Name: Jedi Knight KEY Converter

Type: Windows 95/98 Executable

Status: 90% Finished
Description:

keyconverter_small.gif (5454 bytes)Converts KEY files from one 3DO to another. For example, you can convert Yun's saber attack KEYs for use with Kyle, giving Kyle new saber attacks.

This is my first program written in Visual C++ 6.0, but because I only have the Introductory version of VC++ I am unable to release it. However, if some kind soul with the full version of VC++ would be willing to compile it for me, e-mail me and I'll send you the source..

Known Problems:

  • Crashes if you try to save a KEY when the source 3DO doesn't match the source KEY.
  • 3DOs with differing node hierarchies don't always convert correctly
  • Because of differing proportions between 3DOs, you might have to touch up some of the KEYs with Puppet Jedi

Possible Features in Later Versions:

  • The ability to mix animations (i.e. Use the leg movements from the Reeyee's walking KEY, and the arm movements from a Kyle KEY)
  • Automatic detection, and correction of differing node hierarchies.
