DBZ Profiles

Goku, a saiyan raised on earth. Known as Kakarot by his saiyan bretheren, he was sent to earth as a child to take over the planet. He hit his head and "forgot" his mission and became the Goku we all know and love today. For the first few seasons he is the main hero, always saving the rest of the bunch and dishin out the beat downs in style. Married to Chi-Chi, two sons: Gohan & Goten.

Gohan, half saiyan half human son of Goku and Chi-Chi. Always told to do his school work by his mother and to stay away from his father's friends. He was trained how to fight and control his 'Ki' by Piccolo when Nappa and Vegeta were coming to earth. He becomes a very powerful fighter in the Cell Saga, defeating Cell himself. Has daughter named Pan late in the series.

Goten, second son of Goku. Spends a lot of his time with Trunks. He combines with Trunks at times to form an even more powerful fighter named Gotenks.

Krillen, one of the Z fighters trained under Master Roshi. He is Goku's best friend from childhood. They have fought together and been friends for most of their lives. When Frieza kills Krillen it enrages Goku so much that it finally pushes him over the edge and he becomes the legendary Super Saiyan(or Super Saiya-jin for the Japanese). Krillen is mainly in the show for comic relief as he is almost always hurt and laid out on the ground waiting to be saved by Goku.

Piccolo, a Namekian living on earth. He is the ultimate bad guy early on in the series, always competing with Goku. Later on in the show he starts to become an ally of the Z fighters and trains Gohan how to fight. He created the dragonballs on earth.

Vegeta, Prince of the Saiyan Race, he lives for battle and the destruction of his enemies. One of the most powerful fighters in the show and he has too much pride to know when he's beaten. He starts out as a villain but starts to become almost good in a way. He has a son named Trunks with Bulma.

Trunks, son of Prince Vegeta. Makes his first appearance shortly after Goku defeats Frieza on Namek. He travels back in time to warn the Z fighters of the coming onslaught of a group of Androids made by Dr. Gero. He makes short work of Frieza with his sword and blasts King Cold into dust without breaking a sweat. He is even more powerful than Vegeta, but he doesn't dare let his father know due to his pride.

Frieza, the ultimate bad guy in the Frieza saga. During this part of the series, he is the most powerful character by far. His power is so great that he must transform his body in order to control the power levels. He destroys entire planets with a single gesture. He was no match for a Super Saiya-jin though.

Cell, Super villain of the Cell saga. He is one of Dr. Gero's creations, combining cells(ergo the name Cell) from the various Z fighters from Piccolo to Vegeta. When he first starts out, he must absorb the power of others to increase his own power. When he absorbs the other androids into his body, he becomes "full body" Cell, or Perfect Cell. When he becomes "full body", he becomes virtually unstoppable. He makes Frieza look like a girl scout in comparison. He gave Goku, Vegeta, AND Trunks a run for their money. It took Gohan to go to the next level of Super Saiya-jin(SSJ2) to defeat him.
