The Crater

Items:

"Neo Habamut" Materia, Hi-Potion, Ether, Kaiser Knuckle, "MP Turbo" Materia, Poison Ring

As you move deeper into the crater, you'll find Sephiroth's unwilling following making their way to the center.

Tip:

If you encounter a fallen follower, check him and he may transform into an item.  Also, keep an eye out for the Save Point and the "Neo Bahamut" Materia.

You may want (or need) to use a Tent to get some rest.  Also, take a moment to equip anything that absorbs or protects against Fire spells.

Shinra soon shows up with the whold gang:   Rufus, Scarlet, Heidgger, and even Hojo.  Ingnore them for now, and keep moving toward the center.

The wind is whipping around the crater, causing large barrier walls to form.  Don't cross the barriers until the wind calms down a bit or you'll get shoved back and forced into a fight.  Later barriers will have green waves ruching through them.  These waves never dissipate and must be avoided in the same manner.

The team burmps into Sephiroth just as he's killing a few shrouded figures.  He disappears for a moment, but then launches a sneak attack from above.

Boss Right:  Jenova-DEATH

Jenova-DEATH attacks with two types of fire magic:  Red Light and Tropic Wind.  (It can also cast Silence, but rearely does).  So, equipping your team with armor and accessories that protect against Fire makes this a short fight.

Start the battle by setting up MBarrier and casting Haste and Regen on the entire party.  Then have someone cast Slow on Jenoca-DEATH.  Which gives you a slight advantage from the start.  Normal attacks causes a decent amount of damage as do Level 3 magic attacks.  Also, keep the Esuna spell ready if Jenova-DEATH casts Silence on the teawm.  Defeat Jenova-DEATH and you'll receive a Reflect Ring.

Sephiroth is deep within the crater, but Cloud now has the Black Materia under his control although he can't use it yet.   Give the Black Materia to one of your party members (actually your choices are pretty limited) and move on.

Tip:

You'll find an "MP Turbo" Materia and a Save Point just ahead.   Consider using another Tent if the Jenova-DEATH battle left the team hurting.

The wind barriers get even trickier at this point.  Now you need to dodge the greeam waves and bolts of lightning.  Time your moves carefully.

As the team draws closer to Sephiroth, they begin to see things and place like Nibelheim.  Here you'll see the same scence you saw in the Kalm Inn, but things are slightly different.  Cloud is nowhere to be found.   Cloud writes the illusions off as a prank, but Tifa seems to be a bit more distrubed by the images.  Sephiroth claims that Cloud was created by Hojo just like the others and that he too is a Jenova-filled puppet.  Cloud realizes the folly in his memory, but seems to recorver before it can destroy him.

The Shinra execs have arrived at the center of the crater just in time to see the WEAPONS awake from their long slumber.  At the same time, whoever is carrying the Black Materia gets a mysterious visit from Tifa, who says to bring the Black Materia to the center of the crater.  This same character then runs off.  Which enables you to see that it was acutally Sephiroth - not Tifa - all along.

Time team joins the Shinra execs in the middle of the crater and the character who's carrying the Black Materia shows up shortly therafter.   Cloud takes the Black Materia and delivers it to Sephiroth.   At this point, all hell breaks loose and the WEAPONs are awakened.
