Red Rain:
Dramatis PersonaeRain, of clan Brujah
Rain has been very busy the past five years. He's built himself an urban empire over which he reigns as the shadowy master and Rafe presides as king. He has prepared as Elders prepare for the future: by hoarding, building, planning. The Voodoos patrol his territory, Sara protects his finances, Kevin keeps him tied into the literal underbelly of the city; he's scattered secure havens all over Baltimore, and ingratiated himself to the Prince time and again. There's but a single rumor about him, for the recluse remains out of the public eye and Elysium: his reputation marks him as absolutely thorough, and no one wants him as an enemy.
The Harpies all mention that the Viper Club became The Chamber at about the same time, purely coincidentally of course, that all the Setites in the city disappeared. The Chamber is now the club where the goth-babies and the blood-dolls all go to play; and so does Witchcraft with an all-too-familiar lead singer.
An artist at heart, a darkness swells in his breast. Though there are no black veins in his aura (!), every now and then he gets a certain ice-cold look in his eye, and the flesh of Kindred near him crawls. What secrets does he hoard? Who knows. And ask yourself: do you really want to know?
Matt, of clan Gangrel
He had to grow up fast and learn even faster: there are things you do, and things you don't, if you're going to survive in the Camarilla. This Domain has offered some peace: he's spent the several years organizing the Guardian Angels on Green Street, protecting the city's monuments and landmarks. The Prince has looked favorably upon his diligence, and Donovan, the Gangrel Primogen, has made sure that the Neonate learns all he should know about his Clan, the Gangrel. He seems to spend a lot of time loitering around the Johns Hopkins Universitiy campus, but who doesn't? It's prime hunting ground and it's a hub for contacts, clandestine meetings, information and amusement.
Over these past five years, no word has been forthcoming from Geneveve, which means there's been no news of the en-Torpored Caroline. The childe Christine has also been incommunicado. While he only wanted to close a chapter of his life, it seems there are only more loose ends unravelling.
Has he finally managed to let go of the past? Has he been able to move on with his future? We'll soon find out...
Sara, of clan Tremere
"There are no Tremere in Baltimore." That's the official party line, straight out of Vienna. Taking a chance, Sara contacted Trevor Black, who became her mentor shortly thereafter. He never told her why he decided to continue her training when the Clan has been abandoned here, but he has proved to be a brilliant (though terse and uncompromising) teacher.
She has spent the past five years deeply emersed in her studies, regularly assisting Rain as his financial wizard and advisor, and generally being as responsible and dedicated as she ever was while raising her sister Caroline. She hasn't spoken of her sister since you left her in Geneveve's charge.
Decker, of the Caitiff
Robert Decker made his first appearance in Boston while you were all "hiding" at the Lancaster Inn. He easily assumed a place in your midst and managed to catch up with you yet again on your last visit to Boston.
He has a reputation on the East Coast for his work with the Caitiff, trying to do what Joseph Pander did in the Sabbat: secure a place for the clanless. Decker wants to take it a step father though, and actually give these pariah kindred a voice in the Primogen. It worked in Philadelphia. Will Baltimore be next?
His political agenda aside, what does Decker want with you all? He's followed you and watches you from afar--and sometimes from right up close. He was right there when you discovered Jericho had inhabited Christine as a matter of fact, he was a key player in the drama which unfolded. Jericho's presence was ejected from her body in the end, but in the process of Decker's Frenzy and the chaos which erupted, Christine was Embraced.
Five years have passed since that fateful night, and much has changed: Decker has worked with Rain, and has worked his way into the fabric of the Domain. He and Matt haven't seen one another in a long, long time. But is it enough?
