This is my 1st Escort. An '89 GT that I bought for $2,000.00 with 135,000 mi on it. I didn't do anything as far as improvements as far as performance for the 1st 1.5 yrs I owned it. I put an Overboosted.com strut bar on it, this was something that I actually wish I had not done. The bar sits too high because of the odd bolt used to secure it to the strut tower. This odd bolt causes the hood to bow and a small dent has been created because of it. I am sure that with a small 3" grinder I could fix the problem, but I do not have access to such an item. I also put in an MSD Coil some Bosch Platinum plugs & 8mm wires, Bomb muffler, high flow cat & 2.25" exhaust. The only other mods I have done for this car is stereo. At one time it had a 12" sub in the spare tire well in a custom enclosure that you can view here. On Sept of '02 I purchased a '96 LX that I drive now. The '89 GT has been shelved as far as being worked on. It currently needs either an engine transplant or the engine rebuilt. I recently lost my high paying job and am no longer able to afford such things.
