Karvin Music Source and Karvin Johnson Helps Independent Record Labels See Profits.

"Independent record labels need the kind of service that can help get them paid," states music business consultant Karvin Johnson. The formal male vocalist turned entertainment entrepreneur is CEO of KARVIN Entertainment Source. Mr. Johnson is on a mission to blow up independent record labels profits by assisting them in developing clear vision of how the music industry really works.

Currently the experienced music and entertainment executive is riding the powerful wave of several successful projects. KARVIN Entertainment Source's hottest projects include New Edition and New Kids On The Block producer Maurice Starr's Five Young Men on Loud records; Mr. Starr's boy band, 6 Piece, now signed to Master's P's No Limit records; Outta Control Records star rappers, Thugz Nation, no with a major distribution deal through BMG, later to be announced.

KARVIN Entertainment Source currently has two hot deals on the table. 3G Entertainment's artist Mr. Ku and Black Chief Entertainment's KK Da Kum Up Kid.  There are several independent record labels that Mr. Johnson assists to develop a clearer vision of big profits for their respective companies. In addition to consulting independent labels and artists, Karvin is building a major distribution company through Karvin Entertainment Source.

In reference to getting companies started on the road to success, Karvin walks a new person through all the steps an independent company needs in order to really get paid. These steps involve creating strategic plans that impact independent distribution, retail, radio, clubs, target audience sampling, marketing, street promotions, publicity and public relations.

Since Karvin has considerable experience and knowledge on both sides of the showbiz fence, he fully understands both artist and administrative people. In terms of artist, Karvin keeps an ear to the street to stay on top of new sounds .

Mr. Johnson's understanding of both sides of the business comes from his involvement with many well know recording artists and companies. His collective wisdom was gained through working with such names as Eric Benet, Johnny Gill, Chaka Kahn, Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, Silas/MCA Records, Shanice, T.K. Carter and many more.

Adding to his performance and administrative storehouse is the fact that Karvin Johnson is the former publisher of The Atlanta Rhythm Times- the acclaimed newspaper chronicle the "what's happening" in Atlanta's powerful urban scene. A few of the publication;s writers who went on to find fame and fortune in the exciting world of the entertainment business.

Included such personalties as Arrested Development's Speech, former East/West records, A7R exec and now regional director of ASCAP-Ian Burke, and Georgia Sentinel Entertainment Editor Willie Hunter just to name a few.

Mr. Johnson's latest idea is the K.E.S. New Music Seminar 2002, a series of new artist showcases and music seminars presented round the region. Karvin is excited about the tremendous response generated from those in and around the industry.

The K.E.S. New Music Seminar 2002 is designed to expose up and coming performers to the industry and to educate those persons who are new to the entertainment business. "Our goal is to educate people about all aspects of the music business," say Mr. Johnson.
