Have a great dentist you want to impress with your handiwork? Here's a "happy stone" I made for my favorite dentist!

Beach rocks work great, I happen to drop by a rockery once in a while where I pick up Mexican River Rock - and this is an example of it. It is approximately 5" across and as smooth as a baby's bottom. It also comes in red and about 3 ranges for size and weight.

You can find all kinds of neat blasting materials at a rockery -- have fun!

Here's a fun little piece, about 2" x 4" that I made over the weekend. It's getting more into dimensional work. This is a 1/4" piece of blue glass mounted in front of a 1/4" piece of clear. The wave tops are frosted just a little on the clear. The shell is carved in the back side of the blue so you don't see it directly.

It was finally mounted on a small piece of oak with a slot in the center so the glass stands at 90 degrees to the base. I hot glued a few small polished black beach stones around the base at both sides and it draws quite a few compliments.

When the sun shines through it the shell really stands out nicely. Hard to photograph, but you get the idea.

These are all of the pages for now....if there is anything special you would like to see or questions you want to ask ...just ask away! I enjoy hearing about what others are doing....show-n-tell is one of the joys of glass carving!
