Creation and Destruction
Symbolic Man stands on the edge of a river canyon and deigns to dam it; creating a lake to feed, bathe and entertain himself, without regard to the rich habitat destroyed by the process. The first in a new series of diptychs, Creation and Destruction were drawn on two separate peices of illustration board, scanned, manipulated and assembled as one image on my new PC. This is the largest and highest quality work I have had the pleasure of undertaking. Because the quality of the scan and the size of the fractals rendered, I will be printing this work 210 cm by 65 cm (about 7 ft by 2 ft) with no loss of detail. Here's how it looked in my sketchbook as an idea.

Islands of Trees
From the sketch of a trio of trees comes this landscape of the levendis mind. There is fractal imagery incorporated, though it is not as apparent as other work here. Notice the swirling fringe surrounding the island tree, and compare it to the sketch.

Symbiosis
Symbiosis is representative of my desire to preserve nature and the environment, and also symbolizes my belief that we as humans co-exist with nature in harmonious equilibrium. I travelled to Lake Ray Roberts in Denton, TX and sketched a few shorelines to use in this piece. It is my second work on illustration board, after PEDOPHAGIA RITUALS. The original drawing is approximately 70cm x 35cm, scanned in and edited with Photoshop with some beautiful fractals in the sky (MandPheonixclx) and in the water (Julia.) I added a lunar eclipse to the sky and darkened the water in this edit.

Feline
The lovely feline skeleton appears alone in a flash of light from the burning sun. Using the techniques applied in Creation and Destruction I have recreated Feline (224KB) in high resolution. The new image prints at a size of 31 3/4 inches by 18 inches at 100dpi, and the file size is 30MB.

Whirlpool
I created Whirlpool with pen & ink just like Feline except for the colour added with my Badger airbrush. The fractal sky is a Mandelbrot zoom generated with Fractint, and added with Adobe. The creature on the island is generating his own whirlpool of energy to create a kind of monument to morbidity, in the form of a column of water with triple skulls. Also his energy extends to the sides of the water, creating two visages of death. The original edit has a star-field in the sky with a total eclipse of the sun.

Oppose
Oppose is another composite, similar to the three above. The sunrise photo used was downloaded from the Weather Photography site by Michael Bath and Jimmy Deguara, Sydney, Australia. An image of Io (Jupiter's volcanically active moon) was placed in the center, with a swirling fractal emanating from behind the moon. The wizards are in opposition, yet they are working together to create their own worlds. Recreated in high resolution, Oppose (285KB) is now printable up to 33 by 22 inches without loss of detail.

Warrior I
Warrior 1 embodies the spirit of lucid dreaming, where I approach a meditative state and transcend my current reality. In this image, I have attempted to recreate the 'waking dream' in which I imagined a skeletal figure with a lovely cloudscape behind him. An animated gif with the spiral fractal sky-scape colour cycling was created with this image. Another recreation in high resolution, this new version of Warrior (285KB) incorporates the lovely moon. The print measures 22 by 26 inches at 100dpi.

Warrior II
Warrior 2 is a 5 layer image composited with Adobe Photoshop 4.0, including a storm picture from Michael Bath's site- Weather Photography, and another beautiful fractal zoom into Madelbrot's set. I have had many visions of creatures such as this one during my "waking dreams" (what I call the state of being where I feel within my sphere of imagination, rather than just seeing it in the back of my mind like a photo) Warriors is what I like to call them, not that they have anything to do with war. You could say they are like a soldier in the war in my mind, hundreds of sides fighting for one sanity.

Rise
From the depths of our mind, this decrepit skeletal figure risees above an immense crevase that opens in the ground beneath my sanity. Rise is pen & ink on paper, with a sunset photo from Weather Photography added with Adobe. The fractal lightning is actually two different calculations of one fractal image, with the colours cycled slightly apart (Fractint 19.6).

Wizard I
This Wizard is perched upon a levitating island above a massive fracture in the surface of the planet. A skeletal hand can be seen rising from the crevace to create the island. The Wizard produces a beautiful landscape in the sky with chaotic energy (Fractint 19.6) with a spectacular extreme ultra-violet photograph of Sol (false colour image from SDAC) setting behind the mountains in the distance. Pen & Ink on paper with Adobe Photoshop image editor.

Formation
In this one, a detail of the many skeletal hands in my work is shown. The formation of the exposed muscle creature is also evident in many of my works. The sky is a Julia zoom with real number outside colouration, and the river has a somewhat visible Mandelbrot zoom under a semi-transparent rendering of waves. This is a negative rendition.
