I am incensed at the way the world is today. The world (or at least Illinois) is going or has already gone to Hell in a handbasket.

So what gives me this attitude? As usual, I pick up a copy of the Chicago Tribune at work. What do my heavy-lidded eyes see? A mother, father and step-father torch their house for insurance. That act in itself is stupid. Can't they get jobs? What is sick is the fact that they didn't bother to save their three children. That is inhuman. No, let me correct myself. That is SUBhuman. How can three fucking adults torch a house for insurance and leave their kids in the goddamned house? From what the reporter wrote, the mother was putting on a pretty good act of being upset, but she helped toss gasoline around the house.

People are killing each other because one person has money and the other doesn't. I don't have any fucking money and I'm not killing some old lady for her pension check. I'm not trying to kill my kids, either. I take responsibility for my actions. These idiots should be used in LAB EXPERIMENTS. Put them on the same damn level as rats. No offense to rats.

A girl that works in the same building was threatened with a gun on her way to the mall! Okay, I've cut people off from a certain traffic lane and have done the same to me. Sure, I get upset over it. I don't have to pull a gun on someone for it, though. She reported this to the police and they told her she was shit out of luck. (Yes, she remembered the plate number.) Since when does driving a car warrent carrying weapons? Since when does driving a car give you the license to attempt to kill someone for poor driving skills? Or poor driving skills on your own behalf.

I'm sick of reading about it. I'm sick of hearing about it. Actually, I'm fucking sick and tired of everyone acting like spoiled children. Don't give me that "I'm a victim" bullshit, either. If you're an adult, or even 16 years of age, you're old enough to be held responsible for ALL of your actions. "The devil made me do it" plea falls on deaf ears. If your life sucks, do something that's constructive. Go back to school and get a better job. Help someone in your community that's fallen on hard times. If you make a mistake, ADMIT IT. Be willing to pay the consequences. Become an adult. Don't think that since you're black, white, gay, female, etc. that you've got an excuse to be a fucking idiot.

The moral of my ranting: just take responsibility for your own actions.
