Jenny's Page
Jenny died February 10, 2003
Painting by Diann Izzie
I painted this 30x40 oil painting for my sister Jenny.
It was given to her on her 50th Birthday.
The family was happy that she was still with us,
since she was told that she wouldn't live to be 40 years old,
because of her many health problems.
Jenny is a diabetic and has kidney dialysis three days a week.
She needs a kidney transplant and is on the list waiting for a donor.
Her faith in God is what keeps her going.
When she is in unbearable pain she imagines
she is on a mountain top watching the eagles soar.
Only in her imagination can she do this because she is blind.
That is what inspired me to do the painting above.
Jenny has collected eagles for many years.
Her favorite bible verse is....
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

"Warrior Sister"
We Love you warrior sister,
Our hearts and souls you touch.
We have more love and compassion,
You've taught us all so much.
A new chapter in your book of life,
With great challenges ahead.
No need to look at life,
as something to dread.
Your magnetic personality,
draws the people near.
You give to all who know you,
Love, Hope and Cheer.
You don't let pain and suffering,
or even loss of limb.
Get you down or depressed,
and let your light go dim.
You're a bright shining star
It's true!
Because God's light shines
through you.
You have the spirit of an angel,
when others would run away.
Even in deep despair,
you have something wise to say.
You mount up with wings like eagles,
We love to watch you fly.
A noble triumph, you have won
so hold your head high.

"Our Sister Jenny"
Our sister Jenny has a heart of gold,
When God made her he threw away the mold.
She's the most unselfish person we've ever known,
The kind of person that makes a house a home.
If we have a problem and don't know what to do,
here comes Jenny out of the blue.
She says what she thinks with no holding back,
outspokenness and energy, she doesn't lack.
She attacks a problem with all her might,
don't try to stop her or she will fight.
She'll fight for what is fair and just,
that's why in Jenny, we put our trust.
Being from a large family, there's lots to be done,
But with Jenny around, everything is fun.
She can make us laugh, even when we're down,
With her sense of humor, she should have been a clown.
She inherited these traits from a great mom and dad,
they made her what she is and we are glad.
Dad was smart, had spunk, and he was bold,
from mom she inherited a heart of gold.
Being her sisters and brothers has been a pleasure,
Memories of the past, we will always treasure.
Oh dear God in heaven above,
Thank you for sending this sister of love.
Bless and protect her, wherever she goes,
and show her that she'll reap what she sows.

" Challenged "
Some say I am disabled,
But you know that isn't true.
I simply have a challenge
A little different from you.
My slight inconvenience, has taught me
Things they could not know.
Each obstacle is a victory,
Enabling me to grow.
I'm not really any different,
I cry, I laugh, I snore.
I don't want to be treated
As if I'm not a person anymore.
Out of good intentions,
People are afraid to let me try.
But sometimes I have to fall,
And sometimes I need to cry.
God gives me strength and dignity,
And the courage to be all I can be.
For He doesn't see me as disabled,
He just sees me as me.

Letters To The Editor Of The Columbus Dispatch
Organ donations can give the most precious gift: life
Thursday, November 23, 2000
This letter is to thank a father I've never met. Ten years ago, on Nov. 28, he made the ultimate sacrifice after his daughter's death when he allowed her organs to be donated for transplant. In that one unselfish act, he gave life to my mother, whose kidneys had failed because of the debilitating effects of diabetes.
Because of him, my father, my four brothers, my sister and nine grandchildren have been blessed with having my mom still with us. My family thanks that father for his precious gift given during a time of tremendous grief and loss. And we encourage others to say yes to organ and tissue donation on their donor cards and driver's licenses and to discuss the decision with their families.
