A while back the world lost Diana Spencer, or as the rest of the world knows her as "The Queen of Our Hearts," in a car crash
involving members of the media. I have my own way of interpreting this event, but I'm still trying to figure out why the rest of the world
is still in this excessive mourning stage for the late Princess. It seems like more people would rather have their spouse, or parents go
through that then Di and Du Du, DuWah or whatever his name is. There are plenty of things that anger me about this quote-unquote
"tragedy" and here are a few:
#1 The mourners: What angers me more than the tabloids, media or the drunk driver are the people who come out on TV, shed a tear or two and act like they're coming off sincere. The fact is all they want is to fit in with their poker pals, or bingo buddies. They don't fool me but they seem to have fooled the rest of the world. What's as pathetic as the fake mourners are the ones that are actually sincere. They must be the most bored people in the world if they have nothing better to do then stand around in a large crowd for three days just to catch a glimpse of the ass of the horse that dragged her coffin. In my opinion, she's dead, too bad, get over it.
#2 The people who read the tabloids and watch tabloid TV: The mourners just edged out the tabloid readers/watchers for the most pathetic award. Do they have nothing better to read about than Chevy Chase's penis enlargment? His acting career was small enough. I'm a need to know person and I don't need to know who killed John Benet Ramsay, and I don't need to know all of this. My guess is there's about ten 70-year-old grandmothers in Ohio that keep them all in business. They probably sit around the local bingo parlor talking about their findings in the National Enquirer and The Globe. But hey, it's good bathroom reading.
#3 The media: The media sorta ties in with the tabloids. I don't put as much off the blame on them as everyone else does, but I don't think they should get off the hook. I think it would have been different if there was a musician or actor in the car, but in Diana's case, I'd have to say that the media had no business taking pictures, she never asked for fame and that's why I think it would've been different if there was Cher in the car. But what fueled them was the tabloid readers' thirst for gossip, so that's why I don't blame the media that much.
#4 News magazines: This could have been #1 since 20/20, Dateline, etc. are the biggest hypocrites in the world. They go on the air and whine, whine whine,"The paparazzi did this, the paparazzi did that" when the truth is they're the ones with the cameramen chasing celebrities through tunnels at 2,3, 293 or whatever it was.
#5 The Drunk Driver: Everyone just can't seem to understand that THE DRIVER WAS DRUNK! I think that there was no excuse and he was the one that killed three people including himself.
In conclusion, there are still plenty of things that anger me about the crash and the aftermath, including the world's fascination with the deaths. I should say death since no one cares about DuDu and the wasted driver, and I still don't get how people can sit through the funeral, or Harry, William and Charles walking around, at 4:00 am without switching over to Porkey's. I don't want people to think I wanted her to die or anything but let's be honest, she could've been the Queen of your hearts but she was not the queen of mine. Get over it.
Matthew Craggs is 14 and my little brother. I nixed his original title, which was "Diana: Dead and Loving It." He has a Bone Thugs-n-Harmony site, Tha Ouija Board.
