NINTENDO'S POKMON CREATES AMERICA'S LARGEST STADIUM

New Pokmon Nintendo 64 Title Outsells the Combined Capacity of America's Top 10 Sports Venues

Tauros REDMOND, Wash., April 3, 2000 - Passionate Pokmaniacs have snapped up more than 1 million copies of Pokmon Stadium in less than a month, easily making the innovative Pak the nation's top-selling video game so far this year.

"With Pokmon Stadium going platinum in little more than three weeks' time, it's clear that Pokmon is more popular than ever," enthuses Peter Main, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America Inc. "Stadium opens an entirely new aspect of game play because Pokmon Masters can see the hard work they devoted to training Pokmon on their Game Boys displayed on the big screen in full color and full 3-D. And the phenomenon will only get bigger once the mania surrounding the collection and swapping of Pokmon trading cards jumps to Game Boy Color with our Pokmon Trading Card Game on April 10."

Tangela Pokmon Stadium is the second Pokmon title for N64 (following 1999's Pokmon Snap), and allows up to four players to battle in a free-for-all Pokmon tournament complete with special attacks and fully animated movements.

The million-plus U.S. buyers represent more than the combined capacities of America's top 10 sports venues: the Rose Bowl, Soldier Field in Chicago, the Los Angeles Coliseum, the Superdome in New Orleans, and the campus homes for football teams at Michigan, Tennessee, Penn State, Ohio State, Stanford and Georgia.

In the Game Boy TowerAh, but Pokmon players are a resourceful lot. Those left figuratively milling on the sidewalk outside would probably whip out their Game Boys to play Pokmon Red, Blue or Yellow. That's because Pokmon built up on the Game Boy can be sent into Pokmon Stadium's 3-D battles via the Transfer Pak that comes bundled with Stadium.

Stadium Bundle Nintendo has also released a Limited Edition Pokmon Stadium Bundle set featuring an N64 control deck, two controllers, the N64 Transfer Pak, a Pokmon Stadium game Pak, a Battle Guide, Pokmon poster and a Wizards of the Coast Pokmon trading card. This exclusive hardware bundle is available for a suggested retail price of $149.95.
