Untitled Part III
"Lil?"
The soft murmer of her name reached her ears and the girl turned in her seat, casting a look back to the bed where the man had begun to stir, his arm stretching slowly to her empty side of the bed. She climbed to her feet quickly, silently hurrying across the room and onto the bed, his hand brushing hers as she slid into place beside him.
His blue green eyes opened at the feel of her fingertips brushing across the back of his hand, and he looked to her, locks of his blonde hair messily strewn about his face. Though he looked right at her, she avoided his gaze, kneeling close to him to gently brush hair from his face, "How are you feeling?"
There was a slight tremble to her touch and he sighed in reply, taking both her hands in his. "Stop," he whispered.
And in response she froze, her eyes locked on the sheets that covered his perfectly chiselled body where he lay, her breath growing a little more ragged, a little more shallow as the seconds ticked by, the desire to cry near overwhelming her until eventually she could bear it no more. A soft sob escaped her and she collapsed forward into his arms, not even the slightest trace of hesitation in him as they wrapped around her, holding her tightly to his chest.
He cooed softly to her as she lay there, her tears spilling for minutes on end, slow, painful sobs racking her chest, her throat so tight that air seemed to be alluding her. His fingers brushed through her hair over and over, and as eventually the tears began to slow, he whispered warm promises against her ear that things would be okay.
She looked up at him, her eyes still glimmering with tears, all the emotion inside her brimming in the blue orbs and when she went to speak, he merely smiled knowingly at her, his lips touching hers to silence her. They curled beneath the kiss in a pleased smirk when she returned the kiss without hesitation, but when she pulled away, she still managed to whimper, "And Lisa..?"
Eyes hardening with that momentary flash of anger, he shook his head, his gaze one of unwavering determination, her fear written all over her face, he told her firmly, "That's never gonna happen."
His eyes remained on hers, and it only took a second for her to nod slightly, a soft smile painting her face. She reached up a hand, her fingers brushing gently across his lips before she leant forward to kiss him again. He chuckled slightly under the kiss, and when she pulled away, her smile only deepened before she lay her head back against his chest and closed her eyes, welcoming the continued hold of his arms around her. His rich, deep chuckle only deepened and she giggled, jabbing a finger into his chest playfully before softly starting to place light little kisses against his skin...
Comforted in a way no one else could comfort her.
She whispered, "Thankyou," and in reply he merely chuckled again, smug, cocky...
But content.
