I dream of world piece as I see two type of individuals in the world
today ... those filled with love and those filled with anger. The
song One Tin Soldier reminds me of this and how anger and greed can destroy
even the kindest and most giving creatures. No matter what we are all brothers
and sisters walking the same path in life, all human - all the same breed.
Yet I see so much fear in this world - over color; religion; sex; even
how a person looks.
|
Some days I am ready to give up hope then I remember a passage/story
I once heard from long ago. (you will also see this below). I extend my
hand out to all, taking a stranger into my home that is without or in need;
giving them that last dollar I have; trusting some how I will find another
to place food on my table. For you all are my family - my brothers and
sisters. |
|
I don't give so others may be happy, I do it to please myself.
There is a joy in sharing and knowing that you have helped even if at times
some are just using you. I hold the hope and dream of world peace
very dear. I may not see it in my time - my children may never see
it. But it will be here one day. I would rather be the angel
that stops the tear then a devil that brings the fear and pain. |

The Stranger
|
|
(((The Stranger turns to the light filled with hope and happiness holding
out his riches and states ))) ... When I was hungry you gave to me your
last dollar so I may eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink: I was
a stranger, and you took me in: Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick,
and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to see me .... <<<<The
gentleman replies in confusion>>> .... Sir, when have I seen you hungry,
and fed you; or thirsty, and gave a drink? Or when have I seen you as a
stranger, and took you in; or naked, and clothed you? When have I seen
you sick, or in prison, and came to visit? .... (((The Stranger gives
to the gentleman a hug as his love is all the riches he has and replies)))
What you have done to help my brother, you have also done for me. For this
you are an angel and your rewards will be many. I will always remember
your kindness and pass it along to others in need when all seems dim and
hopeless. |
|
(((The Stranger then turns to that darkness filled with greed and anger
and states))) You forever will be bitter and full of a burning fire. I
wish that I could help you ... when given the chance you turned my riches
away. For I was hungry, and you couldn't not afford to give me one of your
many dollars: I was thirsty, and you would not give my a drink. I came
to your home a stranger, and you turned me away, naked and without cloths.
I was sick, and in prison, all alone and as you left me stranded with out
a care. <<<<The man replies to him in a defensive voice>>>
... When have I ever saw you hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked,
or sick, or in prison, and did not offer to help you? (((The Strange answer,
sadly saying))) ... I wish you could see that every man you have turned
away when in need you have also turned me away. For they are my brother
and we are one. I am sadden to see your greed and anger has caused so much
pain and fear as you leave one out in the cold. What I even find sadder
then this is you will never know the true riches of love your punishment
will be everlasting as you stand alone with no love and no hope. |

ONE TIN SOLDIER

Listen children to a story that was written long ago 'bout a kingdom
on a mountain and the valley folk below. On the mountain was a treasure
buried deep beneath a stone, and the valley people swore they'd have it
for their very own.
|
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away. |
|
So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill asking for the
buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill. Came an answer from
the kingdom: "With our brothers we will share all the secrets of our mountain,
all the riches buried there." |
|
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend. Do it
in the name of heaven, justify it in the end. There won't be any trumpets
blowin' come the judgment day on the bloody morning after one tin soldier
rides away. |
|
Now the valley cried with anger; mount your horses, draw your sword,
and they killed the mountain people, so they won their just reward. Now
they stood beside the treasure on the mountain, dark and red, turned the
stone and looked beneath it. "Peace on earth" was all it said. |
|
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end. There won't be any
trumpets blowin' come the judgment day on the bloody morning after one
tin soldier rides away. |
