What evil is this that's befallen me?
          Bewitched by your melting eyes
How much more cruel can you be
After you set my heart on fire?
What kind of spell did you cast
          To make this enchantment last?
You used your cunning and your guile
To captivate me with your smile.
Show me Lord how to break free
From this love that wasn't meant to be
Oh heaven send your angels down here
Let them come and save me.
          Locked in your sweet embrace
With no hope of rescue or escape
Chained am I to your prison cell
Burned by fires worse than hell.
Your touch is all it takes
To trap me in your sweet caress
And so much higher rises the stakes
The more I hunger for your darkness.
Everywhere I look I see your face
All I hear is your whispering voice
How much longer will you make me stay?
Why did you steal my heart away?

This poem was something I wrote from my inner feelings, about having loved someone whom I believe I should not fall for. I did love someone, and for a long time too, but he and I weren't meant to be. The experience inspired me to write this which I think speaks so much about how a person feels when the love he or she shares with his or her lover is illicit, some sort of a secret affair. I believe though, unlike the poem says, that we have freedom to love someone else as we wish. However, in the lines talking about being trapped, I mean that you love this person so very much that you'd give your entire life plus your next one just to be with him or her for the tiniest moment. It's being trapped by the love you nurtured that you cannot escape had you wanted to.
