An Instant Classic

If you didn't know yet: Barbra is a second-hand "Rose" and Jeff Bridges is "Gregory" in Streisand's latest cinematic tour-de-force. The two are Columbia professors, and their relationship struggles with the eternal folly of beauty and sex, love and passion.

The romantic comedy was Sony Picture's big holiday release for 1996. The cast includes Lauren Bacall (who won a Golden Globe for her role), Pierce Brosnan, George Segal, Brenda Vacarro, and Elle Macpherson.

The Barbra/Bryan Adams duet "I Finally Found Someone," which plays over the film's end credits, is phenomenal. The single was commercially released October 5, with the Spanish version of "Evergreen." The Mirror Has Two Faces: Music from the Motion Picture was released on November 12, 1996.

Mirror is now on video!

The movie garnered two Oscar nominations:
from The Mirror Has Two Faces, a TriStar Pictures Production
Lauren Bacall - Performance by an actress in a supporting role
"I Finally Found Someone" - Original song

"I Finally Found Someone" was the highest debuting single on Billboard's Hot 100, at #28 on its first week; the duet peaked at #8.

The Mirror soundtrack debuted on the Top 200 albums list at #16, its peak position to date.
