Neon Genesis Evangelion

Welcome to Evangelion...

I must say this is my new addiction and requires most of my paychecks to fund it. Evangelion is a great anime series from Japan. There are thirteen tapes in the series (you can buy them dubbed) with two episodes on each tape. Plus the movie, which you have to order and unfortunately isn't dubbed, but subtitled instead which is better than nothing I guess.

In any case the characters are fascinating in depth people, with problems worse than yours. And the music of the series is damn catchy as well. I plan to put up plenty of pictures and maybe even some sound files. Enjoy browsing for now.

I will definitely add more pictures and maybe even a few downloads of Evangelion winamp skins that I made with a skinner program. I was thinking this would be the perfect opportunity for me to discuss more in depth things about the series. I've decided that I will link it to another page, so that you don't have to go there and spoil the surprise if you haven't seen the whole series and the movie. And I certainly recommend seeing everything before you get into analytical discussions on it!

Shinji Ikari
A real sweet guy, but he's got problems. His dad, Gendou rather abandoned him during early childhood. Shinji has a really tough time being social, but he tries to open up a little to his friends at school and to Misato his new guardian.


Asuka Langley
Asuka is in no uncertain terms the bitch of the series. She has a wonderful attitude of "I am better than you, bow down to me as your goddess." Most of this stems from her mother's death which occured when Asuka was only 4 years old. She had to grow up quickly and has ever since only wanted to impress upon people and be number 1.


Rei Ayanami
Rei has no personality to speak of and we only see any amount of emotion from her three times. After Shinji saves her life she smiles. She cries just before she "dies" and she cries again later in the series. Rei is rather suicidal and values others lives much more than her own. She feels as if she has nothing to live for, and Shinji tries to prove her wrong.
