hours in on the game, you should register for the Pok Cup tournament. Here we adhere strictly to the rules, but the level of Pokémon used are less advanced than in the Prime Cup.

If you consider yourself to be an expert on the game and you have at least 3 Pokémon over experience level 70, you may be a candidate for the Prime Cup. This is an area for advanced play. If you decide to compete, please review the Tournament Rules flyer for more details.

If you're not going to compete, you can still:

  1. Check out Pokémon Stadium!
    • Get a demonstration of the brand new awesome 3D graphics of the Pokémon Stadium game for N64!
    • Check out other new games from Nintendo at the Game Arcade!
