Armageddon by Mike
Armageddon is a movie about the end of the world as we know it.... or at least that's what the makers want you to think. Although in this movie Earth does have a chance of being destroyed, it is more about special effects and "asteroid rigging." As in most of these disaster movies, at least one of the world's major cities is terrorized in all sorts of ways. In this case, New York had a 5 minute encounter with basketball-sized chunks from an asteroid the size of Texas. Although brief, the bombardment by the asteroids turned New York into (more of) a garbage heap. But that wasn't the worst. Later in the movie, most of Paris was destroyed by one large rock. As usual, this movie has a suprise ending, and what a suprise came to my best friend, (who was with me for the movie.) I will not explain anything else, you'll just have to see it and find out more for yourself. Although I have seen better movies, this one is definitely worth watching.

Lethal Weapon 4 by Dan
I just saw Lethal Weapon 4 tonight and I almost got half of my money's worth, meaning that I liked it and recommend it, (and that movie prices are too high- no movie is worth $7.75). I don't like to sound like a "movie reviewer", but this movie really is a relentless action/comedy that doesn't let you get bored. The beginning is a bit ridiculous, but it gets better from there, and it becomes apparent by the end that this is the last in the "Lethal" series. This movie is a well-packed goodbye for everyone involved, a better send-off then Sean Connery got in "You Only Live Twice". It just doesn't stop- it is very long and you feel it, but not in a bored way, it seems like you are seeing a double feature. Sure, there are explosions and fight scenes, but there are also numerous pregnancies and births, hostage-type situations and interrogations, funny moments, and touching, emotional scenes in which minute, under-developed and unnecessary, character-deeping takes place. (That was a mouthful.) Only in this movie would the same car and driver be hit by two different trains in a two-minute span. It is a bit violent, (graphically and unnecessarily), more than you'd probably expect, but I don't think that it will ruin anyone's enjoyment, (as long as the squeamish look away when Jet Li is impaled on a piece of rebar and being lifted up and yanked around by it). I think that everyone, including people who don't like "testosterone-laden" action movies, will be able to enjoy this movie as long as they don't come in expecting "Citizen Kane" with an uzi. Go to have a good time, (and forgive the makers for a few stupid lines and hokey situations).
